The Clyde Hotel reviews
75Fantastic pub! We hangout here every now and then. It is enormous inside, probably because it is also a hotel. The rooftop bar and outdoor seatings are spacious, too. The rooftop bar offers an amazing view of the CBD skyscrapers. Super friendly staffs and wide range of food and drinks! It can get really crowded after 5PM.
Normalise pubs/restaurants having half parmas on the menu!
Clyde Hotel is a great spot that’s kinda shaped in a rectangle with dining/sitting spaces all around a centred bar. There is an outdoor area and another space that’s undercover. Plenty of seating to enjoy a drink and their delicious menu. I really appreciated the half parma option as it helps reduce food wastage when you’re not that hungry. Food comes out quick and the jalapeños on the nachos were nice and spicy
Would go back again!
Best pub in the city, wonderful and eclectic décor and great rotation of specials, very high-brow crowd.
Great place I come to on Sundays for a drink and bowl of wedges. The games always on and it's a great place to past some time or have a meal
Really lovely staff! Steak night was ace, beers are really well priced. Definitely heading back:)
Good old school style pub. Nice in cosy with a fireplace cranking. Everything was reasonably priced so would recommend to everyone
Christmas decorations are unparalleled! They accomodate the most obscure university discussion group, even the weird ones - no discrimination! *chefs kiss*
I like the Clyde as an unpretentious good Australian pub. But, please consider not selling food that involves killing babies! Baby anything! Yes even "lamb". Moreover, the more we learn of octopus the more we are impressed by their intelligence and sentience.babies included. A fair go for other species. Thank you!
The Clyde is next to my work and I sometimes have my lunch here. I enjoy the atmosphere and the staff are friendly and helpful, they’re also discreet, they don’t bother you, which I appreciate as I like to read or use my tablet whilst I’m eating. I recommend The Clyde if you’re in Carlton, the food is very good, too.
Big portions, selected menu with your common starters and mains. A little 90s/early 2000s vibes but the waiters and chefs really do a great job here.
This joint is AMAZING! It's a normal awesome pub but it's DECKED out in genuine Netflix memorabilia. Get there!
An old favorite uni hangout thwt hasnt changed much in 20 years. No cider on tap - a hangout for committed beer drinkers.
The clyde used to be my favourite pub and so close to everything with reasonable atmosphere no wonder.however lately there have been staff or management changes that have really made it go downhill. Went there for a regular wednesday night steak and ordered extra sauce which didn’t come with the order. The wait staff were nice about it and brought extra when came with i thought was as a result of the mix up.then a guy comes to the table and charges us for both lots of sauce because “it’s $1.5”. When it is the wait staff’s error usually it’s a good idea to comp the 3 dollars and not charge for stuff they didn’t order and didn’t get on time. The Clyde, i would reconsider your staff and attitude.
Beautiful fresh food great meals! Wonderful atmosphere great old pub that is definitely worthy of being the regular
Beautiful old school pub vibes mixed crowd which was grande to see and $14 dollar fish and chip Friday's that is actually to die for who can complain.
The Clyde is a great local pub. It has something for everyone. From the front bar or dining room to the rooftop or beer garden. Highly recommend checking it out when nearby. The food is always great, especially the parma. The staff are also always super friendly and up for a chat.
We loved every aspect of our lunch at The Clyde on Christmas Eve: a genuine welcome and friendly professional staff; relaxed and comfortable interior and beer garden (where we sat) with joyful decorations; great menu choices, quality ingredients; wonderful flavours and generous servings - I had a medium-rare cooked to perfection sirloin steak while eyeing off my brother's fabulous mixed grill with the best mashed potatoes ever! (And I still can't stop thinking about the flavourful broccolini side-dish!) It felt good being there and in the lovely mix of locals and visitors - couples, families, friends all enjoying an excellent pub lunch on the day before Christmas!
Really nice hotel and pub. There was a super cool orchestra playing this afternoon. Nice performance. Hope they can play everyday. XD
Lovely old pub with multiple bars and a beer garden. Great selection of tap beers, cider and seltzer.
