Excellent services and great food. But it is Expensive and they served low value food item with high price. Not able to justify my return.

Definitely fusion, definitely fine dining. Everything was excellent, but especially the lamb. Best for a fun night out with good friends

I came here with my partner and another couple after months of hearing how this is a place to go for Asian fusion. Unfortunately, despite the nice vibe, I won't recommend it to anyone nor ever come back.
When we initially ordered the food (me an my partner wanted banquet No. 2, and the other couple banquet No. 1), we were told by the waiter that this cannot be done since it will "confuse the kitchen". We were told we MUST pick one banquet for all 4 people, despite this not being written anywhere in the menu. At that point I was a bit confused and disappointed but thought that this is a rule we need to follow.
This was definitely a surprise, never in my life have I heard that different orders can confuse the kitchen, but the other couple hesitantly decided to go with the banquet No. 2 ($110 pp).
The food was OK, but far from super and way overpriced. Tuna and kingfish + lobster rolls were fantastic, but the rest was just good. I was especially underwhelmed with the dessert that literally felt like eating snickers which I thought was a bit weird for a menu I'm paying $110.
The ambience is fantastic, I loved it and the service was fast, but unfortunately, we did feel like this was a cash grab and the fact that we had to order something not everyone wanted at the table, affected the experience.

As the time passes, some are forgotten, some stay with us - vivid in our memories. From those who stay, some stay with good taste, some with bad…) Supernormal was the best food in Melbourne for us, we already knew it then and kept on visiting during our stay, but after some time, it gets clearer in our mind, yes, the fish, steak, dumplings, kimchi, the atmosphere and the amazing staff… we didn’t forget, you belong to our best memories, thank you very much!

I was served by Stephen on Tuesday night, and he was absolutely amazing! He catered to our every need, and gave excellent recommendations. I can’t recommend this place more, can’t wait to return!

Our first date night out of lock down should have been great. On our arrival the Host did not even look at our Covid vaccination certificates when we arrived for our booking. We ordered the set menu (2), it did not take long for the first meal to come to the table but then then the second course and third course was brought to the table. We thought wow the food is really coming fast do they want us to leave? We did not have time to finish each meal before the next course was brought to the table. By the time I got to eat the pork dumplings which had been sitting on the table for some time they were cold but then I noticed that they were also raw. It was difficult to get the attention of the Host or any floor staff to let them know. Eventually were spoke to a waiter who sorted the issue out. The Host did not come check on our table or apologise for the raw pork. Once the the raw pork dumping was taken back to the kitchen, the speed of the food to come to the table became extremely slow. While we were waiting for the food to arrive a couple was seated in the table next to us, the distance between the two tables was very narrow, that when the waitress stood between the two table there was no space between us. Supernormal is not following the 1.5m distance rule which is very disappointing, customers are relying on restaurants to follow the rules. There were other vacate table in the restaurant all around us so I am not sure why they sat this couple next us which was alarming as the young lady was pregnant. Keeping the customers safe while we trade with Covid appears to be un-important at Supernormal. We never saw our waitress again, I think there must have had a shift change.
My husbands company was amazing it was a shame Supernormal was unable to deliver a great and safe dining out experience.

Hands down the best restaurant in Melbourne! The food is absolutely incredible, especially the lobster roll I'd also recommend the nori cracker, kingfish and lamb shoulder.

Absolutely superb food! It is always a wonderful experience dining with Supanormal, both in house and with takeaway. The dumplings, the nori rolls and the lamb shoulder - all just great! Will probably be back again for more next week. Thank you!

Food was amazing, possible the best seafood in Melbourne, the service was incredible as well; but for the love of god, DO NOT SIT AT THE BAR! The seats don’t move and are the most uncomfortable I have ever experienced! Avoid the bad stools!

Quite a busy place for Monday night, didn't go for tasting menu, opt for a la carte instead. The lamb shoulder was massive, had to take some home as we couldn't finish it between the two. The duck bun was great, the skin was so crispy! The udon noodle salad was average & the sesame bread was too oily for my liking, though the smoked egg plant dip that came with it was good. Didnt think the lobster roll was worth $18 though. Prawn & chicken dumplings were good but not overly amazing.

Far too expensive for what you get, food is ok, portions size is poor and drinks are some of the most expensive around. The best thing surprisingly is the non alcoholic cocktails which a pregnant friend raves about. Would not go back. Large parties are served share plates which ruin the top class reputation this place has quite surprisingly achieved.

I'm really torn with this place bc i really wanted to love it. The service was absolutely amazing. The wine selection amazing, But the food.its not terrible its nice. But for the prices youd expect a bit more wow, and it just wasnt there. Nothing was terrible (except the oysters) but nothing was outstanding either.

Yum. Yum. Yum. LOVE the twice cooked duck bao, along with many other delicious delights. Always busy so be sure to book. Great food, friendly service, efficient staff. Our Flinders lane go-to.

I always enjoy coming to Supernormal, with a highly professional and really friendly team, always excellent ramen, dumplings and lobster rolls, what's not to like.

I had a large group come to celebrate my 25th Birthday and the service and food was impeccable! We opted for the $95 banquet which was so worth it for the lobster roll and wagyu that I didn’t get the chance to try last time I had dinner here. I had a few guests with
dietary requirements which was no issue, staff have great wine recommendations and overall made us feel so welcomed! If you’re in Melbourne this place is a must visit!

Contemporary Asian food, riddled with Western cooking techniques. Flavor-packed, no-fuss fare, to be enjoyed with an Asian beer or plum wine. Supernormal indeed!

Always a delicious meal, good atmosphere and a great drinks menu, whether it's tea, cocktails or wine!
