The Cove Hotel reviews
79Great food, cold drinks, good service and nice views. Always a good experience, highly recommend.
It was a hot day and the place was boiling. No cooling running just some fans blowing hot air on us. Food and customer services was fantastic. I cannot fault it.
Had dinner here in the weekend with a group of friends. Service was friendly however meals were a little disappointing. My meal (chicken Parma), which l had really been looking forward to, was quite tasteless and the underside of the Parma was gluggy and not very appetising.
The calamari got good reviews.
Had dinner here last Sunday with the family and some friends the menu looked like it had less options than last time but the food was great and the staff were friendly and gave great service
This used to be our favourite restaurant and it had an amazing gluten free menu. Apparently there was a complete menu change 2 weeks ago. It's very disappointing. A much smaller menu and very limited gluten free options. Quite pricey for a family. It's a shame as we loved this venue so much.
Basically it was ok. The Cove is a pub trying to be a restaurant. The table was sticky even after the waitress cleaned it. The food arrived in a timely manner but the mussels and seafood linguini were bland. They need to reduce the menu options and focus on wholesome pub food. Keep it simple and do it right! The service was friendly.
Booked online through website only to get there and be told it’s closed. No call to advise booking cannot be confirmed. Won’t come back
Always in for a treat here! The man behind the bar and who works in the pokies is so nice! Makes it for a better experience.
Will come again for sure. Food and drinks are a great price. Nice views into the marina.
Inconsistant, the food is never cooked the same each time I go and the service was terrible, I had to ask twice about getting aioli on a not so busy weeknight. Will not be going back again until staff and chefs are consistant and helpful.
Food good, service is a bit slow, cancelled the coffee after 30mins I was not waiting. I think they charge service fee on public for each person. Wow!
I'm not sure what happened here. This used to be 'the' place for good food. It's always been pricey but you used to get the quality. Real creative dishes like: bloody Mary oysters and giant homemade agnolotti. It's just a basic pub menu now.
Its been a while since I was let down to this extent. I would rate it lower but the staff were good. Nothing is worse than asking for med rare steak ($46) and getting it overcooked no pink. Slow cooked lamb ($39) was tough and fatty I doubt the 12 hours. Highlight was mash potatoes that's when you know something's wrong. Had no mussels or dark and stormy (rum and ginger beer) or specials.
It's so sad, such a good rep. I'm hoping it's just a post COVID slump and they can bring the menu back to its former glory. But I guess I'll never know.
Highly recommend this hotel, great food, excellent portion size meals wonderful view of the water and really friendly staff. Prices charged very reasonable.
Seeking to have seafood chowder in a round sour bread. I went with my wife. The place is beautiful, with boats in the piers.active with people coming for lunch.
Given a table overlooking the boats and hotel rooms.environment best for lunch with my wife! My wife order her dish and I.the chowder.with our usual white wine.
Servings came in good time. However, we realized that the table was so sticky.even my long sleeves start to stick to the table. We used the napkin.it got stuck also.
The chowder must have been delayed in the kitchen because when I started to eat, the bread & soup becomes soggy. I further realise the seafood was not fresh.
To cut it short, I has food poisoning for 2 days. What an experience for a first timer?
Such a shame as, we wanted to like this place, but they were under staffed and not well trained at that. Took 40 mins just to get water on our table! They were busy but only 50% tables. Forgot our starter mains came before our drinks or water no condiments no check ins etc. Food was ok half my chips were oil soaked crisp ends and the marinara was underwhelming. Did advise yo staff got oh were just busy excuse. We left hungry.
Been to the cove 3 times and each time came out disappointed over 30 mins for drinks nearly 1hr to order food poor service
First time had gone there would definitely go back and grab something to eat seems a nice and friendly place
Beautiful atmosphere, like being on holidays, fun seeing Santa cruise by on a boat. Food and service was excellent too.
Very nice place to have lunch/dinner.
Competent staff and everything came on time nobody had to wait for their food.
Highly recommended
Nice setting, staff seemed friendly but the food wasn't too crash hot. The chicken curry was very salty and wasn't very nice. Drinks are good
Third strike for The Cove. Every single time we have been left for 45+ minutes and had to chase down someone to order food. Absolutely appalling service, will never be back.
