Valewood Clinic

I would not recommend Dr LACKNER to anyone looking for a compassionate & caring GP. My father was his patient for many years & his lack of care & interest in my Dad’s health was extremely disappointing & not good enough.

Basically, my Dad was a smoker and as a result he treated him like he was a waste of his time & failed to refer him to any specialists for a number of debilitating conditions until it was too late.

On one occasion when my Dad saw him after having lost a large amount of weight in a short period of time he made the joke, “I thought you’d be dead by now”. He probably thought he was being funny & my Dad never complained but it was beyond unprofessional.

He treated my Mum (who was Dad’s primary carer) with contempt & always made her feel uncomfortable.

His lack of empathy extended to the end when after my Dad passed away in hospital (where he spent the last 8 weeks of his life) he never once made contact to check on his condition yet had his staff ring my Mum two days after his death to remind him that he was late for a blood test.

I will say that the nurses & staff in the treatment room at Valewood Clinic were always excellent with my parents and took great care of them. As did Dr Selina LIM on the occasions that my Dad saw her.

It’s a pity that Dr LACKNER did not do the same. In our experience, he has very little interest in treating older patients with chronic conditions and we feel very let down by his lack of care & concern.

I have never left a comment like this about a medical professional before so that’s how strongly I feel about this. Your experience may be different and I hope that it is.

Valewood Clinic has provided medical care for us for over 20 years. Valewood not only has a great team of doctors but has on site pathology, podiatry, nurse treatment room and a number of other in house
heath services

I have been coming to this clinic now for as long as I can remember.

I prioritise visiting Dr Arj Herath who has been my GP for years. Thorough and no nonsense. Tells you how it is with me and that's how I prefer it.

Always Dillingent and honest.

I take my dad to see Dr George Stabelos, my dad loves going to see him. He is so attentive and caring. Totally professional.

My GP makes me comfortable, shows concern and answers my questions. Receptionists are friendly, wait times are reasonable and certainly shorter than wait times previously experienced at other clinics. Well done everyone.

I have been a patient if this clinic for 19 years. Dr George Stabelos is my current GP and has been for the past 9 years. One of the most compassionate, caring and wonderful Dr’s. Can’t speak highly enough of him.

Our family have attended Valewood Clinic since it first opened. We have always been very happy with the level of care, professionalism and friendliness of all the staff there.

Procrastinated about going to the Dr for back pain and eventually gave in as it has become debilitating. I was looking for support, a Diagnosis with an aim to fix it and maybe an optimistic assessment of the cause. In reality I was left feeling dismissed as though I Shouldn’t have come, that I was whining and wanted a quick prescription fix. I’m sure being GP isn’t easy so I‘m Prepared to cut them some slack, but ultimately that hasn’t helped my back and I’m in the same painful debilitating position apart from being a little discouraged to seek help in the future.

Have been coming here for 4 years now, the last 2 years l have been a patient of Dr Felix Wilk. He is a fantastic GP, always running on time and nothing is ever a problem for him.
In general I'm very happy with the clinic from the reception staff to the occasional other GP's I've had to visit.
Keep up the great work guys.

Dr Felix Wilk is my main doctor & he is an absolute delight to deal with, he really cares about his patients & take the time to get to know them.
I've recently starting seeing Dr Horvath, for advice on low carb eating. He is another wonderful doctor.

I have been with Valewood Medical Centre in Mulgrave, VIC for past 8 years where customer service is at the forefront of everything they do. They have also moved with the times, from booking an appointment over the phone to online booking, and 1-on-1 phone consultations with your doctor. These features makes seeing my doctor super easy. I highly recommend Valewood Medical Centre.

Extremely rude receptionists!
I went to the valewood clinic to get my vaccine done which is a necessary procedure for my Visa application. I asked the receptionist if my consultation will be covered within my healthcare cover, to which she very rudely said no in a rush and didn't say a word beyond. I sat down waiting to see the next person who could explain the process 'kindly'. I was asked by this receptionist to wait farther away in another seating area for God knows what reason but I obliged. The GP then took me to her room and I had a quick 2 minute chat about the purpose of my appointment where she mentioned that i should be able to get my consultant covered and have to only pay for the vaccine. I went back to the reception to convey the same message from the GP but got told in front of everyone again very rudely by the other receptionist now that my health-cover isn't medicare so I won't be getting any concession. Her tone was extremely condescending and kept on repeating the same thing as if I couldn't understand what she said. She charged me full consultation fee to which I replied that I don't wish to pursue my vaccination anymore as I was not even once told about their Consultation charges or guided at all about the cost! Both of these extremely rude receptionists had the audacity to say 'you cannot get out of the door before paying the consultation fee'. I literally had a 2 minute chat with the GP where she was helping me about my consultation fee and we didn't talk about any medical condition whatsoever. I did pay the fee and walked out. Would be nice to not act like you own the place and behave so poorly with the clients!
Will never recommend anyone going there! The staff is unbearably rude and mean.

Family has been seeing Dr. Ali Nguyen & Dr. Sangeeta Bansal for a while now! Highly recommend this clinic and these doctors:) Caring and very details in their approach. Keep it up!

I always find the Valewood Clinic very pleasant and the medical staff among the best I have experienced.

Could not be happier with all the staff, they are very professional and courteous every time I visit and my doctor Peter L has been a great help for me for the 7 years I have been seeing him

DO NOT visit this clinic. I waited for 45 minutes when it’s not even busy. If you want to waste your time then feel free. I waited just to see doctor pre injection (just be cause of procedure, and the.wait another 15 minute for the nurse to get the injection.

Not an acceptable risk during COVID-19

I was looking for a local DR when I moved from interstate. I was disappointed with my first try elsewhere but a family recommended Dr Bansal. I am very happy with Dr Bansal. She has a sense of humour, she is attentive and caring. I finally found my local Dr! I did not give five stars because the receptionist who attended me gave me the impression that she was unhappy and unwilling. Not at all a good first impression. Dr Bansal saved the day.

The best clinic in town. The friendliest staff and doctors. They are our preferred provider at our workplace and I go there privately too. Look for doctor Arj

I travel two hours just to go to this Clinic. Dr O'Keefe is wonderful for all those "women's problems, and Peter Lackner is amazing for the men in my life.

Dr Rita is the worst doctor I've ever consulted. Told her I've got sore throat and my head has been hurting for a few days now. She didn't even bother, taking my temp, checking BP, or even looking at my throat. She just brushed it off saying there's a viral infection going around. I've been here before and the other doctors are excellent. Just beware of her.
