The Bear House Restaurant

Very nice atmosphere and lovely service. Food is delicious and good size portions. Price is also reasonable. Clean toilets also in the back.

The "Bear House" so it is named, is not even the Bear House any more!

Childhood memories of coming in here to be greeted by a beautiful giant stuffed bear, now taken away. No sign of it anywhere. Extremely depressing and ruined the childhood nostalgia I had for the place.

How is it the Bear House with no bear?

And the interior has now been replaced with some generic Asian restaurant with below average food and small portions. Overall underwhelming and left me with a sad feeling that something I once loved and was fascinated by has gone and will never come back.

I will remember the Bear House as it was, not what it has unfortunately become.

I went to this restaurant thinking it would be good by judging by the other reviews, honestly think there family and friends left reviews, the food was small portions, wasn't that great and the service was shocking. I waited for 45mins to order dessert before ended up getting up and paying and leaving, I personally won't be coming back

This is the best Chinese! As good as I've ever tasted, highly recommended! Been again recently, still great!

Love the satay chicken skewers!
Came with 3 skewers for $12, defiantly worth the money and came with perfect amount of satay sauce

Food was enjoyable, service was poor waitress was pleasant but no training, did not have the champagne we ordered so took a cheaper one, put on the table without opening bottle, we did have an ice bucket, ordered coffees to be told the milk was out of date, then was informed that we had to be put by 2-30.
Does have the potential to be a good Chinese Restuarant as food was very tasty, but needs a lot of work on their service pleasant girl with no training.

Bloody awesome food glasses for drinks could a bit bigger other than that it's a bloody good place to go to

Chinese restaurant in a rustic setting which is a bit odd but the food and serving size is great, well priced and fast service. Had the kong po chicken, tom yum soup noodle, chicken dumpling, fried rice and all where great, balanced seasoning and distinct taste. Definitely coming back to try other menu.

Service was good and the food was very good. The venue is rustic and looking a bit tired and uncared for. Good variety on the menu.

Staff were lovely, food delicious and served promptly and the restaurant itself is cosy and welcoming. Will definitely come back, top quality!

Really good range of Asian dishes all of which are excellent, especially the Seafood Laksa.

Best Tom Yum soup I've ever had! Everything we ate was fresh and cooked to perfection. What a meal! We'll be back

Satay chicken skewers are really nice but to over priced for just 2 skewers. Paying 12$ for 2 when I go to other places they don’t charge no more than $6 for 2

Very lovely staff, and extremely fun and enjoyable last day of the year and an excellent place to celebrate my birthday I would want to rate 10/5 if I could definitely recommend for a good night out

Exceptionally outstanding customer service. Everything we ordered was cooked to perfection. Beautiful atmosphere, high ceiling and big beautiful chandeliers. I am glad we found a place to come enjoy delicious asian food wish i found you earlier! Really nice Chinese food. I do agree with other comments about the fried rice, Both times I've had the fried rice and its had a bad smell and off taste but over all the other meals are the best I have had. The service is always great here. I would definitely recommend dining in at the bear house. My 5 stars is based on service with a smile, and the yummy dishes we had.

Don’t believe what people write in the comments. The last lady left a very bad review. I was there the same day she was. She was having a baby shower. She was very rude to the staff. She couldn’t control her kid whilst the waitresses were bringing out food and serving customers. I think her comment was based on the waitress asking if she could kindly stop the child from running around.

We had quite a few dishes, vegetarian dish, it full of mushrooms and was to die for. Also Sweet sour pork and fried rice. Could not fault the service nor the food. The two ladies who waited on us were very friendly. Would highly recommend this place as the best Chinese around.

I could not say a bad word about the bear house. The food is absolutley amazing espcially the san choy bao. The staff are quick, caring and more than happy to help in any way. We drive an hour for chinese because no place compares and Chin that runs is is the most amazing host that spends so much time with you and makes you feels so welcome. We absolutely love it here ️️️
