The Boardwalk Bendigo reviews
75Delightful location. Yummy food. Perfect for a warm decking outing or indoor options too. I look forward to revisiting.
Food and service are quite good. Service is friendly and efficient. The lake gives the cafe and beautiful backdrop. Very popular with locals and tourists.
Cold day but warm inside Coffees could have been hotter but were ok Has Bircher museuli and boardwalk breakfast Both excellent sausage bacon and mushroom excellent Will go back but coffee must be hotter
This is a nice place to go for lunch and well patronized. There are tables outside where people can bring their dogs while they dine and look over the lake.
Breakfast was pretty good, service good and had an energetic vibe. The loss of 2 stars was due to being unable to change the meal. All we asked for was the eggs to be cooked fully and they said no changes. So if you are pregnant or sensitive to particular ingredients, review the menu carefully before going.
Lovely location, bit pricy and food isn't awesome. Just standard cafe food.
Reply to your question: I had a sandwhich that had bread that was not very fresh and was incredibly plain (was disappointing given price). Mum got a grain salad which she didn't like the taste of and only ate half and dad got a burger he very much enjoyed.
I also got a juice which seemed to be 80% ice. It was gone in a couple of sips.
But location is great, staff were friendly and I enjoy the fact the dog can come.
I go out for breakfast regularly and I was in AWE of the service that we received from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. We were greeted with smiles when we walked in and the lady whom was looking after our table went above and beyond with her customer service. The coffee and the food was delicious and the waterfront views were amazing. If I was a local to Bendigo I would come here weekly.
Stayed in Bendigo for the weekend with a group of friends so were just walking around looking for somewhere for some breakfast and spotted The Boardwalk on the water
First thing you notice is the beautiful Cino - A chocolate lab that belongs to the owner of the restaurant. That was all we needed to make a decision! Cino is a good boy and loves a pat!
The owner greeted us and he is super friendly and accommodating. I can see why this place is popular.
Coffees came out nice and quickly. Food was well presented and delicious. Cannot speak highly enough of this place. If i am ever in Bendigo again this will be the first stop for brekky!
Thanks to all the staff and of course Cino.you're a good boy.you're a good boy
Stopped when passing through. Stretched our legs on the stroll around the beautiful lake then had great coffee here.
Very well located. The view is amazing. I had the smashed avocado with mushrooms and feta plus a chai latte. It was very nice. I will come back for sure. Service was great and friendly.
My meal was outstanding, except, unusual in nature, to refuse to leave out tomatoes and bun, I was told to remove them myself, weird?
Coffee lover that I am, found the coffee lacking slightly, so I'd say good. Filtered water available but told to serve myself, they gave me a waiters tray to carry 7 glasses of water to our table. Found that a little unusual for the higher cost of $24 breaky. Also the lovely view of the lake and the atmosphere means I'd return.
What a lovely place.
Top notch staff.
I had the “fush & chups”, my wife had the chicken salad called “One night in Bangkok (I think). Both beautiful.
Great setting. Not a bad word to say.
Very popular place and we were there when it was busy. Given that, the service was prompt and the staff pleasant. The atmosphere was relaxed and we could easily hold a conversation. No hot meals were ordered and the only negatives would be that the baked cheesecake came straight from the refrigerated unit so was pretty cold and the coffee was on the cool side too. Oh and up there with the prices so just be aware of that.
Dog friendly, great! But it was only my dog and me when I asked for a table today, wanting to sit down for lunch. They were very busy, Easter Monday. 'Sorry, nothing available, Why don't you go across the road and try the icecream shop. ' The icecream shop? I just told you I was after LUNCH. I would have been happy to take my dog for a walk and come back a bit later. Poor service.
Staff were quite abrupt, borderline rude. Menu arrived, and it looked like a grade 6 kids attempt at creating a menu. Held together with a bulldog clip and folded half a dozen times. The table we were at was being dripped on by the umbrella. Was going to cost in excess of $20 just for bacon and eggs with some beans. The majority of the menu was unappealing. Then we witnessed a staff member speak to some elderly ladies quite rudely, and another staff member speak to some other customers quite rudely. We walked out. We will not support poor customer service.
