Sugar Buns Bakery Cafe

Normally the food and drinks are great ordered through Uber which has happened before mills never arrived food was smashed eggs were spilt over food everything was cold and I paid 70 for two meals. Tried calling they don’t pick up the phone. Big rip

We went on last Sunday evening and very disappointed with the staff who served us. The shop was supposed to close at 5 and we went at around 3.30, first she ignored us and mentioned that the kitchen is closed and only shakes are available very rudely. Our order was taken later by another lady and one of us didn’t even get the shake till we asked. Was hoping for a good time but very disappointed due to the rude staff. We’ll never visit again or not recommended to anyone.

Incredibly rude blonde women wearing glasses who served me at the counter. Upon enquiring who the manager was to give feedback about my experience I was told she is the manager, oh wow. If I owned this place I wouldn't let someone represent my business this way. Coffee came out cold and more rudeness ensued when I asked it to be rectified.

I ordered here once and this young boy took my order. He was very nice and had good manners. This is how customer service should be like.

Had mother's day breakfast with the family. Was fairly busy, could not book a table as it was fully booked, two weeks before mother's day. However, we were still able to find a table in 10 minutes after arriving. Good food, friendly staff. Would visit again.

Food may be great (bit of a reach) but the faces that bring you the food aren’t smiling at all. Staff absolutely unhelpful when dealing with food ordering issue. Asked for specific condiment to be removed yet was still was added, ruined the whole food. Wanted as refund as could not wait for food to be remade and was denied a refund when asking the first few times. Next time if you have doubts about a customers special request maybe ask the customer? Rather than take it into your own hands and do what you wish without seeing if the customer is happy with it. You’re serving the food into someone elses mouth. Not your own.

Visited Sugar Buns on the 21st of May, 2022.

Sugar Buns is a popular breakfast / lunch destination in Hampton Park. When we arrived, we were not acknowledged for the first 5 minutes (we were in front of the queue).

Once we finally sat down, we began noticing the unhygienic environment. There were dirty & cracked windows, dirty skirting boards, dirty floor, broken shelves with nails protruding, cobwebs in the lights, food on the ground, the salt and pepper grinders were filthy, etc. Not a great environment to enjoy food in.

We decided to order the hot cakes, loaded fries and calamari. These dishes were overpriced but tasted quite nice. Presentation was great as well.

For drinks, we ordered two iced vanilla chai lattes, which were $10 each. Totally overpriced for what we received. Small cups, little to no ice and tasted like milk. Practically no flavouring what so ever.

Grand total cost of $72.

We will not be visiting again - not sure why this place is so overhyped. Spend your money elsewhere.

Very disappointed with the quality of the food compared to a couple months ago. We live in the local area so we used to come here all the time. I heard the cafe changed owner recently. We have tried this cafe 2 times this year and now, this cafe is on our black list. The toast and bacon was hard as rock, deep fried calamari was soggy, avocado was brownish black, salad was unfresh.just absolutely everything on the plate was not 'editable' to me. It's so sad because it used to be such an amazing cafe. Will not be back.

Order large chai latte they made me medium one. When I told them I order large. She said she is running out of chai latte mix. Should tell this things before order.
Egg and bacon toaste $13. Way to expensive cafe compare to others. Never coming back again.

Very busy on a Sunday afternoon, the cafe was packed and was very noisy - definitely not a great place for a catch up or business meeting where lots of conversations are to take place.

We’ll start off with drinks, ordered 3 large spiced chai (no pictures but the mugs were huge!) which weren’t too bad, and one small cappuccino - wasn’t great, quite weak.

Açai bowl was alright, nothing mind blowing. Do think it could’ve used more fruits though.

Eggs À La Mer was amazing! Everything went very well together, salad was fresh and the eggs well done. Brioche French Toast looked and tasted superb! No complaints there.

Smashed Avo Rosti had way too much salad, it was such an odd salad to carb proportion. As you can see, even though there are 2 pieces of (rather small) rosti served, only one had smashed avocado. Even though egg was omitted, i thought an extra rosti would’ve been added as substitute, clearly thought wrong.there was just so much salad which meant this meal could hardly fill your belly. Had to order a side of fries after this.

Service wasn’t great, there were 5-6 young girls who look like they were left to run the place on their own, you can clearly tell that they have had minimal to no training at all on waiting tables. They were running around with our plate of food, confused by the table number. No water was served to our table while most others did, cutlery was put out wrong (one of us got 2 forks, another just a knife), another table had to get their own from the counter because the wait staff were simply not paying attention. They didn’t try clear our EMPTY and stacked plates after bringing out additional food and drinks to us until they were told to. One of the girls ate WHILE they served and also in between serving tables - I think that is absolutely unacceptable and very unsanitary, especially in times of COVID. With that said, i really do hope that management trains these girls because they need to learn at least the basics.

Highly recommend Sugar Buns! Every meal I've had has been impecable. The bruschetta is my personal favourite - the best bruschetta I've had anywhere. Never seen food presented so nicely. Staff are lovely too!

Food was fabulous and we both loved it. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful keep up the good customer service guys. I ordered a Grilled Morocco’s Chicken from the special menu it was mouth watering and the potion was huge I loved it.

Beautifully presented foods. Lily and I looked on in awe at the absolutely amazing milk shake creations that passed our way. Promised each other we'd bring the whole family for a milkshake day next time.
I had the Chicken Schnitzel burger and Lily had the Pancakes -this was the serving from the breaky section not the children's. We really should have gone the kids serving for Lily, this was a very generous serving.

Our 2 meals, plus juice and cola cost just under $50.
Waitresses were courteous & sweet. Noticing them give high 5s to little ones around the cafe.

Food came out only a tad longer than expected, but for the presentation and taste it was worth it.

This place is a hidden gem! The food is amazing the only problems I have is firstly what do I pick to eat and secondly how do I finish it all especially without the food coma!

First time at Sugar Buns and just came for the shakes but couldn’t help but get food too! Great food and even better service!

I use to love coming here but our experience today wasn’t good, Food was kinda flavourless and bland and out coffees took 30 minutes to get to us (two coffees) super disappointed, for what we paid wasn’t worth it

The second we walked in greeted by a lovely staff member, happily seated and order taken. Wasn't long before our meals arrived and OMG! Love at first sight.they say you eat with your eyes and my God it was delicious to look at and once eaten yummy! Definitely coming back! Well done to everyone who works here! 100/100

Food amazing! Coffee amazing! Atmosphere amazing! The only tiny issue i had, the chairs.with great food, great service, great company you lose track of time easily, but your sore bottom from the chair, will remind you that it probably is time to move along.

Your staff were really nice and the guy that served us for lunch was amazing, friendly, helpful, chatty and made us laugh.
We really enjoyed our time here and didn’t need to eat dinner that night! Delicious
