The Cove Hotel

First time at this place so well be back soon enough for a second opinion. The food was good but service could have been a little better in my opinion.

Bit of a mixed bag the slow cooked lamb shoulder was absolutely delicious and bursting with flavour and tenderness. The Parma on the other hand was dry as an old boot. Some other things I sampled such as the scollops and the risotto on the Christmas in July special was very bland.

Definitely not like it used to be!
Rang and requested seating out on the deck, they said nothing. When we arrive we are inside and when questioned were told we can't due to COVID we couldn't for the 'early' seating. More patrons arrive and they're seated out on the deck?
Food arrives and entre scallops are cold, chicken parma dry and inedible, barramundi tasteless.

The Cove was recommended to me by my Qld niece… and I decided I would try it out for myself.
I took my father, husband & sister to The Cove one cold, miserable day early July.
The food was delicious & served super quickly. It was fresh & hot.
The staff were very attentive & very knowledgeable.
I was very impressed, so-much-so I’ve booked for Fathers Day!

Food was delicious and well priced. Classic pub food. The table service was a little bit lacking but not a huge issue. Would definitely go back.

Came here with the family well over 10 years ago and it was fantastic.
Brought my mum for her birthday and I was a little disappointed in the menu.
Not too much if a variety.

Amazing place even during Winter! Great service, Really up beat vibe in the Bistro area even during Covid and the menu for 8 of us was Fantastic with no issues at all. All round 4x stars

Food wasn't very good at all cocktails were nice but thats it i got steak $49 worth n it was stone cold my partner got the curry n there was stuff all meat took ages to come out they also said freshly shucked oysters meybe 3 days ago but definitely not the day i was there.

Yes ur offer was a free dessert lol after i had spent $265 i get offered a free dessert

Cold bland steaks not cooked properly, next to no sauce, chips from NQR…

The fish and chips, well hey, only the fish that John West rejects. Better off going to woollies or coles and getting yourself a frozen meal.

At least the lights and heaters are on.

If your cold come in, if you’re hungry, dominos is up the road.

The food is always fresh, splendid and well presented. The outdoor deck offers added beautiful water views.

The Steak wasn't good, got the quality steak on the menu and picked more unchewable fat out of it than what I would get from a Coles version wth!

Food was bland and disappointing. I expect more for the money paid. Don't offer upmarket dishes if you do not know how to prepare them.

The Cove is a very nice place to have lunch. Unfortunately it is a bit over priced. My last visit on lock down eve was a little dissappointing. The food was fine. The service was average. Still worth a try. I will probably go again when Dan let's me out again.

Food came out hot and fresh, and the parma is one of the better ones I've ever had. The calamari was better, and just perfection. Good fresh salad with dressing that wasn't too punchy, and the fries were simply beautiful.

The staff were all friendly and professional and all round delightful. The view is great - the dining area goes around a corner and you get a wonderful serene view over the marina.

Bathrooms were reasonably clean - no issue there.

Would definitely recommend this place!

Bit pricey for pub grub but it's well made and arrives at the table pretty quickly. Very friendly and helpful servers too!

The Cove is a wonderful place with great food, good beer and a view to boot. If you want to be by the water for an afternoon in the sun and have a few drinks, there's nowhere better. The parking is limited at the front and I'm not sure there's another good way to get there. There's a Pokies in the building but once you get past that it's a great experience.

We have dined here several times now & the setting & food quality is first class. Love sitting by the water with great views of the marina.

However.recently for my wife’s 50th Birthday, we brought a cake along to celebrate after our meal. The waitress brought it out at the agreed time, left a knife & the correct number of plates. All good.

Come time to pay the food bill ($267) & there was a $10 cakeage charge. This for bringing out the cake & 8 bowls. Sadly, this left a sour taste in my mouth.

We spent $260 on food & probably $120 on drinks & they still slug us for carrying out a cake & bowls.

Disappointing end to an otherwise lovely outing.

Cove is a very likable place good atmosphere a little overpriced for food for what they have to offer. I like the pokies area the best great friendly people lots of variety in machines staff recognize you by name and m a la you very welcome. Lots of parking space as well.

A pleasant location with a relaxing view, very friendly and prompt service.
The menu selection was extremely limited and poor by most standards
The venue was nearly empty at lunch on Christmas Eve, the lack of selection on the menu would mean most wouldn’t return after the first visit.
