The Westin Melbourne reviews
69 We have stayed here a number of times of the past few years and as yet can't fault the hotel, their service or rooms. One of Melbourne best 5 hotels.
They will always have very good package deals on to take advantage of and really easy work to anything you would like to do in the CBD.
Very relaxed for a high falooten hotel. Saw Stubbsy there as part of comedy festival.he was hilarious.
Superb location, a nice covered driveway, and a surprisingly decent lobby. Rooms are ordinary but pretty solid as well.
Just beware of the cost for the (slow) valet, too. It's big city pricing to park.which is fair, since MEL is a huge city, but it's painful additional expense if you do need a car.
And I hate to heap too much praise on the location, but it really is excellent. 2 or 3 short blocks to most places you'd want to go, at least as a tourist- yet since it's not on the waterfront or worst of the tourist streets directly, it's also nice and calm at the hotel.
This has got to be the only Westin that I've stayed at that lacks an executive lounge (and I've stayed at many Westins all over the world). Isn't this a requirement of the Westin brand?
Little to no recognition of Marriott Ambassador Elite status. Received a room with a "heritage" view and they called that an "upgrade" despite status entitlement and availability of suites upon check-in.
The lady who checked me in also failed to provide any information regarding my benefits, hotel facilities, etc.as per the standard practice. This then turned into an interview session where I had to ask one question after another. Upon bringing up the issue of the missing lounge benefits I was given a coupon for a free drink & another one for a $25 breakfast discount. I found this slightly insulting to be honest.
There was just one in-room internet type (no premium connection available) and it kept resetting itself every few minutes; pretty annoying especially for downloading files and/or streaming.
The room, however, was well-appointed with adequate temperature control & I had a good night's sleep. The location of the hotel was also quite central & convenient for shopping & sightseeing. However, these were just about the only plus points.
The Front Office Manager who processed my check-out somehow double-charged my credit card & told me that it was basically my bank's error for sending me the wrong totals. Seriously? I know my bank & I've used their services for years. They have never sent me any wrong info ever. I'm still awaiting remedial action for this by the hotel.
Overall, considering their price tag of upwards of 300 Australian Dollars per night for an entry-level standard room, and blatant disregard for The Westin standards that we have all come to know and expect, this is poor value for money and will most likely be my first and last stay here.
Recognition of your loyal big spenders is an important facet of hotel business. By trying to be cheap and denying them of their entitlements, you're only driving them towards your brand competitors-which is what I'll probably do the next time I'm in the area.
Beautiful place. We were only there for the comedy show, but the whole place looks amazing. I want to stay there now.
Have had a high tea there and proposed to my gorgeous partner and tonight we had a beautiful sparkling and charcuterie board before the jersey boys at the Regent opening night. The whole experience was wonderful.
One of the best hotel in Melbourne. That's why so many important guests of special events always stay here.
They have complete facilities for their guests from business to health needs.
Dine in facility is also 5 stars.
What a rip off.
Bring plenty of money because nothing is cheap or reasonably priced.
Never coming back.
Luxurious hotel, friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere. Well worth the price for a bit of luxury. City view rooms are great
Thank goodness girl on front desk didn't follow BONVOY BS, correctly upgraded me under original SPG rules.
Par for the course for a Westin - classy, comfy, business friendly. Also, great location in downtown Melbourne
A quiet oasis in the middle of the city. Great place to stop over a cup of tea and a melting moment before going to the theatre
Great comedy hotel. Requested a room service menu on 3 occasions over 2 days. Never arrived but they eventually sent us a pedestal fan. Very grateful to Uber eats.
Great location!
Stayed the deluxe room's but toilet and bath amenities are not fully including like shaver, tooth brush & past, comb.other are fine.
Wanted to take a relaxing break with my wife, really nice atmosphere, spacious room, excellent service and attentive staff. A bit pricey though.
Really nice business hotel in a very central location. The staff is always very helpful and friendly. The large bathrooms with large tub and separate shower are really good and the Westin beds are always my favourite.
Late night drinks. Ordered an old fashioned and it came with a preserved (medicine flavour) cherry and desiccated slice of orange. Nothing special to talk about.

As you can tell this was a wonderful hotel, all the staff couldn't do enough for us. We would 100% recommend this hotel for a holiday.
Stayed at other different 5 stars hotel but i had the worst experience at this hotel.not really welcoming here~ Breakfast chef jerry was very nice to other caucasian but very rude to asians like myself and my mom. Booked two room for my dad's 70th birthday paid top money and get low treatment.
This is one of the best Westerns I have stayed at. Service is top notch, rooms are spacious and location is the best in Melbourne. Only downside is the great big hole in the ground directly outside the hotel where they are building a subway station, but this is only temporary. I will stay here again.
