Temperance Hotel reviews
74Nice chicken parmesan with wine and great garlic bread. Bread would have been nicer before the meal.
One of the the worst dining experiences I have had in Melbourne. Picked 2 items both unavailable and ended up with a salad. Extremely slow service and food was seriously average.
Despite been a really nice place to have fun, the food we got was nothing more than ok. Could be way better if wasn't cold, the tables outside were all wet from previous night rain, but could be wiped out early in the morning to be more inviting for customers that want to seat outside. 3 stars this time because of the cold food we got.
Security was so rude Fri night. It was only my friend and I in the line and he was asking us really inappropriate questions and making "jokes" which were not funny. He took forever to check our IDs and let us in. The other bouncer just stood there smiling awkwardly as I'm sure he could tell it wasn't necessary. He made us feel uncomfortable and angry walking inside. We only stayed for a few minutes. I wouldn't recommend you have staff at the door putting people in a horrible mood before walking inside your venue.
A surprisingly good find. Can't comment on the food as I went fairly late on a Saturday night just for drinks, but there was plenty of different areas inside and outside, not too crowded at the bar, decent crowd (not all young as other reviews suggest), some drunk people but surely not unexpected. Overall it was quite a cool place
I was at the pub there eating a steak: tasty steak well cooked + chips + rocket and cherry tomatoes, plus a glass of wine. Everything good, and I spent 18 aud (in promotion). Very good choice, I suggest it!
Great "pub"/ restaurant. Weekly specials and happy friday from 4 pm with $4 pints at 4pm, $5 at 5 ect. Happy hour is from 4pm till 8pm.
After dinner service Friday and Saturday they got DJ's and a dance floor will appear. Great place for a boogie. I have spent a fair bit of time in this bar and I havn't been disappointed at any time. I can highly recommend this place, plus they don't have cover charge like most places on chapel:) Good food, good boogie and damn good happy hour on Fridays.
Great espresso martinis. There is a $10 special on a Saturday night which makes this a great place to kick off your chapel bar crawl.
Reasonably priced drinks and very good menu. A visit to the Temperance Hotel for their Sunday Session (on Sunday obviously!) is highly recommended: great live music, coupled with food and drink specials - my fav of which is the $10 Bloody Mary and $12 pizza.they both taste great! Efficient and friendly service.
Okay place to hangout with small group as the place was a bit small. However music was really loud so you had to actually scream when you speak.
Found this pub after wife dragged me around Chapel St for 3 hours. Not much to look at from outside but once entering found it to be quite enjoyable. Friendly staff and had a great lunch. Plenty of beers on tap and prices were fair. I think the kitchen was open all afternoon. Next time on Chapel st will head here n wife can pick me up after shopping.
Not very impressed, would have expected to be warned before I was charged for a change on my meal. Plus was given pepper sauce not mushroom which pretty much wrecked the entire meal.
Mediocre in every respect. Very young crowd. The dance floor wraps around the DJ booth giving it the effect dancing in a long awkward hallway. The music wasn't great and no one who wasn't incredibly drunk seemed to be having a very good time. I was also mischarged for my drinks. Just a very blah experience overall.
Really good music and venue for a boogie. Went here on Sunday before queens birthday and the place was jamming’ best of all no entry fee he he
