The Laurel Hotel

Turned up at opening time to have a drink and then lunch. After they opened 15 minutes late we were made to feel that we shouldn't have been there that early so we went to another hotel nearby and spent our $80 there. Won't go back to the Laurel again.

Came here for lunch on Christmas Day. Only one choice for vegan for entree, mains and none for dessert. When I called and asked about the vegan option for dessert was misinformed that it was the meringue. On the day they served meringue as the vegan option with cream all over it. They then replaced with bowl of fruit. Service was quite slow with our mains coming out almost 2 hours after we initially sat down.

The food was great, but the service was terrible because there were too many guests and not enough personnel attending, one waitress against 80 guests in the restaurant and one security guard against 120 youngsters out in the carpark. Management should be ashamed of themselves not taking care of their employees and not planning properly for the crowds that want to enjoy the new freedom.

Abbey the manager on duty saved us from walking out after 2 staff members told us the bistro was open after the live band told us it would be open.it was closed. We were settled on a table in the bar and Abbey continued to show us front of house hospitality. Meals were generous with taste and freshness 5 stars for Abbey

Great pub in the heart of Ascot vale. Good vibes and decent artisan beers on tap. Had the porterhouse steak, was cooked to perfection with amazingly textured mash potatoes and roast veggies. Would recommend!

Very disappointed in the service we received. I understand everyone is trying to adapt to the "covid safe" work place. But the attitude of the staff members is unacceptable. Started the night to our Christmas celebration on a very sour note. Even coping attitude about asking for a side of gravy. Only reason why I'm giving 2 stars and not 1 star is because one short girl with spacer in her ear was lovely. If she didn't catch us at the very end it would be 1 star

Food was great, delicious good presentation and value for money. However they seemed short staffed and regular customers were given preference. Hint, hint new customers keep coming back with excellent customer service. Overall we had a nice afternoon.

Had a rather good meal despite some technical issues with Uber eats. Ordered the Chili Prawn Spaghetti & Scotch Fillet Steak. Would highly recommend both! Flavour, portions and sides were great. Will definitely dine in once covid restrictions lift. Staff were polite and attentive to my order (in which I had issues for the Uber Eats order - no fault of their own). Keep up the good work!

Family home delivery of chicken parmas from the Laurel really hit the spot tonight in lockdown. Speedy delivery, top quality and delicious! Wish we discovered sooner. Highly recommend!

Great hotel, nice restaurant, I found the bar staff a little rude, what a shame considering their industry.

Nice hotel, hadn't been for quite some time, naturally the layout and decor altered somewhat.
Meal was sumptuous and service friendly.
Unfortunately we were the only couple eating, as the covid 19 was having an impact on the service industry.
It wasn't long after our visit, the hotel closed its doors till this horrid virus clears.

Thank heavens the Laurel has opened for takeaway! We have missed the huge serves of delicious Parma for over a month. Decided to have the creme bulee as well. Has lifted our spirits on a cold winter’s night.we will be back!

A wonderful place for a quiet drink, and a place to have a great celebration with 50 or 60. A great choice of beers and wines are available to go with their Menu, which has something for everyone. In a separate bar are some machines of chance, and Tab facilities.
Ease of access for those who need it, and a bus stop next door

Kids meal no longer includes a drink. So have to add on an extra 4.50. While the meal stays the same price

Always come here for dinner on my way home from airport. Food well presented and plenty of it on plate, fast service. Staff always friendly.

I had the pumpkin house made gnocchi. It was absolutely delicious! A big surprise. Highly recommend that dish in particular. The whole group I was with was happy with their meals.

This has very nice food, good restaurant but the only issues are that the dishes and cutlery aren't washed properly and has food stains on it, also the mirrors in the women's bathroom have horrible stains on it and I have no idea what it is but over I'd like so say I'm just a kid writing this and I hope you can consider these things I said and fix the problems, over all its an ok restaurant and I would come back here

Poor experience in many ways. We had someone order beef cheek it was so tough you could not get the fork out of it.pork was over cooked and finally dessert for one person came 20 minutes after everyone else’s.

Upmarket pub setting. Nice decor and good service. Food is always good and sometimes excellent.
