The Quarter

This café provided excellent service and looked after me and my baby when the other two cafes next-door would not. When the other two cafes refused to cater for our allergies and make me any food that was dairy, egg and soy free, The Quarter did. They were so kind to let me take my food to the table of the next doore café where my husband had ordered. They looked after the next-door Cafe also, by suggesting I order my coffee with that Cafe as I was sitting at their table. The food came out super quickly and was very fresh and delicious. I would recommend their food and after having a terrible experience with the other Cafe, would only go to The Quarter in the future. Felt respected and valued.

I guess it’s a cool place to sit outside and the service was good. Unfortunately, the food was not…very bland and dry. Was left incredibly disappointed in that aspect

In response to your question: Yes I did inform both the person at the front counter, and my partner also to the waiter when we were asked. Pulled pork was dry it ruined the eggs Benny. Hotcakes hard & dry same issue. Service great, location awesome, food only issue. Thank you

Amazing service, amazing food, I'd give it 5 stars but it loses. 5 for the pricing (while its worth every cent, it took a big chunk out of my bank account) and. 5 for how loud & busy it was- but that's really just a testament for how great the place is. And do yourself a favour and get the lamb ribs, you can thank me later

Fantastic customer service. All staff are warm, welcoming and friendly. The food is devine, I highly recommend the Crab Benedict and the Big Warm Hug cocktail out of this world. This has become a city visit ritual, can't wait to come back.

A wonderfully quaint cafe with beautiful vibes inside. Served me the best hot chocolate in a little mason jar mug. Definitely will be returning here every time I have breakfast in the city!

Nothing we ordered was worth the price.really. Couldn't even finish one plate. One of the things we ordered was the crab & mango salad - the fishiness and the smell was insanely bad.the only good thing about this place is the atmosphere and their cocktails

This is our favourite breakfast cafe in Melbourne. We've been going to The Quarter for years and the service and quality of food is always top class. Thoroughly recommend The Quarter!

Just had lovely lunch of bao buns at The Quarter, Degraves Street, with friendly, smiling staff in a cosy setting. Great place for a casual meal in the city.

We come here for breakfast every time we visit Melbourne, which we have been doing for +/- 20 years. That probably says all you need to know?

I have been here on two separate occasions for brunch and each time have been very happy with the friendly service and great food.
I very intermit café with loads of character.
A great spot for coffee and brunch.

The service was great and the waitstaff were all friendly, however unfortunately the food was very below average. There was a lack of breakfast choices beyond the below average standard cafe options (scrambled eggs, etc), and what was on offer was overpriced considering the quality, the portion size and presentation of the food. We unfortunately ordered the açai which was a mistake considering its very small serving despite the price, it was also watery and did not taste edible. The coffee tasted off and was below average standard. Hopefully management can take some of these points and improve on them, but until then I won’t be dining here again.

Easily the best Cafe on Degraves. The coffee is perfect and the crab Benedict is out of this world good. Highly recommend

Have eaten here before and good but on Melbourne Cup morning the food was well below average and luke warm coffee then hit with a 20% Melb Cup surcharge. Sorry you've lost my business.

We found this place to be fondly rude and eprupt service. When ask the waiter twice for our coffees to be told they were busy with half the place empty and we had nearly finished our meal. I then proceed to the counter with the barista giving me a mouthful. 1 star for the food. Support other local business would be my advice to others.

Love it there. Cost, so friendly and the food is amazing. Took the kids there after a day of harry potter in the city and they felt like they were in diagon alley.

Nice cozy place in the heart of CBD. Really good coffee has a sweet note to it.
Food is not bad either bit expensive as compared to other good cafe.the portions are small as compared to what I paid, there are much better cafe worth trying.the price and the food quality just dont match.

My friend and I just walked in the flinders lane, and were looking for something to have.
We were welcomed to the quarter, really nice staff and more importantly excellent customer service.

We ordered chicken Parma and Gnocchi.
I can say the portions were quite small, and I wish my chicken Parma had tomato sauce on top rather than actual slices of a tomato. That would be juicier and nicer. The Parma came with either chips or salad, which I rather the chips, cut nicely and crispy.
The gnocchi was quite garlicky which we didn’t know when we ordered, but that was alright, but if you don’t like too much garlic don’t get the gnocchi.
