A very fun menu and friendly service.
I was wanting to try Third Wave for a while and decided on my first visit that I must have a burger.
The flavours were certainly unique and you can really taste the charred flavours of the meat which is what I think makes this place stand out.
I am definitely curious to try the rest of their menu, particularly the giant sharing platters with a group of friends!

We went yesterday evening with my son and my husband.
The food was amazing!
We had a Pizzadilla and some beef ribs.
The portions are massive and the meet is beautifully cooked in a pure American style.
I would recommend it to anyone in search of being full filled with delicious food!

I was salivating over my BBQ DINOSAUR RIBS, way before i sunk my teeth into that tender, delicious meat. Truly a satisfying experience to be had. Leave room for dessert.
I can't wait to try the rest of the menu.

I ordered take away, large of the beef brisket (which is double the small order) expecting to be able to share. Absolutely overpriced for what you get. Never again. About $70 for what looked like the small. 5 or 6 pieces of fatty meat that leaked all over the box and bag, cheap salad and a weird cake bread (which didn't compliment at all) is not a $70 meal. Overpriced and underwhelming.

It was just an average experience. The food were presented well but it was bland.it doesn't have that smoky flavor as described. I think the prices are too much for an average serve plus charged with extra 5% because its on a Saturday. I registered in the website to get a birthday voucher but I didn't get to use my birthday voucher as this was on a lock down but they should have considered the voucher. It was not worth the 40 minute drive. It was worth trying though.

Let me say one thing straight off the bat; the food is fine. Good, even. But it is not "American BBQ". At least, it tastes nothing like American BBQ. My group had brisket, beef ribs, and wings. There wasn't an ounce of any smoke flavor to be detected in anything we had. The brisket did have a smoke ring, but there was absolutely no bark and once again, not a hint of evidence via flavor that it spent any time in a smoker. The beef ribs came out slathered in sauce which is a bit of warning sign that the restaurant is trying to cover up some corner-cutting measures in the cooking process. The wings were tasty but once again, no smoke, which is pretty surprising because wings only need to spend like 45 minutes on a proper smoker to get nice and smoky.

This place seems to think that BBQ means "fall-off-the-bone". No. Moist meat certainly is fine, but to me, everything tasted like it had been braised instead of cooked on a smoker. Was really disappointed, especially because the place isn't exactly cheap.

If you want proper BBQ in Melbourne, go to Bluebonnet.

What a find! I love American BBQ and have smoked many a brisket and ribs and chickens. And what I was served here was quite impressive.
Tenter, juicy and with an lovely smoke ring, the meats were amazing.

We drive through peak hour traffic from the other side of to eat at Third Wave, its just that good!
Service is always friendly and welcoming!
But the real drawcard is the food as it is amazing. We always try the monthly specials and we have had the Pizzadilla twice in the last two weeks, dont worry if you cant finish it heats up well in the microwave and tastes just as good the next day. Would also recommend the Ribovlaki.
We have tried many items on the menu and never been dissappointed!
Food is alway cooked well and not greasy except for the beautiful meat juices.
They also offer a very generous birrthday voucher for members.
If you are a meat lover you simply must check Third Wave out!

Fantastic BBQ style foods and staff to match. Great layout of restaurant and use of space, even when full, I was still able to hear the all the people on my table and no feeling of being crammed in. I have visited her 3 times now and each time gets better and better. Highly recommended

I've been to Third Wave more times than I can remember. Every time it's been amazing, and take new friends and family members there each time. Love your work guys!

Generally good experience, we had the pork ribs lamb quesadilla candied bacon and onion rings
Lamb quesadillas were absolutely amazing!
The ribs though. For that price I expect a lot more. The meat was a touch dry, the marinade didn't cover that up. The marinade itself was okay but nothing special, again for that price I expect a lot more. I had 25 bucks ribs on Victoria street that were better
Other than the ribs everything was lovely! The Baileys milkshake is amazing too

They are unique in their expertise in gastronomy and their food is always very delicious. However the table service and timeliness leaves much to be desired. On many occasions they have either completely forgotten about our order or have been more than an hour late and without so much of any apology or communication. So there's that. And in those cases they don't even know what is happening upon asking. One would think that using their online dine-in ordering app would increase efficiency. Anyway, without being overly critical, it's a must try place for something unique.

Can't believe they can't modify a burger (take an item out such as bacon) how hard can it be! It would save you produce and money too, as well as meet customer needs. Crazy.

It was printed on the menu that there is no modifications and nothing was explained that new years day was an exception. I am not sure why you would need an extra staff member or extra time to take an ingredient out of a burger (s). It would actually save you time

Never been to a restaurant or cafe that doesn't modify (unless it's something like a sauce that's pre made which is understandable)

I had booked a table for 6 people on Saturday 3/11, my family and I had been there many times and have never had an issue with this restaurant but the second we walked in the door it was a terrible experience. We were left standing there waiting to be seated for quite some time, then after we ordered our food and drinks we had to ask 3 separate times for our drinks. Then only 4 people from our table actually ended up getting there food, we were sitting there for an hour and a half in total and all they offered was to give us "a couple of desserts on us" which was fine, however we were still waiting half an hour without food after that offer was given. We had an event booked after dinner on the other side of Melbourne which forced us to leave without the last 2 patrons order. This experience has left a bad taste in our mouths about Third Wave Cafe and I dont think we will be returning or recommending our friends anymore.

Yummy experience in a hidden spot, though the serving could be a lot more generous, they are with good flavours. Interesting menu and environment, the seating is a bit small so there isn't enough room to put 2 mains. Coffee was so so and service wasn't as good as the other branch on the main road, hopefully they'd improve for my next visit.

I was there with some friends late September during the afternoon for lunch, very chilled atmosphere, being from North America I can definitely appreciate what Third wave cafe are doing!
The services was on point and efficient and the food was second to none! Thank you guys for the great experience I’ll be back.

After seeing all the online promotion for the all you can eat americam bbq i could no longer resist the temptation and booked in for a date night with the hubby. The online promotion didnt give much detail about what the offer was exactly just that it was all you can eat meat, sides and desserts. So i looked at the website to see what meat, sides and desserts they had on their menu to prepare myself for the amazing night ahead. When we got there we realized that the sides they offered on the all you can eat menu were only coleslaw, pickles and corn bread; which i would have been fine with had i known before hand but couldnt find any info online about what was offered with the deal so id already gotten excited about having mac n cheese which was on the regular menu. Also pork ribs cost an extra $10. Then the waiter came to take our order and off the bat explained that we only get dessert if we eat all the mear we order. Wasnt a great feeling to start off with to be honest. I started to feel like an unwelcome guest who had been scammed into being there with an offere that was promoted to look better than it is. There were also preselected entrees that we didnt particularly want to eat all of but felt pressured to do so because if we didnt we dont get dessert. So by the time i could order the beef ribs that i was so excited about i was already half full; i feel like the menu was purposefully designed this way making it feel more scammy yet again. We ordered 3 mains, beef ribs, brisket and lamb. The latter 2 were very boring but the beef ribs were to die for! Whenever we asked for more of something the waiters had a hesitant vibe as if we were not supposed to be ordering more even though the deal is all you can eat. It made for an unpleasant night even though the food was good overall and the ribs were amazing i would not go back as i felt unwelcome there.

One of the best coffee I have ever had. Also loved the Naked cheeseburger. Delicious and great selection of food. The service is also amazing! Definitely a must go to for everyone.
