TarraWarra Estate reviews
74Beautiful wine, lovely staff, delicious food, and a gorgeous view! What's not to love? If you have time I also recommend going to the gallery and having a wine tasting. Wonderful day out!
My wife's favourite restaurant in the Yarra Valley. The vegan set menu is just beautiful! Everything they do is amazing!
I naïvely stumbled into the restaurant without a booking - the staff were kind enough to accomodate me (unaware of the decadence of the venue, underdressed).
The food was incredible - particularly the duck.
The staff were warm and attentive. A special, divinely scenic dining experience - the solitude I needed
Amazing venue, breathtaking views, incredible food and the most attentive friendly staff. Would return without hesitation. Thanks especially to Olivia and Grace
We had an absolutely delightful afternoon at Tarrawarra. The food was exquisite and the set menu a delightful mix of complementary dishes, beautifully presented. The staff were all really friendly, attentive and clearly love looking after people. We had a bottle of the Rousanne, Marsanne that perfectly complemented the food. Highly recommended. And thanks to all at Tarrawarra.
Visited TarraWarrra with my partner for our anniversary. The waiter's at the resturant were incredibly friendly, service was impeccable and the food was phenomenal. Didn't like how many tourists were there though they ruined the scenery a bit.
What an absolutely breathtaking experience.
I booked the 4 course dinner at Tarrawarra Estate as a surprise for my boyfriend’s birthday, and it couldn’t have been more perfect.
From start to finish, we were both just blown away by the service, the atmosphere, the building, the interiors and, of course, the food and wine!
The appetisers upon arrival, along with the focaccia, were both just divine. The trout consommé was so beautifully fresh and the perfect way to begin the amazing food journey that was to follow. We were both so amazed the richness and complexity of flavours in the mushroom cavatelli, but the highlight for us was the duck. You know a dish is perfect when you both sit in silence just enjoying it without needing any words.
I absolutely loved the macadamia tart and my partner had the selection of cheeses which he thoroughly enjoyed.
A beautiful touch was the gorgeous little birthday cake that was bought over at the end, which was such a lovely way to end an already superb evening.
We were also lucky enough to have the head chef, Joel, come over to our table and speak with us which gave us the opportunity to thank him for creating such amazing food.
To make it even more special, we were told that this was the first dinner they were hosting as the 4 courses, and we were one of the first to book.
Thank you for such a magical evening and we hope you continue the 4 course dinners so that others can experience the joy we did.
A fabulous dinner at the beautiful Tarrawarra Estate restaurant. 4 course set menu was perfect with great service and wines.
First Saturday night of the month.
Beautiful views and good service — food was underwhelming for the price. My favourite part was the vermouth made from the wine tainted during bushfires. Super tasty.
Lunch at Tarrawarra Estate was just divine. We had the four-course lunch with paired wines and every course was beautiful and delicious. The presentation was perfect, the service was great. I can’t recommend more for a long lunch with a loved one.
We had a group of staff attend the cellar door for wine tasting followed by lunch in the restaurant. They all came back raving about how fantastic the food, wine and service was; not to mention the incredible venue. Many said that one of the desserts was the best dish they'd ever tasted!
When organising this event, the TarraWarra staff (especially Darren) were super helpful, efficient and went above and beyond to help us book. Even after the event, their service was next level, providing any extra cost breakdowns and info we requested in a very timely manner.
Thank you to the team at TarraWarra - your venue, food, wine and service is exceptional.
Good Chardonnay varieties and vintages, However, I wish tasting is redeemable even after a purchase.
We had a wonderful experience at Tarrawarra Estate. The food was delicious, the wine and bubbles complimented the meals and the macadamia tart was out of this world!
Was a great experience and the staff were terrific, with the set menu, was beautifully presented and enough time between courses to savor the meal along with a great bottle of wine
Great views from the cellar door and excellent wines. Didn’t do the full tasting there but the wine flight option was ideal.
The entrees were delicious as was the main but I wasn’t that keen on the cabbage side dish. Would have preferred something green. Dessert was superb, but I would have been happy if it was not quite as much. Service was exceptional!
Have been meaning to praise the chef for going above and beyond in accommodating our intricate special dietary requests for one of our guests. We'd sent an email with the details of the dietary request as we took our guests to TerraWarra as a surprise to thank our guests for everything they had done for us. The chef responded, and it was very obvious he'd considered all aspects of the meals as he'd asked really good questions. Showing attention to detail, and that this restaurant actually cares about their guests. It was very touching. Had an absolutely lovely time, food was great, service excellent. Have been there over 4 times so far, and would go again!
Great customer service! A bit of a letdown as they advertise the risotto for the plant based & meat 4 course to be different, they are the exact same (or at least ours were as there was no difference in texture, smell or taste). A dreadful walk from the lower car park to the restaurant with the upper car park being shut, this was a struggle for my elderly mother - I wish there was a warning for this upon booking. I’d come back for the excellent service but not much else. Not worth the 120pp. Greater spots in the area
We treated ourselves last Sunday to a special lunch at TarraWarra's restaurant. The service was excellent with the young staff being very helpful, knowledgeable and extremely attentive. We were even asked if we were celebrating anything special and when we said that it was our 1st Wedding Anniversary we received a lovely complementary plate of petit fours to have with our coffee.
The food, whilst excellent was served in very small portions (which we didn't mind as we are not huge eaters) and it enabled us to still feel comfortable after 4 courses. Unfortunately, our lamb backstrap and accompaniments were a little cold and the tiny piece of roast potato was not crispy due to having sat on a shelf waiting for service. We also felt that the flavour combination of that course didn't gel with our taste buds. Too sour and tart for our liking. The wine prices, given that it was a winery specialising in its own produce, were very much on the high side.
Overall, for a restaurant that is competing at the higher end of the market, we felt that it fell a little short, foodwise, however the service was superb.
What a wonderful place for a meal. We had the most delicious lunch there on Sunday, and excellent service (thanks Grace). The food was a culinary delight (thanks Jess and Joel). I would highly recommend TarraWarra Estate.
