Shoppingtown Hotel reviews
80Food was nice and all, but there was not enough staff behind the bar to serve drinks for a Saturday night. One staff member seemed to be more worried that imaginary hot coffee was going to spill over a 2 year old that was being watched by myself and his uncle while he was running around and we were guiding him away from the coffee counter.
Steak advertised at $20 in bistro for lunch and dinner. We where told only available for dinner. We went for lunch as it was Mum's favourite, we had come from Mum's funeral.
Staff are friendly and the food is about what you would expect, not fine dining, but a decent meal none the less. Plenty of parking and good location
The venue looked like a night club but was fitted out for the event I attended which was a themed luncheon. It was superb and the staff were good
Food is always nice and the service is reasonable, I would normally used a shop a docket $8 meal, the fine print says Purchase any meal & get a second main meal for only $8.00 up to equal or lesser value.but last time i was there they put a limit of 25 dollar for the second main meal, i had to pay the difference.
This should be added to the fine print.
Very basic hotel with serviceable food. Plenty of seating so you'll rarely have to book a table and there's a nice view over towards the city. Aside from that, you'll find better elsewhere but it's fine if you've got nowhere else to go.
Came in for a few drinks with some mates at the bar. Food was great with friendly service. Had a great time
The food was great but service time was really slow - about 40 minutes from placing our order to eating our meal.
Grate venue to see a band. I saw the Screaming Jets here and it was a bloody good gig, however the bottled water was a bit over priced at $4.50 I thought apart from that everything else was good. Heaps of parking, friendly staff great atmosphere and easy to find. 3 out of 5
Extensive menu. Bit on the pricey side for a RSL style bistro/restaurant (drinks at bar, order at counter, no real table service), but the quality of food was good. Good option when looking for a meal at 9pm on a Saturday night.
The queue to order a meal was over 30 mins as only one person was taking orders, instead of two - which would normally be the case in peak periods. It then took a further 35 minutes for the meal to be served. And the food was nice, but nothing special.
Food was delicious and having the kids meals earlier was very handy so they could play in they playground.
Great venue. Lovely staff and management. Sensational Caberet Show Room. Magnificent views of the CBD from an elevated position in the Bistro area. ALH Executive should be proud of the way in which this venue operates!
Good pub tucker prior to a gig upstairs. We did have to stand in the cold for a while before entering the gig, whereupon they took a while to staff the bar. Overall, a good night out.
The rooms were clean but draughty. They are also situated very close to the hotel entrance and adjoin the carpark. I was woken at 2AM by a drunk knocking on the door asking for smokes, also by hoons leaving the carpark at the time the hotel closed. Not a peaceful place by any means but at least it was sanitary.
Really lifted it's game competed to years ago, decent quality food and a nice place to eat and drink, a bit on pricy side but food is decent size and well cooked
Had a family dinner in the restaurant. Meals were expensive but very poor quality. Service average. It used to be great, and the car park full, but the car park was nearly empty this time.
Went to have a drink in the beer garden on a Sunday. But the last 3 times I have been here it has been booked out for a private function. Would be nice if the public beer garden was open to the public.
Horse racing is blaring over the speakers in the bistro.
Enjoy a pull pork hamburger washed down with a pint. Table near the kids room was understandably a bit noisy
