Stumpy Gully Vineyard and Restaurant reviews
71We popped in here for a last minute lunch with the kids and this place is spectacular! They were so accommodating, the menu is amazing, delicious pizza, a wonderful salmon entree and coffee and ice creams to finish. We sat outside under the gum tree with the big umbrella and the kids could run around the garden with the ducks as they pleased. Highly recommended for families. We spotted the cute little barrel room in the back, a perfect place for a private family event! We will be back.
Thanks to Kristine and the team for helping me plan and host a wonderful Hens Day Lunch. We had 31 of us in the Barrel Room for a 2 course grazing menu of starters, pizza & pasta - exactly what the bride wanted. All dietaries were easily catered for, and everyone commented that the food was delicious and abundant.
We appreciated being able to decorate the space to suit our theme, and Rachael and Michael really looked after us on the day.
Thanks again for a successful day.
Not impressed tipped up expecting chef Burke and got offered pizza. Not what I expected average pizza and Coles standard cheeseboards. I will not be back!
This is not the restaurant I visited with chef Burke. No longer the reviews that are posted. So sad. If you want pizza and pasta don’t even go here
This restaurant is no longer managed by the Burkes and therefore reviews posted prior to July 2023 are no longer relevant…. It is no longer fine dining.
New management has changed the menu to pizza, pasta and sad salads. Very disappointing despite impeccable service.
Very disappointing.
We drove from Melbourne to this winery to have a late lunch and do a wine tasting and buy wines if they suited our palette - as you do.
After we ordered the food we went to do the tasting. I selected 4 wines I wanted to try, including a reserve Shiraz.
The lady said she wouldn’t open the reserves or wines that haven’t already been opened because it was too late in the day (it was 3 pm.they shut at 5 pm). Her reason was “I don’t want to open them for no reason” …err the reason would be we may buy it? She still said no…So we cancelled our food and left. Do not recommend.
Stumpy Gully Dining has now closed and the new management no longer serve Modern Australian Cuisine based on local produce. The good reviews earned by Chef Shane Burke's menu no longer apply and should be taken down.
Visited for a wine tasting. Fantastic service at the cellar door - the man was very informative, was very personable and had great energy! I wanted to love the wines but unfortunately they were a bit unbalanced for my taste across the spectrum and not for me. On the plus side, they seem to be very accessibly priced for this region. Beautiful dining area so I'd love to come back to eat in the future.
Friendly staff, good service, yummy food, very pleasant dinning experience everytime. However, sad to see Head Chef Shane Burke and team depart soon
Had a fantastic celebratory lunch. So sorry to hear that the lease on the restaurant is not being renewed.
Such a wonderful experience for our family. We really enjoyed the atmosphere, but the food was exceptional, very thought out and delicious! It is such a shame that stumpy gully dining will be closing soon as we really enjoyed ourselves and would have been back again.
Great atmosphere, great wine, great food, excellent service. What more do you need! If you haven't been, you're missing out.
Not just dinner out but a truly fabulous dining experience.
We were looked after by two lovely and knowledgeable waitresses who made us feel very welcome.
The very talented chefs were guided by when we wanted our courses to be served which gave us time to enjoy a glass of wine, or two, between courses and leave our table to sit outside and take in the stunning views of the vineyard.
Great wines, delicious food and impeccable service, what more could one want?
Thank you Stumpy Gully for providing such a memorable evening.
We had an anniversary lunch at Stumpy Gully Restaurant and the food, the service and the setting were all excellent.
We will return!
Our party of 6 had a memorable dining experience at Stumpy Gully on Saturday evening. The food was interesting, beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. We topped it off with some great wines and the service was friendly and efficient.
We all said we would return.
As usual this beautiful winery never offers anything but 5* service, food and atmosphere. The smiling staff who greet you at the door, seat you quickly and without fuss. The chefs who create a new and exciting menu each season and offer it in new and creative ways. The winemakers who create top class wines. This winery is one to keep at the top of your list!
What a fabulous place for a glass to wine with a view! We loved the Sauvignon Blanc and just made it for a tasting before their cellar door closed. We hope to be back for dinner next time we visit.
Enjoyed the most sensational lunch on Friday for our Mum's birthday. The team at Stumpy Gully are attentive, smiley and professional. Our lunch was simply stunning. Will definitely return!
The food was super tasty, the view was amazing, the wine was great too.
Only thing that was bit disappointing was that it was our anniversary and it wasn’t acknowledged or celebrated in any tiny even way.
