Shizuku Ramen & Craft Beer reviews
75 - Really good vegan truffle ramen (noodles come cooked, not raw) + the vegan turkey and rice. Genuinely some of the best food I’ve ever had.
- really horrible service. Don’t answer phone, have like 15 ghost accounts on ubereats and will often cancel after an hour into waiting for your food.
Shizaku ramen truly is my toxic lover ~ always leaves you wanting more but is the pain of them turning their back on you worth it?
Have ordered from here a number of times in the past, and only ever now when there is literally nothing else open. They are very expensive for very small serves of meat with lots of rice among other things, but that is only a small reason for the low rating.
In my area, there are literally more 10 separate restaurant listings all of the same place, all listing the same food, some advertising as vegan and gluten free only restaurants when I know these are places that also serve meat. It is infuriating that this place clogs up half of the open restaurants with the same food. I literally never want to order from here anymore because of how frustrated I am by this. I can't filter them out because all the "restaurants" are under different names.
Multiple times I've ordered from this restaurant, have waited 40-90minutes and then had my ordered cancelled suddenly with no contact from the store.they never answer when I try to contact them.
Often the reason for cancelled delivery is "delivery not possible" but my house is clearly marked and easy to find, no other restaurant has ever had trouble finding it.
Horrible service, pure laziness from them.
I will not be ordering again and I would advise others not to either.
Absolute joke of a 'business'. Ordered food on uber eats nearly 2 hours ago and hasn't arrived and the phone number they give doesn't even ring. No contact from them whatsoever even though delivery time said 20 mins. Upon looking further into it they have 10+ business names running from the same address on the app. Didn't know you could be scammed on uber eats but apparently you can. Avoid at all costs.
I understand the bad reviews if you are unaware that the noodles need to be soaked in boiling water/cooked. They do provide instructions. This is done to improve the meal, and make it restaurant, not takeaway quality. Noodles are much better freshly cooked, with the soup added immediately on top. Yes, you may need to also quickly reheat the soup. This is more a gourmet dine-at-home restaurant experience, than take away. Which is what Shizuku Ramen is, and worth the money. Apart from that, I don't understand the bad reviews, as we live nearby and eat Ramen a lot, and this is one of the best in Melbourne, especially for the exotic fusion Ramen dishes on the menu.
I'm completely at a loss, how some people have rated this so low. Perhaps the restaurant was having a bad day? Or perhaps it's because it is really good and there are FAKE Ubereats listings. Get the real restaurant and you will not be disappointe, I guarantee it.
Ordered ramen on Uber. Took 1.5 hours after delivery announced time to arrive. Restaurant of course not taking calls. And best thing of it all is that you have to cook the noodles yourself. Avoid that place.
Cancelled my UberEats order almost an hour after I'd placed it with no explanation. A phone call would have been nice! Plus, they have loads of listings with different names on UberEats, so keep an eye out for Planta, Vegan Valley, Bao Station, Take A Bao, Pleats Gyoza, Slurp Shop - Laksa & Ramen, Soko Ramen, Oh! Ramen, and Greedi Gyoza, to name a few.
I'm not sure why this place isn't higher ranked? Do not rate a store off of delivery ramen. That's impossible to get correct and i salute any store trying! The instore experience is lovely. I had the Kuro Mayu Tonkotsu. The egg was OUTSTANDING, full of flavour, perfect temp and a lovely cooked. Add extra chashu and seaweed, one of my favourites. Also a favourite of other ramen workers, which goes to show the authenticity and flavour profile
Really sleazy trading practices on Uber Eats. Set up as multiple different restaurants (e.g. VGF & Sons) ; accepts multiple orders but cancels them half an hour later.
Ordered on uber eats. The restaurant provided own driver. Waited an hour. Got notification. Thought it was “ur order has been delivered” instead it was “restaurant could not fulfill order”. When you’ve been waiting an hour…. Very poor form. Won’t be ordering or going here again.
SCAM! Terrible service, food never arrived, no one picks up the phone. This place is a hoax, don’t order from there!
It's been 2.5 hours now since we ordered on Ubereats. We've gone and got other food delivered in the mean time, which we're eating now. No update on the app, no phone call, and they won't pick up phone calls to the restaurant. Looks like we're not the only ones. An absolute disgrace.
I havent been this disappointed since Batman v Superman.
To begin with they wouldn't answer the phone, which should've been enough of a red flag to me. For anyone walking past you can't just seeing in, you have to order and pay via UberEats or their convoluted system.
My girlfriend and I arrived early as our UberEats order was 'ready' waited another 5 minutes for our to be ready, Okay no biggey.
After walking the 400m back to our place we realised that the noodles were RAW and we'd have to cook them ourselves. Our already barely hot ramen was warm by the time we'd boiled water and cooked the noodles. They don't give you a bowl or any spoons so I'd have no idea what you'd do if you were somewhere without a kitchen.
The noodles were really good once cooked and the broth was passable. The soy egg looked as pale as a ghost and the chashu pork was 2 small pieces so thin they looked like they came from a deli slicer. The bamboo shoots were also weirdly crunchy.
Don't waste or time or money here, go to Hakata Gensuke in Glenferrie instead. P
Gyoza were tasty though.
Was so disappointed to wait for 40 mins to have food that wasn’t even cooked. What’s the point of getting take away when you have to cook it yourself. What if I didn’t have a kitchen and spent $60 on take away that “I” had to cook. Could of spent 5 on cup of noodles from woolies that taste better
Ordered Uber eats - restaurant to deliver.
They cancelled the order after 45min of waiting. Terrible.
Terrible they cancelled the order after a 1 hr wait. Unable to contact restaurant on the phone so don't bother. Stay well away!
Worst on uber eats, said they were making it and didnt arrive waited 20 mins after still nothing called 8 times and it would ring through i will never order here again
I ordered from here via Uber Eats and as I am writing this, it has been over 2.5 hours since it was supposed to arrive. They haven't picked up any of my phone calls, nor provided a new delivery time when requested.
Do NOT order from this place, also trading as Tori Tori on uber eats. My order was running late, only to be cancelled over an hour into me trying to track it. Tried calling multiple times, no one picked up.
No way to make a complaint
Complete disrespect for customers, DO NOT order!
Absolute garbage service, cancelled my order after an hour of waiting. Do not get it on uber eats or any other delivery service. They won't answer calls. If you're going to cancel an order do right away instead of wasting my time.
Shame on you!
