Great place to stay and eat! The hotel rooms are super comfortable and clean, most of them with a fantastic view. The two restaurants are simply amazing!

Highly recommended. Celebrate my husband’s birthday? Staff, hospitality, food, drinks, views, park, everything was beyond my expectations. It’s worthy. One must visit nd have lifetime experience. Thanks

Upon calling to make a reservation, we were disappointed to hear that the restaurant was fully booked for both lunch and dinner. However, upon arriving at the restaurant, we were pleasantly surprised to find plenty of free tables.

The hanger steak was absolutely delectable - cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. The lamb shoulder with pea sauce was equally tasty, and the strawberry tart was a delightful finish to the meal. I will say, they did cut the tart in half which felt a bit stingy. If the chef intended for the tart to be smaller - perhaps they could have made the portions a bit smaller to begin with.

Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience at the Royal Mail. The service was impeccable (except the reception on the phone) and the food was truly divine.

Sehr schönes Appartement mit Aussicht auf die Grampians.
Gutes Essen, bekannt für Weine und Frühstück im Zimmer.

Stayed here for 4 nights a few years ago. What a beautiful hotel, views of the Grampians, great service, good breakfast too. Dinner at the bistro is excellent, and the degustation fine dinning was fantastic. One of the finest wine lists you will ever come accross. Looking forward to going back again!

We arrived way earlier than we planned and decided to keep going on our trip.
We had a look around and it looked really good.
Regretting not waiting for them to open

Just had lunch here. OMG, just incredible. Best gnocchi we’ve ever eaten. Chicken was superb, such an unexpected surprise. Beautiful venue and lovely staff too.

This is an odd review. I don't ever write a review on a place I haven't yet been to, but I had to write this one purely on the 6 start customer experience I had when booking with the Royal Mail Hotel. I could write an essay on how seamless, stress-free and prompt the experience was in light of several hurdles: in particular the person I dealt with, Maeve, could not have done more for my requirements, and then exceeded them without having to or being asked.
If the accommodation and dining experience is half as good as the booking experience, I think I will be very, very happy. Thank you Maeve for your world-class attention and customer service.

Staff - sub par / rude and inattentive
Food - okay
Grounds - beautiful tree
Toilets - dirty and the toilet glued together

Save your money try the Bunyip Hotel, Cavindish

Dear Team,
I would like to sincerely thank all at Royal Mail for a truly superb experience. My stay with friend Claire relaxed and refreshed us especially as we had been unable to visit in 2021 due to Covid.
Both Parker St Project and Wickens were amazing…both gastronomic delights. The kitchen garden tour imparted so much knowledge and fed deeply into our dining experience at Wickens that evening.
I would personally like to thank Shannon for her professionalism in ensuring my comfortable accommodation…the whole stay was a delight!
Kind regards and many thanks for the warmth we experienced with you.

Visited during an excursion and the general manager was very hospitable. The garden and wine cellar tour was truly something to look forward to as well. Very insightful.

Service was appalling, staff were completely dis-interested in being polite. Not worth the hype and price. Good places become terrible and unfortunately this is that place. Try the Bunyip Hotel in Cavendish instead.

Whole experience was simply beautiful.
From the stays at the Cottage to the dining experiences at both restaurants.
A must is the Garden tour and wildlife conservation tour.
The Cellar tour was excellent.
Credit to all the staff and to Robin Wickens who put on a superb dinner in the Wickens restaurant.
Our 30th Anniversary will not be one we forget in a hurry.

Didn't live up to high expectations.
RESTAURANT:
Heard lots of great reviews about Wickens and unfortunately was left disappointed. At $250 pp (and like 3 additional dishes at $20 to $25 each) I expected to be wowed by every meal. Presentation and creativity of dishes was commendable but the taste left me parched and thirsty after every dish - some too salty, some too swear. Flavours were delicate enough. Serves were decently sized but given saltiness, we were yearning for more. (we order all additional dishes and asked to cancel 1 because just felt way too much). Very extensive wine and drinks list. Dining room is beautiful with great views, however tables are lined in rows, so unless you have a pretty early booking, you'll be sitting on the back tables.
Bit inconsistent timing between courses, after an hour we had only received our first course (granted we had drinks and canapes) but a 6.30pm booking meant we left at like 10.30pm (and even took the canapes back to our room) so highly recommend not booking after 7 if you want to get out at a reasonable time.
Service was very attentive, warm and welcoming.
We booked via a package so it made it more affordable given we went on a Thursday night and stayed there too.

ACCOMMODATION:
OK, but clealiness wasn't amazing. Stayed in Mountain view room, however not much privacy as walking track is close to balcony. Use cigarette bud left in ashtray outside and a stack of fat dead flies along the window. Bed comfy, bathroom heated tiles a nice touch. Small breakfast provided and coffee machine, but more old school hotel mini bar rather than something that's useful and exciting.

All in all, I'm not going back, but I enjoyed the evening at Wickens enough. And if you wanna go, go for it, but just know it will be expensive and I've had better winery meals for far cheaper. Book midweek for more availability and accommodation, the convenience of staying there was invaluable.

We stayed in the Mt Sturgeon Cottage for a weekend. Accommodation was rustic, authentic, clean and well appointed. The bed was especially comfortable! Staff were exceptionally welcoming and extremely pleasant across the weekend. Dinner at Wickens absolutely amazing experience and food was exquisite. Parker St dinner the next night fantastic again, lovely waitress. We did the Wildlife Tour and the Kitchen Garden Tour with Robin Wickens which were extremely informative and a must do. The backdrop and scenery are stunning. We had an amazing weekend and total experience here, we will definitely be back again. An absolute Victorian gem!
