78Ordered vegetarian Nasi Goreng…pretty close to finishing when I had something crisp and chewy in my mouth, though maybe it’s a prawn shell. Took it out and it was a bug, a decent sized one at that. Called waitress over…apologetic and said she would get the manager. Slightly apologetic manager comes over and starts muttering about my meal not needing to be paid for. I said ‘No, it’s all free. ’ Her response…’but what about the wine? ’ I said ‘wrote it off honey’. Told her we were leaving and if she wanted to continue to discuss it I would talk very loudly about the bug in my meal. Needless to say we left and won’t be back.
Staying in Jan Juc for 10 weeks and have to say the food and the amazing customer service made this one of our culinary favorites
The staff were so refreshing and friendly we felt like we were treated like a regular customer
The food was fantastic, the atmosphere with wood fire relaxing and overall experience means we will return before we leave
Customer service was great and meals arrived at table quickly. Salt and Pepper Squid was very fresh and parma was also excellent.
Beautiful food and atmosphere. Kid friendly with a games room. Renovated and well lit. Customer service was good. Big meals, great cocktails and price is very reasonable for the great quality.
Love the decor! Very modern. My wife was a bit disappointed with the menu as it is a lot of meat/grill options. Good beer
New Year’s Eve in the dining room. (4 of us) Splendid cocktails were a good start. Great food, nice wine selection and excellent service. A special shout-out for the sticky date pudding… one of the best I have eaten!
Everyone's meals arrived besidea mine, and they only asked me when everyone was finished. Still didn't refund my meal, and when it arrived the battered fish was so oily.
Negative review on the food not staff. The food all came out cold, another table also voiced that theirs was cold so it wasn’t just us. We did complain and say the food was cold, fair considering we are paying the price we are and just what a nice meal. They took it to the kitchen and all they did was put it back in the deep fryer, our chips came back not edible, so we mentioned that to them. Finally we got a fresh warm meal (as we should) but it came with a threat from the chef! Said if it wasn’t good that time they would take them back and that was it! I’m excuse me we just wanted warm food!
Second the mussels still had beards on them and some of them had nothing in them ️
Thanks for ruining my mums birthday so sad the food wasn’t good as the wait staff and manager were amazing!
The price for rockling with some chips and salad was excessive. The fish was very oily, honestly being so close to the beach it was really disappointing. And as for a 15% surcharge on a public holiday, how ridiculous, it is the cost of business, don't want to wear the cost of penalties, don't open.
Some of the best meals we've ever had.
I had the salmon and my husband had the Mussels.
Great playroom for the kids.
I also enjoyed the cocktail called the Hugo spritz.
Fantastic atmosphere and great service.
Will definitely be back.
Went wild here on NYE. Bundy Rum and Coke well priced. The no shots policy detracted from the experience somewhat, but equally probably added to my experience of the next day by from preventing me from being really stupid. Meal was good, always nice to be in a pub that has just been renovated using the money from all the pensions, and apprentices wages that have gone through the brickies laptops out the back.
Very impressed with the meal, the service and the dining setting. Our meals were spot on apart from a slightly over toasted garlic ciabatta. The baby snapper was sensational. The quality was better than many restaurants. Then to top it off, we saw an awesome live performance in the beer garden from a ripping Aussie band, Boy and Bear. A brilliant night all round.
Great to see it open busy friendly hope we stay that way as Victoria needs to stay open the arts and pubs clubs
Best Nasi Goreng and Passionfruit Martini I’ve eva had. So respectful staff and kind people highly recommended guys
I was served by a red head named dAisy. She was a great bartender and remembered my name all night. I asked for a vodka lime and soda. She gave me an amazing ratio of vodka…line… and soda. She seems like a great employee. I’ve travelled all the way from Bonnie Doon to see daisy the bartender, and I was more than impressed. Never let her go - Florence and the Machine.
The staff & menu were fantastic. Everything we chose to eat was delicious (loved the grain salad!)
We were very impressed with how quickly we were served & fed which is handy with 4 kids in tow & all of the staff were polite & incredibly accommodating. Can't wait to visit again! Thanks.
Great staff, well presented and relaxed with all the conveniences of accommodation food beer wine and play area for the kids.
Amazing food and service! The paella was on special and it’s an absolute must! It was amazing and should definitely be on the regular menu!
Zero table service a 15% surcharge for that zero service cold and dry meals that most certainly are waiting in the kitchen in a Bain Marie to be reheated a with over 15 staff visible and not one person attended our table.
Great food. Great drinks. Great service. All the things you want in an experience. Thanks crew.
