Spotlight South Melbourne reviews
74Anything & everything is sold here - from curtains to cotton thread, materials to zip fasteners!
The staff were very friendly an helpful, i had trouble finding an item and a staff member went well and truly out of their way to not only find it for me but ensure what i was looking for was right for my project!
I love Spotlight. I've bought a lot from them over the years - lots of fabric and frames and various craft supplies. They've only lost a star coz they never have enough staff on the floor, so finding help is such a pain. This is a management issue, the bosses need to put more people on the floor. All the floor staff are excellent and clearly care about what they do but there just ain't enough of them. Otherwise, love this store and I'll be back a thousand times again.
Purchased good products plus received great service. Amazing range of items in all sorts of colors. Will return again.
I've been to many Spotlight stores but the one in South Melbourne is my favourite. They are so organised! Fabrics are sorted by type and then colour. Items all neatly arranged. It made my shopping experience a breeze. The store assistants were friendly and you could see them constantly rearranging and stocking items neatly on the racks. I definitely recommend coming here.
It has everything you would need with respect to home and kitchen and most of your artistic needs. Big store with lots of options. Friendly staff and good offers.
Such good service and the store looks impeccably decorated and neat. Best spotlight I have been to (and I’ve been to a lot!)
I don't know if I'm just unlucky but every time I have gone into South Melbourne Spotlight I have received poor customer service. I keep returning for the product range but have the same customer service experience every time. Just today the staff refused to acknowledge me as I was waiting at the counter although there were 3 women behind the desk. I've often waited for them to finish their conversations before serving me, but continue to have a personal chat whilst scanning my things.
I've been left and forgotten on hold. Another time no one was able to check stock out the back and they couldn't seem to care less I had travelled out for nothing, even though I had tried to call earlier that day and had been left and forgotten on hold.
Clean store and great products but please start doing some customer service 101 with your team.
Don't bother ordering online, they have no clue at all what they're doing and zero phone support. If you spend an entire day calling and finally get through, they'll lie to get you off the phone, and claim it will take days to check whether the order has even shipped.
Define better to wait until after lockdown.
These people are always too busy to talk with customers on the phone. Too busy to do business? , what a laugh.
I go there every week. And everytime I need help. I end up waiting for nothing to happen.
Last time I went was for my sister's birthday. I wanted to get her nice baloons. I waited 20min. I'm anaemic and was very weak that day. I had trouble with my speech and clearly that annoyed the two girls that finally attended me.
One of them tried to get rid of me so quick that she popped like 5 balloons.
The birthday party was the next day and in the morning. Two of the balloon were already nearly deflated which caused them to be mid way in the air.
Very sad
Pretty good for an inner city spotlight, they still have a pretty decent range of fabrics. Heaps of party stuff too. Customer service is pretty slow but that’s all Spotlights ️
This store cannot seem to answer email or phone enquiries. And getting curtains at a certain drop is not negotiable they have one drop only.too long.
Website says goods in stock in store, goods not in stock in store. How anyone finds anything in this place is beyond me - it's literally packed to the rafters. Staff are a mixed bag, some helpful some not so much.
This store has pretty much everything a classic crafter would need. Fabric, Cricut brand supplies, stationary, paints, furniture, diy tools, sewing supplies and so much more. Reminds me a lot of Joanns in the states. The perfect place to shop if you’re into customizing your gear or DIY projects for all ages.
I love just wandering around this store. I usually find something tempting to buy. This visit it was Easter goodies and some craft supplies. Lovely staff too.
I am a fan of spotlight, They have such a great range of items for the house and to keep kids and adults entertained in any hobby. The south Melbourne store isn't the biggest spotlight that I've been to but it still covers all your house hold needs at great prices with really helpful friendly staff. Awesome
Bad service. Long queue to pay, when I got to the cashier this young girl (teenager) told me the full price of the product that it was actually on sale, she told me I only had the discount if I was a member. I left the shop upset but I really needed the pillow so I decided to go back and get it, when I got to another cashier again, it was a guy and he told the price on sale. Same pillow, same day. Please don't hire teenagers.
Love it! First time going into one since moving here from the US. For anyone from the US it's like a wonderful combination of Michael's and Bed Bath and Beyond.
If you need anything to bring out your creativity. Spotlight got it.
The location is pretty easy. You can come by tram with a little bit of walking. Very close to south Melbourne market
