Had family member there many times years ago and the treatment was deplorable! Many terrible memories!

Its up to each person but there are all the tools to get better here. Everyone is friendly including the cleaners and kitchen staff. There's healthy food and a gym and swimming pool around the corner. TMS treatment keeps depression at bay and the TMS staff treat you like family. Dr. Wehbe really cares about her patients. Ive had no bad experiences here.

This facility is grossly overpriced. Not equipped to deal with patients with complex issues such as Acquired brain injury. (which quite often come with.drug and alcohol abuse) $840 per day, no timetabled "programs" as stated in brochures. Extremely sloppy discharge, after hours 8.00pm. Our family member had decided he was happy to stay the full 21 days, however after the initial 10 days out you go. Toldat 5.00pm must leave tonight even if it is as late as 9.00pm. Would have been cheaper to put him up in a hotel with a support worker, away from home with same medication, for less than half, No disharge plan No follow up.
Had to leave 1 star to submit review, not even deserving of that.

Dr Julie Webhe is a very caring person. She helped my partner get through the worst time of our life. However, her receptionist, Michael, is a nightmare. He keeps messing up the appointments. He shows ZERO care & ZERO understanding towards patients. He sometimes even scolded at my psychologically vulnerable partner.

This hospital is just about ripping vulnerable people off. The contract that is signed between the Doctors and patients is so ridiculously in favour of the Doctors, that it leaves patients who are in need of some flexibility due to the nature of their illnesses out if pocket even if they call and cancel appointment 24 hrs in advance. This in my opinion shows how much care the hospital puts toward their paitents. Shame on you Dr S. Chau

Everything bad I read in the other reviews matches my experiences 12 years ago. Including an incompetent misdiagnosis given in 30 minutes that had me on a completely unnecessary medication for 11 years.

* If you read the language used in the positive reviews (from reviewers with 1 review), They seem clearly fake. The structure and content of them is all as if written by the same person, Even the length of the sentences are bizarrely almost identical. Go read articles on how to spot fake reviews and see for yourself. This is a profiteering business not a hospital.

On my last admission, I took a serious fall in the shower on the morning I was to be discharged, which I reported to two nurses on my unit. They were so busy, they couldn't even find the time to takes my obs before I left. I doubt the incident even made it into the notes. The level of care at this hospital has sunk to a level which is beyond deplorable; it's virtually non-existent. I have since spent time on the psych ward at a public hospital, which compared to TMC remarkablly well - this doesn't say a lot for the Melbourne Clinic as a private facility. I've had an almost 30-year association with the TMC; it's over now, I will never go back, nor would I ever recommend going there to anyone else. One enters hospital in the hope of getting better, not to end up feeling so much worse. Disgraceful. If possible, I'd rate it zero stars.

Fantastic hospital. Great nursing staff, freshly renovated rooms. The food was mostly ok. Definitely a great psych hospital

I recently had my first admission despite having had psychiatric treatment for several years. I was so nervous but my psychiatrist was able to organise a tour of the hospital so I can see what things were like before making a decision. This really helped reduce my anxiety. I found the nursing staff to be very caring despite being very busy. I was lucky enough to be on one of the new wards which was really nice as it had a really large decking area. It's a shame the space wasn't open but I guess it needs to be enclosed for safety reasons. For anyone hesitant about being admitted make sure you visit the hospital and have a look beforehand. And for anyone looking for a great psychiatrist, get a referral to Dr Steven Chau. He has literally saved my life!

Have been trying to chase up my submitted referral to Dr Astma Tomar twice now, with no regards what’s so ever. Could have seen another by now, especially in the case that this is so vital in regards to mental health. Not good enough. Would recommend to try ANYWHERE else.

Avoid Dr Joel King. Treated me with contempt and a condescending, presumptuous attitude. Felt more like he was the headmaster/principal and I'm the helpless student.

He never bothered to listen to me, always jumping to conclusions. Became impatient when I forgot what he said, only after once and rushed me to exit his room even though I needed him to repeat what he told me as it concerned important medication info. He knew I had memory problems, but still chose his pride above all else.

Never, ever again.

I put in a bad review on my last admission staying in unit one. This admission I was in unit four, nice room attentive staff. All nurses cared for me on a regular basis and seemed genuinely concerned for my wellbeing. Thankyou from the bottom of my heart.

I could only assume the unit manager makes all the difference.

I took my brother to see dr odette Edelsten. A cold callous financially obsessed woman who was a complete waste of time. A nasty arrogant and spiteful piece of work who has no problems getting the authorities involved if someone has the temerity to have a different view to her. Needs to shed a few kilograms. Fortunately his experience with the next doctor was far better

Whilst volunteering for a clinical trial I had three months of my time wasted and although eligible, I was never screened as the clinical staff were so inept that I was asked the same question 3 times on 3 separate occasions by two different staff. Perhaps taking notes and reading them may serve you well. I put my treatment on hold whilst waiting for this trial, to my absolute detriment. As one gets older it becomes so obvious when people 'have a job' or 'have a vocation'.

The receptionist at the consultation suite need little sugar on their face and their heart - which is absolutely important for the front desk people in a place like medical centre.

Thank you to the amazing nurses at the Melbourne clinic for being so caring and helpful when I was in a bad place. I did not want to go to hospital and at times I was pretty hard on the nurses but they treated me as a person and showed my dignity and respect. I am doing much better now and I no for sure I would not be in the good place I am now it it wasn’t for the nursing staff and the groups at the Melbourne clinic. Thank you for believing in me

This place is like a factory farm, it packs as many beds in as possible and is only about making money. If the Melbourne Clinic is supposed to be a good example of our mental healthcare system in Australia then we should all be extremely afraid.

Do not go. I can't actually fit all of the critical problems The Melbourne Clinic has, it needs far more consumer oversight or better of to be shut down because right now it is retraumatising.

Been using the Melbourne clinic for last year three years have done four ocd inpatient programs and day ocd programs which have helped greatly. Also used the TMS inpatient program for depression and the TMS team have always been polite and friendly and respectful. The nurse's both in general and inpatient programs I've got to know well and while I've had some up and down moments with some are really polite and friendly just also trying to help you with a hospital environment. Where the hospital falls down is the poor maintenance to the older wards while building newer wards. Stayed in unit one and have had many requests to fix toilet blockages over past three years with poor maintenance. Last stay the plumbing gave way resulting in unit 1 flooding unit 5 below.
Overall have good patient programs but could do better to fix maintenance problems.
