Sarawak Kitchen reviews
80Their food in big portion so I need to share with my friend. Their service is good. The waitresses are nice.
It's not open yet, but we are queuing up, hahaha.
The fried rice noodle pot was full of steam and the waiter brought it to us
Before I even take it in my mouth, the entire aroma has already filled my nose.
It's a little salty, but paired with the drink, it's refreshing.
Kolo noodles + pork offal soup
There is a lot of noodles, the meat is very fragrant, and you will feel full after eating it.
But my boyfriend said this is a normal portion in Malaysia
I said: This is extra noodles in Taiwan
This room is on my boyfriend's pocket list. He said it quite literally and he would miss home.
Our family of four went to eat. The beef noodles with egg noodles, pork ribs noodles, Hainanese chicken and sweet and sour chicken balls and rice were all good, large and delicious. The service guys are very friendly and I will definitely go there in the future.
The people working there were really nice. The laksa tasted like its base was from a jar rather than made from scratch (sorry). The fried fish in the fish laksa was an interesting and tasty addition. The laksa was very salty though and not like the creamy laksas I’m used to. Nice sitting in the window, watching the people stroll by. Hot teh tarik for $5.20 was nice enough, even if in quite a small cup for the price.
Always our favorite place to go for
When missing home cook kolo mee. Thank you for provided us the taste we are looking for. Perfectly cooked char sew and noodles.
A very quick dinner, had the Sarawak Laksa, it’s served with Rice noodle, bot my favourite but it’ll do. Usually it’s come with Rice noodle and hokkien noodle. But the broth was pretty okay, just hopefully they could make it richer. And i had the Gor Loh Mee, which is dried noodle with thin sliced BBQ pork and pork minced, a very simple dish, unfortunately the noodle was over cooked. The flavour did remind me of home.
Went to this place last weekend, ordered the noodle and dumplings. The dumplings is average, but the noodle was horrible.
Don’t understand why this place got good reviews, fairly rate is 2.5.
Kolo mee special used to be great, but went again last week and now they're using the wrong noodle. Too thin, and ends up dry / tasteless.
Food came out very quickly, however one dish took particularly long to arrive. Everyone in the group basically finished theirs before the dish arrived. Seems like they have forgotten about the order, but we did we did remind them twice.
Waiting for 40mins and everyone around me end up went to the counter to order instead. Only one staff and more than 15 tables. Poor the waitress.
I got the beef rendang. The flavours were good but the beef itself was bad, only fat, I could barely eat it. The vegetarian options were also lacking.
Very nice malaysian in Melbourne. Went for lunch and i had beef rendang nasi lemak. Great taste. Rendang was juicy and tender. Nasi lemak was well cooked. Service was on point. Went in during lunchtime and food came out quick. Inside and outside sittings available. Unfortunately they have no toilet.
We came here for a quick lunch and ordered the Sarawak Laksa (Rice vermicelli served with egg, fish cake, chicken, prawns, and bean sprouts in laksa soup - $ 15.20).
The dishes were served quick and piping hot. Ask for an extra sambal on the side, specifically for the one made for Laksa (as they have different ones), and you will never regret it! It adds so much flavour and heat, making the dish far more enjoyable!
The place can get packed quickly, so prepare yourself to wait.
This place has great food AND great service. The staff are very kind. 10/10 will come again! ️️
Sarawak laksa needs more depth in flavour still good regardless. Service was quick and you get 5% discount by paying cash.
Good value esp for a
place in the CBD. It would be great if they offered Rojak as well! The Rojak sauce goes so well with Kolomee! Reminds of my childhood days from that region.
The fried fish is really tasty and the kolok mee with ribs was nice and portions are good. Loved their teh ais. Also, the service was fast and staff are pleasant.
The Kolok Mee was good and the soup that went with it tasted so flavourful. Came with inerts as well. Had the Roasted Sarawak Laksa, though Sarawakian would say it's not authentic and it tastes powdery-like for the seasoning and kantan (coconut milk), I think they made it tasty. The meehun (vermicelli) was done just right. I like my dish with some vegetables and they put aubergine, tau pok and long beans in it. There are other Malaysian dishes as well.
Quick and easy place for a bite. Mostly noodle dishes. I had the Penang kway teow which was good. Well priced and good serving sizes
A work mate invited me for dinner whilst on night shift, construction, Metro Tunnel station, on Franklin ST.
OMG
The most amazing food.
Large portions & cooked to perfection!
Oh & cheap too!
Even the staff were cool.
An AMAZING place, so authentic.
Will visit you again this week.
