The Stables of Como Cafe

Lovely old historical setting but Air conditioner broken & manager refused to open windows to ventilate restaurant. Completely disorganised & inexperienced sevice team. They were friendly & tried to help but with limited English language understanding & no support from event management & kitchen (chef etc) it was a disappointing special family lunch overall. Will not return & do not reccomend for a group booking.

Lovely place, but very standard food.

Nothing special food wise, could cook the most of it at home better. Coffees where great hence two stars.

If coffes wher not good it would be zero.

Staff are lovely

Food was nice, venue was lovely and service was a little disorganised but friendly nonetheless. Set menus with different drink options, and although the portions were smaller than expected, the food was delicious. Both indoor and outdoor seating available.

Things have really changed for the worst. Quality and service have plummeted. It's really sad. I used to loved this place.

Awesome place, awesome service, amazing outlook.do yourself a favour and go! I came with my pooch, and the team were so accommodating to him, it’s not often you find a place that is pet friendly in a real sense.

I loved this place I came here with my partner for our anniversary and it couldn't have been better. The staff was very friendly and the food was delicious! Can't wait to be back!

Staff were friendly and helpful, however, our picnic set had dirty glasses. Food was good but average for the price. The garden area was nice. Nice bathrooms and generously sized picnic blanket for 2.

From the time we arrived to the time we left you could not fault the staff. They are warm, welcoming friendly and courteous. There even took spoilt our fur babies with a treat. The constant attention, checking on us while we waited for a friend.

The menu selection, food and beverage is mouth watering. Our friend and I had the corn and zucchini fritters, and our only criticism is that they were doughy in the middle. Either to big to be cooked through or absorbed too much oil. A little disappointing. However very tasty.

Great atmosphere, Great service. Puppy friendly.

Terrible service. Once is excused but twice can't be. Waitress just wandered around nearly empty room till we had to go to counter to ask if there was table service. Even then she took her time coming over. Complained they were short staffed when we mentioned how long it took her and we queried how long a coffee would take to arrive. Don't bother - the staff don't seem to.

So nice when you receive service from a bubbly staff member, and to get great coffee on top of that? A shout out to Talitha. Thank you so much you made my day.

Coffee is spot on. Great place to drop in for my morning take aways. All-Press beans and really cool staff.

Bottomless brunch, anyone? Check out Stables of Como for their bottomless brunch featuring a never-ending flow of DIY mimosa, and paired with bite-sized treats such as mini Nutella pancakes, avo toasts, and bagels. Such a fun time and a delicious meal, perfect for the summer days ahead.

This is one of those almost secret places that is slipped away within the Como House grounds that is a fantastic place to escape the city. Good food and service.

Place is really nice and it's great that you can order food and have a picnic in the gardens.
We sat at the café and really enjoyed both the food and setting!

: Been wanting to try The Stables of Comp for a long time since I was visiting Melbourne for vacation.

️: This Bottomless Brunch was perfect for the New Year. The bagel was super delicious (better than I was expecting), and the cocktails were refreshing and creative.

Really bad. Kitchen closed early as they weren't feeling up to doing their jobs. Had to choose a sandwich from the cabinet that was stale and extremely underwhelming. Its a shame the quality of the food doesn't match the quality of its surroundings.

Coffee: 5/5 strong coffee flavour just how I like it and at the right temperature
Food: 4/5 some dishes were average with a few that stood out, the chicken sandwich was excellent.
Service 4/5: quick service, some difficulties with orders.
Decor 5/5: nicely decorated establishment that's well maintained with its own identity and character.
Experience 4/5: overall quite a good experience especially after dining and visiting the estate grounds and garden, great today since it was sunny.

Great service and quick food. The coffee was delicious, best of Melbourne standards. The gardener's breakfast was average. Loved sitting outside on the sun though.

Disappointed. The music was LOUD and ANNOYING. Service was scattered. Food was just OK and the menu extremely limited. I wish I had done more research before booking here. Maybe it was just the first opening kinks that haven't been worked out yet. Also during the week there are no specials. A lot of room for improvement here. Nothing remarkable.
