The Boot Factory reviews
73Pretty average. We ordered three meals, came out over 10 minutes and not together. Expensive too. Coffee came out once meal was finished but it was very good
Delightful Cafe, fun vibe and the most interesting brunch options I've seen in a while. Health lovers will be happy too.
Interesting walks nearby around the old Pentridge prison and shopping centre.
Accessibility good, no steps.
A lovely place for breakfast, one of my favourite in this area. Friendly staff and excellent food.
Great atmosphere, welcoming staff and very good customer service.
A great variety of choices on the menu and beautiful cake slices. Great coffee.
Yeah nah eh! Quality of food today was not the usual high standard. Have had better. We've been coming to Boot Factory since 2015 and the food and coffee has always been excellent but this morning's visit was disappointing.
This place is amazing.
Pancakes are a piece of heaven in The Earth. The flavour and the combination of textures (crunchy apple pieces and soft pancakes) was just perfect
The staff are super friendly. They brought water for our dog without us even asking.
We will definitely come back ️
We went to Boot Factory on a public holiday and were able to get a seat quite easily around 10: 45. It did get busier after 11.
I had the Coconut Pandan Panna Cotta special which was just beautiful. Beautiful balance of creaminess and crunch from the puffed quinoa granola, and tangy fresh fruit. My partner really enjoyed his Pulled pork quesadillas which came with a chunky guac on the side. That and a delicious banana shake filled him up.
The Choc Chilli Chai was also delicious but had more of a kick than expected. Not one to drink quickly.
Great looking menu and we will definitely be back!
They have QR codes at the tables to link you to a menu and ordering system, so service is polite, efficient though quite hands off. They seemed very busy but that's to be expected with current hospitality shortages.
Attended today and was waiting over 15 minutes to be seated meanwhile the lovely barista walked over and advised he would get someone to attend to us shortly. Wow, I wish he had not sent someone over as she was a pit bull of a waitress who’s care factor in customer service is clearly not in her position description. When I advised her that people behind us were seated before us, her response was a long pause followed by “AND? ” She was not apologetic or showed any empathy. Clearly she’s not the owner of the business and gets her wage at the end of the shift. This is disgusting and thankfully we are blessed to have so many other wonderful cafes locally - this was purely only noticed as we were wondering around the Pentridge Village.
The service has always been top notch, but the mocha, made with 70% dark choc from Monsieur Truffle, is a staple that's too difficult to find anywhere else. They have a wonderful dedication to quality ingredients, and the end product is a statement of such.
I'll leave others to judge the food, as I rarely eat there due to being a stop on my way. The few sandwiches I've had have been quality as well so I'm guessing there's a pattern there.
My fave thing about this place is the fit out and how they've transformed what used to be a factory into a warm, homely cafe. I love sitting in the lounge/dining area because it makes me feel like I'm having a coffee in someone's home:)
Spacious, clean and quirky with an eclectic vibe.
This is our “ go to” place when we visit Melbourne. Great service and tasty at a good price. Hubby had Eggs Benny which had a bit of a twist- served on a potato rather than bread base. The music choice is also good! The Boot Factory is situated in the Old jail so also plenty to see after that tasty brunch.
Wow. Beautiful cafe in a pentridge heritage building. Fantastic coffee and cafe menu selection. Attentive and friendly staff.
Finally back for a second visit after 4 years (2017). Situated at the old Pentridge prison. Decor is modern and airy with lots of light. Staff is friendly and service is good. All ordering and payment can done via their online app.
Loved the look of the place, the staff and the range on the menu, but, wasn't impressed with the food. I got the Halloumi burger and it wasn't for me. I enjoyed the sweet potato chips and the iced coffee and fried halloumi though.
Quite a nice little cafe/restaurant. Our food and coffee was good. The staff were friendly. It took a while for my partners cake to come out, in fact I had to ask.
I was watching better call saul (breaking bad spinoff) with my partner at my place and in season 2 episode 2 they say "suspect" and "among us" in the same scene and it drove me crazy and i tried to hold back laughter because i didnt want to seem like an idiot but i laughed anyway. Staff are friendly
Discrimination at its finest! Would not even let us sit outside when every table was empty and not a sole in sight just because we were unvaccinated! We are never ever going back.
Great brunch menu, wonderful coffee, fantastic service. Came in by myself on the first weekend out of lockdown and they were super busy but I didn't wait long for my food at all. I was very impressed. Will definitely be returning with friends!
Such a gorgeous place for a bite to eat. The food was absolutely stellar, one of the best breakfasts I've had in Melbourne. Cooked perfectly with incredible flavour. I will definitely be revisiting The Boot Factory.
Gotta say, this was one of the best tasting vegeburgers I've ever eaten. The halloumi burger. The constellation of ingredients between the buns complemented each other in much the same way members of a well tuned orchestra harmonize to generate a single unified result. Hats off to whom-ever created this. Twenty bucks, but it was bloody good!
