Shizuku Ramen & Craft Beer reviews
75Waited an hour for delivery only to have them cancel the order. They have cancelled orders before as well. They have more than 20 different places listed on uber eats for the same restaurant and falsely advertise different dietary requirements that they don't actually meet. They do not answer the phone.
SCAM - AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
Woeful. Ordered via uber eats. Supposed to be delivered at 725pm, NEVER RECEIVED MY ORDER. They don't answer the phone (only number is a mobile that just rings out) and because they use their own staff as couriers, you have no idea where your order is.
Terrible, just awful. UBER EATS REMOVE THEM FROM YOUR APP
Waited over an hour for the delivery, I wasn't able to call the restaurant to see where my order was, as no one picked up, and then when it finally arrived I had to cook the noodles myself? Terrible.
Amazing delivery experience!
First of all, they have a good selection of food and alcohol drinks. Got a nicely set up website too!
Secondly, laksa ramen! Laksa broth feat. Ramen contents. Say waaaaaat? ! It was brilliant!
Thirdly, the food arrived 18 minutes EARLY!
Finally, and this part annoyed me for about 30 seconds at first, but later proved to be one of the great things of the whole experience! The food came in like a food kit and I had fun assembling it!
There you go, a hard earned 5 star restaurant!
Definitely not worth the money. $12 extra for three piddly slices of pork? ! AND we had to cook our own noodles? The cheesecake is an absolute joke as well. Bite sized pre packaged discs. The best part of this ordeal was the generic brand iced tea, and when the delivery guy said "Have a good day" at 8pm.
Lists on uber eats for areas they wont deliver to and then cancels the order at the last minute with no contact or explanation (literally a couple of minutes before it was listed to be delivered), so they're basically just wasting people's time and we have a very limited amount of lunch break time.
I think this would be a fine dine-in experience, but as for delivery I really wouldn't bother, and we certainly won't again. My gyōza arrived completely cold, and my partners ramen came deconstructed and needing to be partially cooked at home - which was fine for us - but there was no mention of this anywhere, and I really feel for anyone who has ordered this and can't access a stove top/kitchen in order to cook and complete their meal.
Also, there were no UberEats updates and the food arrived without it even saying it'd been picked up. Having read some other reviews it seems this is commonplace.
Horrible. Literally the worst Ramen I've ever had in my life, I ordered the spicy tonkatsu via ubereats and what I recieved was uncooked noodles with cooked toppings and a soup base as well as stale pork crackling snacks & instructions on how to cook the noodles & assemble the meal myself. I followed the recipe according to the restaurants specified method, but even afterwards, I noticed they were just doughy and dry. The soup base tastes nothing like tonkatsu, It's more like a strange western, chinese and japanese amalgamation gone wrong. I also received two slices of char siu less than one millimetre thick. Even if you've never attempted to make Ramen, you would probably do a better job. For the price of $23, I would not order from this place again.
I used to love Shizuku Ramen and eat there and order takeaway all the time. Lived for their Tonkotsku Ramen and promoted it non stop. Not sure what happened but both the menu and meals have changed and not for the better. Ordered an Uber Eats delivery and the food delivered was quite poor. Noodles were frozen and raw and required them to be cooked separately, not in the broth. The broth had to be heated separately. If I wanted to put my own food together by cooking every ingredient I wouldn't have ordered delivery, I would have bought groceries. In short, food was average at best, poor quality, required tons of additional work to eat and now i have half a kitchen to go clean up. Place has gone downhill, avoid
If you order food do you want it to be uncooked? What if your stove doesn't work and you don't have anything to heat up the water?
I was just on the phone to them after they cancelled my order through Uber Eats. It was cancelled because I specified a shellfish allergy. I was notified that it was cancelled due to the VEGAN Laksa containing FISH! You don't need to have vegan options, but don't lable your food incorrectly, people could get sick or even die due to allergies. Absolutely disgusting and disappointing.
DO NOT ORDER HERE. Wasted over $50 on uncooked ramen.
We ordered their Tonkatsu and Ta Ta Men ramen on Saturday night via Uber Eats. Once it arrived and we assembled the ramen, but then noticed the noodle was still RAW. We called the store and they said that there was a slip of paper in our delivery that said we needed to "cook" the ramen noodles ourselves. We checked the bag and found no "paper" mentioning it. The lady from the store then said if we've put the noodle in the soup already, we can microwave it for a maximum of 1 minute and it should taste normal again. We did that and our ramen then turned to thick stew.please refer to latest photo to see how badly it turned out.
Never thought I would see $50 go down the drain like that.
Food was absolutely amazing. As others have said, ordered through Uber eats and didn’t really have much communication, and you do have to boil the noodles yourself. But it was so worth the wait, the shoyu ramen I had was to die for. Will definitely order again and go dine in when it opens again!
Extremely delicious food and sake and great beer menu. The tan tan men and th tonkatsu shoi were both excellent. Highly recommend
Very popular local ramen joint. I ordered takeaway for two. Food was very quick but the taste was very oily. The noodles were nothing special. They have a wide range of Japanese beer but it is so expensive. $12 for a bottle of Kirin? I'm not sure I'll go back anytime soon. Not bad, not good, just, meh.
Delicious ramen and some tasty vegan treats but fairly expensive considering it's nothing flash and on Victoria street surrounded by great Asian cuisine
Delicious spicy pork mince ramen. Creamy flavour and just the right amount of heat. Would ramen here again.
Will not take an order over the phone for pick up. Horrible service, over priced food.one to avoid.
Great food, good selection of quality craft beers. Fast service by friendly and attentive staff. Not much room to move and a little close to those next to you otherwise spot on.
Amazing place. One of the best vegan ramen in Melbourne (up there with Neko Neko). Great selection of dishes and drinks and they deliver far. Restaurant is great for small groups and has a warm vibe.
