The burger was way to sickening, double cheeses was way way to much for me I kind of want to trough up! But the staff were amazing I must say

Not kid friendly at all, especially younger ones. Waitress with the red hair was absolutely rude, I don't care how bad a day you're having if you're in hospitality the least you can do is be hospitable.
Ordered wedges for the kids, who has wedges on the menu without sourcream and sweet chilli? Coffee was good, place itself is nice (bit squishy) but definitely not one for the family.

Had the Rueben sandwich and Big breakfast both were yum especially the Rueben which was so tasty and filling. Booking recommended especially on weekends.

Second time I've been so lucky to eat at this beautiful cafe. The vibe is very chill. In the inside you have beautiful views of the forest. Staff are extremely lovely and helpful. Food is outstanding. Best chefs. Coffee is amazing. I also bought some doggie treats and sticky chai, there are other treats including homemade sauces. I'd recommend to make a booking here

Absolutely overpriced and not worth waiting for hrs to be fed. The food is bland and the service is terrible.
Waited hrs for my overpriced sausage roll and was rudely answered when I asked how long it would be after an hr.
Will not go back.

Unfortunately our experience here was not great We have friends in the hills who were disappointed as locals but thought we would give it a try anyway.
The food was really overpriced for what it was. We also had to wait a long time and found the reception cold (as the coffee). Wouldn’t go back. Too pricy and prickly.

I ordered a couple of meat pies for takeaway lunch. Although these have been delicious on previous occasions, next time I will be prompting the staff to reheat them in the oven (huh?). Most recently they were served microwaved and falling apart. I wish I had noticed sooner as they had to be eaten like a bowl of soup.

I've been a regular at Ripe for many years and have seen a few proprietors come and go in that time. Right now, the food is great, the coffee is top shelf and the cafe itself is warm and welcoming. The staff are courteous, helpful and fast. They also did a fantastic job through lockdown and in navigating all the associated check-in and cleanliness procedures. I highly recommend Ripe to any visitors to Sassafras.

I really want to like this cafe. It looks great the quality of food and drinks is fine and as a local, proximity to home is what gets it a star. The sinking feel I get everytime I order, and am treated like a wild inconvenience is appalling. I've been looking for a way to give up coffee and maybe this will be it.

Great food. Ripe burger was yum with awesome patties, cheese and bacon. The salad wasn't great and they really need a liquor license. Was graving a bloody mary!

The staff here are always so welcoming and helpful. We've been here a few times and the food has been consistently excellent! We'll be back for sure.

Very nice place, good option for celiacs, food was great I had calamari with Asian slaw 100% delicious great coffee also. Staff are super friendly

Had the cheeseburger. Beef patty was nice, soft and moist. Burger wasn't drowned in sause. It was just right. Fries were nice and crispy on the outside. Kind of caramelisedish. Small portion of garnish salad was fresh and crunchy and just enough to clean the palette. Make sure to book ahead as it gets really busy here

That meals and atmosphere was very nice! However they did struggle with back to back Mother's Day sittings. Delay moving one sitting on to accommodate the next sitting. Also running out of multiple menu items, therefore not available for the second sitting.

Decided on a little Saturday road trip to the Dandenong Ranges and we settled on Ripe for Lunch. Lucky! Busy with locals and others who had the same road-tripping idea.

Lovely, plentiful lunch, a good serve for the Vegetarian Big Breakfast. The food that was coming out around us looked delicious, those burgers!

Added bonus being outside on a beautiful day. Great staff, great service, good food and lovely coffee. Recommend.
