Horrible experience. We had to cancel our event booked at Speakeasy, was promised a refund of the deposit from Vinnie, no refund, doesn’t answer any calls or texts. 6 weeks on, still nothing!

THIS VENUE HAD CLOSED DOWN!
I booked a table for 18 ladies for a hens night dinner, got a confirmation that day! Arrived at said time, locks on the door & mail under the door! Canceled my booking and took $270 straight from my account for pre authorisation!
Send endless emails no response, disconnected phones, no reply to messages!

Went to Speakeay bar for my partners 30th birthday for their bottomless brunch. Sean was amazing from the time of booking and nothing was a problem. We had a great day and the food was absolutely amazing! Would definitely recommend this place and will definitely be back!

Booked a large table for a birthday and we had the best time here. Food and drinks were awesome and it was such a nice atmosphere sitting outside on the deck. Will come back for sure!

Recently we were looking for a place to have drinks and dinner with 16+ people. Another venue in the area fell through on us and others were inflexible with food and guest numbers.

When I found Speakeasy and gave them a call, the owner Sean went above and beyond to accommodate our large group with less than 2 weeks notice, and rearranged tables just to fit us all in. What a man!

In addition to that the food was lushhhh. They served a mixture of Meat platters, Chicken wings, Mediterranean bread and Dips. All cheap as chips which meant we could grab an extra salted caramel espresso martini or 2. (these do slap).

The Outdoor beer garden area was brilliant, it was a freezing cold day but the roof was shut and heaters cranking. This cozy session was enjoyed within a stones throw from the back bar, which offered a groovy cocktail list and a boujee aesthetic.

This was all accompanied by a DJ spinning groovy tracks warming us for the next destination.

Lastly, the owner Sean happens to be Irish so naturally he's the friendliest bloke on earth. He took the time to ask about our night and what's on next, as well as assuring our meals and drink were bang on like always.

I never really bother writing reviews but this one deserved a line or two. Thanks again Sean for a great experience, we'll see you again very soon. Sláinte.

Absolutely fantastic restaurant. The food is always excellent. The staff are very friendly and the service, top notch. They also have great shows.
We recommend Speakeasy to anyone who enjoys great food, great service and a great atmosphere.

Great venue but had some delays in food for an event. Busy Saturday night. Food was very good. Boss offered some free champagne for the delay, appreciated.

I recently combined my 30th with my father's 60th Birthday Party celebration in the court yard at Speakeasy. It was a seamless and positive experience from beginning to end. Tracey was warm and professional and showed us the venue and organised the food package for us. Sean made sure the night flowed effortlessly and many of our guests commented on how friendly he was. Vinny provided us with an abundance of delicious food.
The staff treated us like family and made sure that it was a night to remember. The spacious, covered, outdoor courtyard with its ambient lighting and well equipped bar provided an edgy and cosy back drop. It felt spacious and intimate at the same time.
Would highly recommend. The positive feedback was coming in for days after the event. Thank you to all the staff for making it a memory we'll treasure.

Brilliant! I hosted an event in their private room Saturday night. The next day I had text messages and calls from family and friends raving about the delicious food and the quantity was generous - thanks Vince! And the exceptional bar service. We had a good time. The platters they do for $35 per person have heeaaaps of food, more than enough. Beers are cold, dj was good. Great for a day session. Cheers.
Also, beer garden with retractable roof and heaters is a great touch

I recently hosted a launch party of my new rebrand at Speak Easy. From the time of the enquiry right through to the conclusion of the event I cannot recommend this venue highly enough. Beginning with planning stages communication was exceptional. The food quality and service was great. Bar tenders were fun and friendly. The only thing that was off the mark was that the bar wasn't as well stocked as I had hoped so I would check that upon arrival and the beer was warm on tap not sure how that happened but the bar tenders were obliging to resolve it.

Magic evening, Sean made a special effort for a bunch of randoms who walked in off the street without a booking. Great vibe, DJ was very accomplished and the food was amazing. Can recommend the "Dark and Stormy" cocktails, because they will make the rum all gone. Thanks team! We'll be back next time we're in town.

Had the most amazing night here. Seàn was extremely accommodating with my gluten free requirements. With the most fantastic staff, highly recommended!

I recently celebrated my 30th birthday at Speakeasy. I cannot put into words how smooth Bruno and his team made the whole process and the night. Vinnie’s food was incredible and completely worth the value. I would recommend celebrating any occasion here to anyone. There is not enough thank you ‘s I can provide and can’t wait to celebrate future occasions here. If you are looking for a perfect space, the function room upstairs is perfect.

I rented the upstairs room for my birthday and it was perfect! Bruno helped organise my event, he was super helpful every step of the way and it resulted in the best night! Him and Vinny helped us organise every detail of the night plus helping us coordinate other vendors to set up our decorations. All the staff were so friendly and attentive which added to us having a fun stress free event! The food and drinks and service was amazing! Can’t wait to go back for one of their nights soon!

I cannot praise speakeasy enough for their wonderful customer service. I started the process planning my son’s birthday and christening with Bruno, his communication and prompt response made my life so much easier! On the day of the even the manager in charge was wonderfully accommodating with our every need. All the floor and bar staff were fantastic, great customer service I cannot thank them enough, we had the best experience with speakeasy. All the guests were very happy with the service and the food had a lot of complements. Thank you, speakeasy! Keep up the good work.

We hosted a long lunch here for a Hen's party and it was great. The upstairs function space is perfect for this and the staff were really helpful. We had a wonderful day!

We held a team drinks and canapes event here recently. The Speakeasy team were very helpful, the food was great and the space was lovely. Thoroughly enjoyed the event, as did our guests.

Probably the best beer garden on chapel st, great team behind the bar and excellent food as always! Can't wait to come back again
