The Savoy Hotel on Little Collins Melbourne

All in all - a fairly ordinary experience. No room service available and very little information given by reception staff. I was fairly unimpressed by the rooms and the breakfast was terrible! Won’t be going back any time soon

Fabulous Christmas Day spread! Alison, Ram and the crew delivered a wonderful traditional buffet lunch with all the trimmings and then some. Lovely old world venue great vibe. And very attentive staff. Merry Christmas to all!

Lovely building with old world charm and character. Staff were great and the barman gave us a run down on the history of the cocktails that were on offer and created especially for the Savoy.

Just right across Southern Cross Station. Very convenient place. We had steak dinner here and it was soooo good. The sauce was mouth watering. The staff are friendly at the bar. I am not a drinker but, the staff gave us a warm wine with some citrus tastes and I absolutely love it. The customer service is fantastic. If any tourist will check in here there is a closeby DFO factory prices on branded clothes and shoes just on the side of souther cross station. Walking distance from the hotel. A lot of fast food chains around and coffee shops as well.

If you are after a small wedding this is an excellent choice as a venue. They have separate rooms for ceremony and reception, there are plenty of spots for nice photos and the food is fantastic.

Smells amazing in the lobby. Nice room, spacious. Staff were helpful when I needed to check in after midnight

Had our wedding reception at The Savoy. From the very first appointment with the staff up to and including leaving, every staff member very helpful. The Savoy is a grand piece of Melbourne history and a great place to stay.

Perfect location for tourists and business travellers, opposite to Southern Cross station. The room was small, not many amenities, cleanliness and maintenance issues, and very very dry. The breakfast buffet was not bad. Anyway, the location is almost unbeatable.

Loved my stay. Was so amazing. Didnt hear traffic. Rooms were so clean and comfy. Just so lovely and the restaurant has such lovely service.

No parking at the hotel, tiny dark rooms, no view even from the top floor. Though the hotel is centrally located.

Very disappointed that a hotel in this price range, does not have netflix capabilities. Smart TV is adjusted so you cannot use it for netflix etc.free to air TV only.

I loved the Savoy. Felt like I could step back in time. If you want to be close to Southern cross perfect. Tram ride down to Flinders. But the room was super comfortable and brilliant. The service was ace. My husband and I said we would stay again. Just ask about parking if you plan on booking. They have had hassle with it of late.

On arrival the front desk staff are great. The rooms were good, clean the bed was firm.
Went to the bar and had terrible service. Order 2 drinks had to wait over 15 minutes while the woman decided to serve a group of business men first. When asking where our drinks were she said it's ok. No it's not ok to take our order then serve others. We Did mention our bad service to the front desk and he apologized.

Beautifully clean and comfortable rooms. The atmosphere they have created in the foyer and bar area made it hard to leave for our planned night out. We will definitely be staying here again when visiting Melbourne

How much do you have to spend for working air con? It was on and off all night. Way to hot, then way too cold. The sheets were stiff and loud and suffocating. The breakfast was 20 minutes late.we needed an early breakfast as we ended up running late for meetings. When trying to make a pointed joke out of it i got steely eyed by the waiter and never an apology. In my experience, 5 star breakfasts usually come with something bubbly too. The spa staff were also very short with us. I'm not unpleasant and expect the best from people, so felt a bit like a second class citizen intruding on the hotels business.the good side, there was a great view from our window of Southern Cross station. The reception staff were also very polite.

Excellent location, room service is tasty, I really like the seafood linguine.
Staff was friendly. But the amount of time needed for someone to answer the hotel phone line is quite long.

They don’t have slippers and toothbrush kit, I think this is a common thing in Australia hotels. I find this common thing annoying.

Highly recommend the hotel spa.

Our home away from home. Manu and the creception staff are allways welcoming, friendly and efficient. Rooms quiet and clean. We have stayed here many times during this ling visit to Oz. See you guys in 2023!

We really enjoyed our stay here. We stayed in an executive king room and it was huge. The bed was seriously comfortable and the pillows were great. Our view was the sloping roof of Spencer's st station which is actually quite attractive. The front desk staff were excellent. The barman was great. The bath towels were very small. We had a buffet breakfast. The food was fine. But the service was pretty average. We understand with covid there have been staff issues everywhere. But the buffet was not replenished regularly. There was no bread for over 15 minutes. So people were just waiting for toast. No green tea. No tomato sauce for hash browns. Really need to look at the F & B area. The maître D was not friendly. We would return we liked the hotel.

We were able to check-in at 10am and checkout at 12pm.hotel room is stylish and comfortable and a great view of the city. Breakfast was also included in the room rate but it was not very good. Bad machine coffee and the food was basic and under seasoned

Nice room, good size, modern, clean. Hot shower. Perfect location if you want to stay close to Southern Cross station (just across the road). Also has a bar and gym.
