Service was good, atmosphere was nice. The big breakfast wasn't overly big and the spinach tasted like it was cooked in salt water which over powered the taste of everything else. It also had lettuce taking up the plate making it harder to eat. Was alright but didn't quite live up to the price

The wedges are to die for. Please talk quietly with friends otherwise you will be reprimanded by the staff. Also you might get in trouble if you order vegan and it comes with eggs and you complain. Food is excellent no complaints about that.

YUM! It takes a special something to truly be impressed by the extraordinary high quality of food offered in Melbourne Cafe's. We had the Veggie Medley and Eggs Bennie. The Medley was the best veggie spread we have ever had. No photos unfortunately.busy eating!
The atmosphere perfectly captured the environment of where you are. You feel like you are in a luxury mountain destination, with a touch of home always there with you. We sat in the 'outdoor terrace' which was converted to an indoor space to keep us warm. Loved it so much we came back the next day for exactly the same thing!: D

Ordered take away after being told that they were fully booked. 4 tables outside were reserved but absolutely free as we waited for our food and began to eat it as it came out. The food was cold. Hope we’re not sick tomorrow. The croissant and scone with jam and cream were good.

Love Ripe! The food is excellent, the staff are all wonderful and I would book if it's a weekend. It can get busy, and for good reason!

And coffee was always great. But today pretty average.
And food was too.
And I'm only being honest.

Mother’s Day 2023
After attending Ripe this afternoon I think it’s more appropriate to call this place Fawlty Towers. Although the food was nice it was obvious the kitchen could not handle the large number of bookings as it took nearly 2 hours to be served our entree and main meal. Meanwhile the owner was making his best effort to impersonate Basil by annoying his staff and being unhelpful to the customers.
Despite experience we will always visit Ripe for their yummy hot chocolates but perhaps not their Mother’s Day lunch.

I’ve been a customer for 20 years but they’ve now lost me. Our last visit involved waiting 45 minutes for coffee and one hour for food. The meals are overpriced for questionable quality. The service has gone really downhill, with wait staff walking past us paying no attention so that even getting a glass of tap water was a challenge. A frustrating visit.

Front of cafe, 4-5 free tables. Waited for more than an hour because staff refused to change holding of “original table”. That would be fine except those tables out the front were empty for the whole hour we were waiting. Getting in was no better- honestly the worst service I’ve ever had from a cafe. Rude staff, didn’t give a menu and we had to sit for 15 minutes and ask for a menu and water. Following this, had to wait almost 30 minutes before we could order food- staff would keep walking to give people food, putting their heads down and running back inside. For the prices this place charges, you’d expect much better service. Do yourself a favour and do not come here!

Had a superb breakfast here with family on 29 December. They were busy and warned us that the food may take a little longer than normal… we still all had our food in just over 9 minutes. The waitstaff were polite and attentive. I’d highly recommend this place to anyone.

Not one of the modern Melbourne cafes imo. The waffles were decent but very rich, didn't have enough tartness or crispy, crunchy elements to balance the taste. The vegetarian brekky was alright and chai was good.

Cozy place. Did not expect it to be so big and cozy. Great food and coffee as well. Not far from parking space

Great and family friendly cafe! Very nice service and food there is lovely. We had the cheese burger with a special tomato based sauce which I like most. Also the linguine marina (should be marinara) with prawn is delicious with big portion. Coffee is a must at this cafe and we finished with a nice affogato!

Awful when busy. Ordered four drinks before closing, waited 30 mins to receive nothing and then left. And no communication about the status of our orders.

Open Early, Fantastic friendly Service, Healthy & hearty food- Best hot chocolate in Melbourne. Very kind to travellers

Had an amazing brunch here today. Caters for dietary requirements. Friendly fast service on a busy day. Coming back to try out their lunch menu.

Great cafe in a gorgeous spot but the menu has changed recently. Lunch options are very limited and only
Offer two pastas and two burgers. There’s no options for sandwiches, salads, pies or anything a bit lighter which is quite limiting. Other than that it is a gorgeous spot.

Really nice coffee and brunch menu selection, rider friendly, very pleasant staff and fast service. Been going there for years now, great to see it improving with age.
