Stagger Lee's Cafe reviews
76Delicious food, coffee and friendly service. Cool art. It is loud so if you're looking for a quiet meal, its not the place for you. We will definitely be back.
It seems hipsters don’t care much for cleaning. Table tops so sticky needed newspaper as a cover sheet.
Just waited 40 minutes on food.staff were completely oblivious to how long we had been waiting. When we finally got someone’s attention, she forgot to put in our order, followed with the worst attempt at an apology and a “you don’t need to pay for your coffee’s”. We had no intention! Won’t be back.
Omg! The coffee blew my mind and then I ate the food! My mind is blown Soo yum omg! The smoked salmon dish! I want this to be the last meal I eat before I die! Seriously wow
Great space, lots of vegan options, and really good food. The of the standard breakfast, which was hummus toast with cherry tomatoes and other ingredients was truly exceptional, and the composition of the dish was very good. The dish had a proper amount of acid and crunch. The cherry tomatoes were also very fresh. One of the best breakfasts I have had in Australia. Would strongly reccomend.
I am at two minds about Stagger Lee's. I have been in the past and it's been just fine, however only that. Fine. Today however I went with my girlfriend who is visiting from another country. We opted to sit outside and were shown to the table by a staff member, given menus and told that water would be out shortly. We then sat for about 15 minutes and watched other tables who had arrived after us being given water and having their orders taken. No staff spoke to us. At all. We eventually just gave up and left once a table who had arrived after us, recieved their coffee and had their meal order taken while we sat with only two menus and a sugar bowl. We weren't the only table that gave up and left. I put it down to it being a relatively buzzing saturday morning and poor communication between staff. Pretty disappointing from a place that is meant to be one of Brunswick Street's Stalwarts. Damn.
Awkward staff who barely smiled, okay coffee and tough pastries. It wasn't a very good experience today.
Must go here! Almost walked past, so glad I didn’t. Food, coffee, atmosphere and service. All 5 starts!
Had to wait long time to get our coffee, however they recognised their mistake and didn't make us pay. Lamb was awesome
Best cafe on Brunswick St. The toasties & baguettes are jammin & one of the few places that makes a nice chai latte. Great staff, good atmosphere & consistent quality of food/service.
Pretty inoffensive on a Saturday morning. Decent price for simple breakfast. Staff good. Other patrons chilled and good atmosphere for the morning. Only improvement would be if Alice Cooper were also eating there.
The staff are really friendly, greeted by smiles and Sal was awesome! Delicious food two days in a row
Food was okay but not brilliant. Asked for the egg to be well one and it came runny, sent it back and it came back runny again. Got overcharged. Service was friendly but not fast. The decor was a bit try hard, or half done. Plenty of room for the prams though.
Nice coffee and a few different things on the menu. I had the crumpets with mascarpone, beautifully presented. The kids were happy too with ham and cheese toasted croissants and strawberry milkshakes.
This is one of those places where you find a favourite on the menu them struggle to deviate because it never lets you down. I've tasted other dishes when friends had them and they were great, but I still can't go past the mushrooms on toast. I'm not vegetarian but I love a well cooked medley of mushrooms. The service is great, always friendly, the coffee and tea are excellent. Tried a cupcake from the cabinet one and wouldn't go back for it, but everything else is top notch.
