Third Wave Cafe

We are very impressed! Tonight we ordered food thinking that it would be amazing. We recieved a call to inform us that the delivery driver broke down and that dinner would arrive late. Although we were a bit disappointed but respected the fact that the delivery driver did not have control. Once the food arrived we were super impressed because the food was fresh, warm and delicious. Thank you so much for respectfully letting us know the food would arrive late and giving us something amazing. We are highly impressed!

Was dying to try here for some food after following their Instagram page for a while and seeing the giant portions. Was not disappointed, I had the Cheese stick fries which i believe were a special at the time and the Hangover Over which I didn't expect to be so big! Both were amazing, definitely would recommend this place, great coffees too!

The conversion from previously hearty and healthy food to American food hasn't impressed me. It seems I am not the only one as I haven't seen the cafe so empty. The service, however, is very friendly.

Was busy, which is usually a good sign. Staff were friendly, and meals were served in good time. Had a burger, which was great. Will definitely go back and try a few of the BBQ options.

Great hidden little gem! To walk past it you wouldn't think what was inside was some of the best ribs you could find in Melbourne and then to have unique creative monthly specials you would never think of being a thing, but they are, and they taste great.

Only negative was very small amount of seating area inside and outside under heating for how popular it is, I advise to book in advance. Certainly will be back to try more on the menu!

Everything you try here is just delicious. Either Breakfast, Lunch or dinner. My fav breakfast dish is the green Eggs. As an american that used to lived in Texas, I love this place. It does make Authentic BBQ meal. Services is always good too. My husband love the milkshakes:)

Food was good, portions were good sized in some things but you definitely pay for it. Not on the cheaper side of eats.which is fine.
The reason for the stars is the customer service was pretty ordinary. We arrived and had a bit of a muck around (from our end) with tables. But the staff took it really poorly and did not handle the change in booking well at all.to the point where we felt like a burden being eating there. Won't be rushing back any time soon.

Food was good, but was expensive. My wife is vegetarian and there was nothing she could eat so we custom made breakfast with sides which coated us more than double of a standard brekkie dish. Coffee was good.
Overall ok, not very many options for vegetarians.

Awesome menu in a quiet locale. Burger bursting in Flavour can seem a little pricey but once you begin enjoying the food you can instantly appreciate the love and quality put into the food at the Third Wave Cafe. GREAT JOB GUYS!

That bacon base pizza was next level! Its what brought me there - I had seen a video of it on Facebook and my girlfriend and I were there within 48 hours. The video didn't do it justice. It was absolutely amazing. I was staring at everyone's dishes coming out and just in awe at every dish! Very rarely do I find a restaurant where I want to try almost everything on the menu. We also had the Chicken quesadilla and it was the best I've ever had - and I've been to Mexico! The peanut butter & Nutella tart was divine especially with a scoop of salted caramel ice cream. I'll definitely be back time after time - well worth the trip down to Port Melbourne.

I unfortunately didn’t have the greatest experience here tonight. It started with our drinks being served wrong then two of our dishes never showed up, upon asking for them we were informed that they were given to a different table, it wasn’t even that busy so I don’t understand how this could have happened. I ordered a Naked Cheeseburger and there was way too much mustard on the burger and it was so overpowering that it made me physically sick and I was only able to stomach one bite. It wasn’t all bad, the chips I was able to eat, even though they showed up super late, we’re cooked to perfection and my friends seemed to really enjoy their food.
I’m a little bit bummed out because I’d heard such rave reviews about this place, in saying that I guess American style food just isn’t for me.
I honestly believe it’s worth a try though, you’ll never know unless you do!

Absolutely unremarkable.

I had a burger referred to as Juicy Lucy which was quite the opposite - dry and had a peculiar flavor, generally not associated with burgers.

On the positive beer was good.

Really nice service, amazing coffee and amazing food. This place is in a really nice and not too busy place in south Melbourne perfect for a relaxing meal!

Greg was incredibly accommodating and helpful throughout our order.
I reached out to Third Wave for an in-office team lunch, I gave him my budget and number of people to cater for and Greg suggested a menu, ensuring no one would go hungry.
Greg delivered on the dot and the team absolutely loved all the food. And not one person was left hungry!

Thought the beef ribs were spectacular. I must say the bounty milkshake was amazing too. Happy we went there for my friends birthday. I will be coming again very soon:)

Great atmosphere. Quality burgers. I had the Juicy Lucy which, imo, was definitely delicious. However they forgot to bring out our ribs: (but they discounted our bill by taking the chips of the bill:)

Best Cafe I have ever been in Melbourne so far! Cosy environment, very friendly staff and delicious food. Best things are the specials. Every month a different menu with the most incredible recipes. Congratulations to all the team! Keep up the great work.
