Made the wrong purchase online over the weekend. I called up this morning and they sorted it out and refunded the purchase with no issues.

Shocking after purchase care - our first vacuum from here was faulty but it took them three months to replace it. The second vacuum was also faulty but the shop refused to accept responsibility and also took 4 weeks to make contact about it. Terrible service, people and place.

Despite what the shop states, no email was ever sent detailing the damage to the machine nor was water ever used anywhere near the new machine. After 5 uses, it simply stopped charging or working for more than 30 seconds. The refusal to refund or even contact us until a month had passed was outrageous.

We have used David from Vac City for many years and he is reliable and honest with advice with anything related to ducted vacuuming. He gives great go forward recommendations with and doesn’t up sell to replace the units until completely necessary. Give him a go if you wanted a trusted source. 5 stars all the way!

Update to below: I tried installing the bag holder. Not a fit. No blame. Tried contacting for assistance but no response. Not wanting money back just assistance to get the right one. I have written twice now.

David was very helpful with an issue I had with my Dyson stick vacuum cleaner. The beater head was scratching my new timber floors, so I contacted Dyson to purchase a soft brush head and was advised that it was not available anymore as the vacuum was too old, they then tried to sell me a new one at a considerable cost. I contacted Vac City and David was able to provide a brush head and connector at a very reasonable cost and had it posted to me straight away. Thanks David.

DO NOT ORDER. I ordered a filter online on the 30th July, and still have not received it. Have been chasing for 3 weeks now and they are unresponsive. When they do respond it is vague. Took weeks to say that the order has been tracked with AusPost but I still havent recieved anything and nor have they been able or willing to provide the tracking number. Avoiding giving any tracking number. I have an AusPost account and nothing relating to this appears. I understand there may be delivery issues due to Covid however they are not providing quality communication and will not provide a tracking reference. I have received many deliveries from all over Australia without a problem. I have spent $83.40 including delivery charges and so far nothing. They will not even respond to my requests for a refund. Poor service. Not happy. It is illegal for a business to accept payment for products or services they do not intend to supply.

Amazing service and expertise!

I have a Nilfix King 540 vacuum cleaner for many years.

The original vacuum cleaner bags were not readily available in the market. I contacted Vac City and they had it. I was so happy to get the bags from them. But the components in the loading system had been in dismantled condition.

Today 14 July 2021 I took my vaccuum cleaner and vacuum cleaner bag to them. The owner cum, 'an expert in the trade' David, not only assembled the components for me, HE DID IT ALL FREE. I did offer to pay for his time but he declined.

David is professional, and extremely knowledgeable. I needed a part and extra bags for my Miele shipped to me overseas. Despite numerous phone connection problems, David was super patient, and incredibly helpful. He even recommended a generic item that I was not aware of, that would do the trick, and tried his best to keep the shipping costs down to the minimum. I would wholeheartedly trust his advice. Amazing service that one does not see so often.

Made the HUGE mistake of taking my Dyson vacuum to Vac City to try to get a rubber trim on the floor head fixed or replaced. David the manager said it was only ‘worth while’ for him to do a service on the unit for $99 (plus parts) in order for him to then open the unit and look at fixing or replacing the trim with a second hand part. David was quick to up-sell to a service of the vacuum when I didn’t require it however I was happy to get it serviced provided my trim issue was also fixed. He was also quick to put my details in the system and asked for a deposit.

Received a call two days later saying my vacuum was ready for pickup and the filters needed to be replaced.
When I went to pick it up, I saw that the rubber trim was NOT even fixed! I don’t think it was even looked at. When I questioned David as to why it was not fixed, he took it out the back and after a few minutes came back saying it was difficult to fix and not a part that can be put back together after it comes loose. Asked why he didn’t tell me that when I first dropped it off but instead chose to sell me a service of the unit for $99, he said he needed to open it up to assess and yet the floor head wasn’t opened and only took him a few minutes to assess that he couldn’t fix it. David then accused me of being one of those people who ‘nit picks’ at issues to avoid paying. I told him that I was happy to pay for a service provided my issue with the trim was fixed however I would not accept having to be sold a service, when my original problem was not addressed.

After some arguing, I told him I would only pay for the new filters and not the service. He then proceeded to remove the new filters from my vacuum and gave the vacuum back to me. I told him if that was the case, I wanted my old filters back. He then put the new ones back on and said that the servicing was a ‘charity’ and pointed to the door. So I left.

After a few days, I rang Dyson support (upon advise from a family member) and they were super helpful. Told me to take it to their service centre which was not far. Took it there and it was immediately fixed on the spot - no charge!

Vac City was such a disappointment. David was unprofessional, lacked customer service, unknowledgeable on Dyson parts, dishonest about being able to fix an issue and tried to take advantage of a customer!

Below is my reply to the owner’s response of my review:

I am NOT a liar. My suction was fine and I didn’t have any issue with it. The rubber needed to be fixed because It was preventing the floor head from gliding - nothing wrong with having that fixed. Just because you did not know how to fix it, doesn’t mean Dyson didn’t. Dyson Service are the experts and they knew what to do straight away - which is what I couldn’t say about Vac City. It only took them 30 secs to put the part back together and so why wouldn’t they help a customer? Nothing was even mentioned about fixing anything after 5 years. Anyone with a Dyson should just go straight to Dyson service centre in Mt Waverley. I don’t need to do anything to make you look bad. The way you respond to all your bad reviews is already a reflection of how you run your business. Vilifying your customers does not make you look good.

Our Nilfisk P40 vacuum cleaner stopped working abruptly after many years. It is a very good solid machine with fantastic suction so after performing some troubleshooting thought we would see if it could be fixed at a reasonable price.
Vac City were great as we paid a $30.00 deposit to have it checked and fixed up to a max.of $129.00. If our vacuum could not be fixed for that price Vac City would contact us to discuss next steps.
Vac City fixed our Nilfisk and its great to have it back. As Easter was coming up David offered us a loan machine over Easter but was not needed in the end as we got our own machine back. Thank you.
