Sandringham Hotel / The Sandy

It's strange to me this location, I remember going to a place as a child in the early 1980's all I remember is the being inside looking outside the front and seeing a massive beach background while the rest of my family were there for some eating occasion and there were alot of people etc. I never forgot the even after maybe 38 years ago! Just by chance while taking the bus home did The Sandy catch my eye and I knew instantly that this was the place I was trying to remember after so long. Now that I remember this place now, I hope to go back there just once but do they or will they ever have an eating social function again especially in these times? ! I don't know but here's hoping after all I wad 5 when I visited here now 43 sigh.

Great spot for a pot with a view! Need to work out entry and exit paths to the different areas though, current floor plan is a navigational nightmare

Some wonderful front of house staff who are really attentive to your table’s needs within the context of COVID protocols. Meals are ok and on slightly large size.

Yummy steak and very cold beer. Stella Artois on tap. Very generous serving and excellent Sportsbar.

Sandy's never disappoint, just that of they provide take away for the leftover would be amazing, would help save food waste aswell.

Look i was tied into giving this place a good star rating as the beef ribs were the best I've ever had, but the service was poor. We were advised we needed to leave our table whilst we were still eating. We had a group of 8, kids included and because of covid there was a 2 hour period to order n eat. As it was so busy the orders didn't get taken until an hour into our reservation and food came a further 40 mins there after. Leaving us with 20 min to eat mains and then we had to order the kids ice cream as we were pushed off the table so they had to eat it on a outside table in the cold.

Large portions, we had a parmy, slow cooked meat pie decent mash, peas and onion rings. Pumpkin curry, and southern fried burger all meals were well presented not bland over or under cooked nice plates. We are not locals but recommend it with a ocean view and great atmosphere what's not to like.

How much are you prepared to pay for a standard public bar parma? Well on quiz night I was hungry enough to pay $28.00 for a parma with gravy.

Great big bistro with great food great staff and awesome for families and groups there's a kids area
Close to beach and transport we had a great night all 22 of us booked in and you can order individually or as a group which was super handy

Great Bar with nice view from the balcony. The Furphys was only $7 a pint! Also, the steak was pretty good, the only downside was the waiter at the bar where we ordered our steak wasn't that friendly and hence the 4 stars.

Noisy, dirty and understaffed on a weekend. I Just dont understand how a place like this would be understaffed on a weekend, order took 45 min, came in cold and our table was dirty. It was my first time coming here and it will be the last, very unfortunately since the location and the views are pretty good.

Worth a visit nothing flash but nothing bad it's honest and genuine good place for a meal and a drink

I had an amazing tea. I like my steak med/well which in turn can make it quite tuff. But this wasn't the case it was the best steak I have ever had. Well done to the chef. I am staying the night and I am very very happy with the accommodation. Five star service and food.

Nice food, kicked out to let the next mob in for lunch. Wheelchair entrance out back, so have to enter via the gaming room, then a staff member had to unlock door so we could get I to the dining area

The bistro is stunning and perfect on a winters night with the fireplace in the centre of the room. The food is a higher standard than your usual pub food & the service is fantastic. Erson served us and was lovely and helpful with the menu. Highly recommend the sweet potato fries & the Parma!

Great atmosphere for a beautiful night out for dinner. Friendly staff and a nice easy menu to choose from. Family friendly or just a couple. Highly recommend

Really awesome live music makes for a great vibe at this sprawling pub. I would recommend going on a music night; the dining room that didnt have music had a totally different, neglected vibe.

Been renovated to a steakhouse. Now has table service with great food. The $18 lunch special was worth every cent! New carpet, tables and chairs and as always great view.
