I went here with my friend and we had the best time sharing great food and wine. At first when we arrived the place seemed empty but it soon picked up and the place was busy and thriving. This place is so cosy, serves good food and wine, the waiter was lovely and funny and you can actually have a decent conversation with someone as unlike most restaurants where I find the surroundings are too loud to do so. Overall I had a positive experience and would recommend for people to go to this restaurant for just a lovely time.

Food was OK but not outstanding. Price was reasonable but comparatively very small serve size. Ordered a plate of mushroom risotto a bit slightly undercooked.

Decided to have Italian this evening, at Scugnizzo. The staff were welcoming which made my wife and I relaxed.

We ordered the Diavola pizza. Which was absolutely delicious!

A serving of olive oil was really nice. Cloudy in colour.

Main course, my wife Risottao Al Funghi. A little disappointed, because it was served luke warm. I ordered Fettuccine Paprika. Once again it was also served luke warm.

It’s a pity the meals were luke warm. Five stars would have been given.

The service was very good though and would be worth another try, another time.

The service was terrible. We didn't get water or the menus for like 20 minutes (after asking for it 2x), we didn't get any bread, had to constantly keep asking for water, got my food wrong and then they charged a card fee on top of everything else!

No Cab Sav on the night I went as a group or 2 at lunchtime had drunk them out. Obviously no reserves.
Service very slow and disinterested.
Food. That's what we were there for.
Antipasto platter fine. After that.molto ordinario.
Consequently, no real choice if wine, ordinary food and overpriced.
Don't bother.

Pizzas were delicious! We had a huge group of 35 go in! Service was on point! The staff were friendly and delicious food!

$23 for the blandest, most uninteresting potato gnocci I have ever had. Perhaps the lunch time business dropped the quality.

This is warm place where to experience real southern Italian food prepared by Carmine, he brings the traditional recipes with several innovative touches. The menu is well balanced with the right number of dishes to guarantee the quality and freshness of the ingredients. You will also experience the interaction with the chef Carmine always eager for constructive feedback and to interact with his customers.

PS don't ask for cheese over fish dishes, in Italy it is not well perceived)

Great pasta, freshly made. Cannoli lacked flavoring in the cream. Nice service and friendly staff.

Scugnizzo was suggested by the concierge at our hotel. A small family owned Italian restaurant off little Bourne st in Melbourne. Service was great, started by the wife, owner and we had a great meal. I had the crusted pork chop and Ann, the pork risotto, both very good. Food service was quick, but not so we couldn’t have a leisurely glass of Prosecco. Wine list a bit limited, but we found a Pinot Grigio that worked well with both our meals. This is worth searching out.

Genuinely the best Italian in Melbourne. A journey through real Italy in our own City, fabulous.

Delicious fresh pasta, great wine and exceptional, personable service. Will be back next time I visit Melbourne. Loved the ambience of the restaurant.
