I got my first ever tattoo with Shane and I really appreciate that we went over our design one last time before getting started so I was 100% confident with my decision! Fantastic conversations while getting tatted and a very very comfortable environment! I'm definitely coming back for another tattoo!

I received my first tattoo from the lovely Trin who captured the exact design I wanted. The staff, too, were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and walked me through the process clearly from beginning to end. I also loved the studio's atmosphere and mood and would definitely recommend The Dark Essence to anyone looking to get their first or next tattoo.

The team at The Dark Essence Tattoo are amazing, from the initial consultation to keeping open ideas for changes and laying down the final stencil I was always in the loop and felt in control of what art was going on me.
I was well looked after by Amy for the booking and had the pleasure of Nick as my artist. He sucks at pool but an amazing artist.
I will definitely be recommending this parlour and coming back

Got my very first tattoo done today with Shane and he is an absolutely lovely, chill guy and could not have asked for more of a reassuring person for my first tattoo. His fine line work is fantastic and my tattoo is stunning! Will definitely be going back to him for my next one!

His professionalism and down to earth personality made me feel so at ease as ist was my first tattoo. And of course finished with an amazing looking tattoo. Highly recommend this studio.

Have been to about 4 or 5 parlours across Melbourne and can say without a doubt Dark Essence, in particular Shane, are the best going around town! Apart from Shane’s fantastic work he’s the most patient and understanding artist I’ve ever worked with.

So glad I’ve found this mob. Won’t be going anywhere else from here onwards!

Can’t recommend Nick Sanna and the Dark Essence team enough! They’re organised, friendly and damn good artists. Nick created my design from scratch and worked with me over 2 months to complete my first tattoo. Very happy with the end product.

Do not get a tattoo from Joe who himself has no tattoos. As we all know that spells disaster. Would not recommend Joe for anything tattoo related.
