Wow what can I say.

Pub food at it's best

Beef pie with mash n peas. That beef was succulent, spectacular and great. Totally made my Sunday arvo. Wow

Chicken burger was great.

Ambience. Very laid back, kinda warm and eclectic.

Staff. Friendly, great communicators and really fab ambassadors

Price. Very fair.

Loos. Not bad at all

So. I have reviewed a lot. That's the best Pie I have had in years

Great work temperance hotel. I wasn't pleasantly surprised, or surprised in any way - actually I didn't think much at all what the temperance hotel should be, as I had never been, or at least cant remember having gone, unless I had been before the renovations which I'm guessing were a few years ago, but which, to their credit, dont seem distant even if they were a few years old, owing I guess to the odd treatment of the walls in the male toilet which I reckon is pretty timeless. Anyway I had a good time cheers

We sat in the outdoor area at the back of the bar, which was really lovely and quiet. The service was friendly and the drinks were nice:)

Yeah nice layout good friendly service, but a bit expensive, house Shiraz $14 a glass too much for me but in this area that's the norm

Never been disappointed with any food or drink from the Temperance. The staff are cracking and the prices are very very good. Seating outside on the street is good and the beer garden is also worth your time.

Average food, super impersonal, didnt felt welcome in the place with the QR menu, as theres not waiter but only runners.

Did the bottomless Mexican the other week with some of my friends for my 21st birthday. The food was really good. However, the male manager was extremely condescending towards us. Firstly he came up to us and tried to explain about RSA’s which ironically is something me and all my friends have. He then said he didn’t wanna have to carry any of us out of there which was extremely uncalled for as we had been for like 10 mins at that point and only on our first round of drinks. He then proceeded to accuse one of my friends of sculling her drink. I completely understand that he was trying to do his job however the manner he conducted it was overwhelming unnecessary and patronising thus causing all my friends to feel uneasy.

They then told us off for not taking our own glasses back to the bar which a) is strange as I’ve never done that at any place I’ve worked and b) doesn’t seem hygienic to be refilling glasses during COVID 19.

Overall food was good however I don’t recommend if your a young group of girls as the feeling of being mansplained everything wasn’t enjoyable

Great atmosphere and crowd. One of Chapel Street's longest standing institution bars. Excellent vibe and quality barmen. A very very cool place.

When you pre book a Mexican meal and pay in advance, you’re acting in faith that the food will be semi descent when paying $130 for 2.

After being sat down on an uneven table with uneven chairs, we were presented with the condiments. Each one of them was poured carefully out of a bottle or a tin. Not one of the products was fresh and ALL were of the lowest quality, most notably the cheap packet cheese.

The tortillas arrived, straight from the fridge, from their packet, some still stuck together and stone cold.

The choice of the mains of meat resulted in only two appearing. Both of them looked more like cat food rather than shredded beef and chicken.

The chicken was all the cheapest cuts of chicken u could gather and both mixed in with a packet powder and only Luke warm.

If I had not pre paid I would have ONLY paid for the drinks and refused to pay for the food.

It’s just hugely embarrassing and disgusting that in such extremely difficult times this slop is served up as food.

Absolutely appalling and I won’t be returning

Not enough dancing space meant people struggled to get to the bar, could use funkier lighting to make the party really pop. Aside from that, service was good and the place was clean

Just popped in here for a quick drink whilst out wandering Chapel St, outdoor seating is great and the high tables near the front are pretty much outside as well due to floor to ceiling windows. Just had a quick drink and didn’t look at the menu so no idea about food, although others seemed to be happy with what seemed to be pretty standard pub fare. Only issue would be the level of sound being pumped out at 4pm, definitely puts a damper on the ambience.

Meals were good in the booth area but music pumping out of speakers immediately above our table made conversation difficult. Drink prices (wine) seemed exorbitant for a hotel.

This place is really cool with private booths for meals for a more intimate dining experience. The main bar area is well decorated with plenty of choice seating-wise. Staff are knowledgeable and brimming with charisma. Great lunch deals and and happy hour offers throughout the week.

Low key drinking hole in the bustling chapel street. Large meals, average pricing around $25 a meal. Spirits cocktails and cold beers on tap available
