Pinsent Hotel

We were shown to a table and told x person would take out orders soon. We made our choices from the menu and waited and waited. While we waited we saw 3 other tables being served by person x (all had been seated after us). After waiting for over 20 minutes with no service we left
We have been gere many times before ans not experienced this lack of service. Not impressed!

Very disappointing, the food is not too bad but when not even a third of the table have gotten their food and the rest are waiting, and seemingly the same can be said about other tables, it's very telling of how organised this establishment is.
I feel for the waiters who are trying their best to maintain this chaos but nonetheless, appalling.

Stopped in for lunch on Saturday with mum, we both ordered the crumbed calamari with salad and chips, was absolutely delicious, large serve, and the calamari so tender, loved it! Will be coming back a lot to work my way through their fabulous menu! Staff are fantastic too!

Always difficult to give a venue 5 stars but, I watched as the staff busted their chops relentlessly, delivered meals of magnificent quality, never seen or heard one grizzle ftom any of them all within areally warm environment, and the Great Northern was chilled a treat. Congratulations the Pinsent.

On arrival we were pleasantly surprised to find that we could have our table 3/4 hour early.
After that unfortunately the service standard went decidedly down hill.
Our initial water was decidedly grumpy and uninterested, when asked questions about the menu was unable to answer with any knowledge.
When asked to confirm where our drinks were was decidedly rude by answering the bar staff will deal with that.
Ok so entree arrived and was pretty good. However we did have to ask a second time for plates to share the entree.
The mains arrived with chips cold and pasta below an acceptable temperature.
Having said that the pasta main was very tasty.
The fish and chip main quite basic with cold chips.
Table service left a lot to be desired and attention to detail (with the exception of the bar staff) almost nil.
It's not the Pisent I remember, and although covid and lockdown may be a great excuse, this was way worse than that.
You really need to lift your game team, especially if you want return customers.
Unfortunately we will not be rushing back at this point and we are regular visitors to the region.

Great service the meals were excellent. The calamari was so tender. Thanks for an amazing lunch.

We first had a meal here late February 2022, Really disappointed that it took nearly an hour for our 2 Pama's although the meal was very nice the size was smaller than we expected from a country Pub. Just incase the Pinset had a bad night with service and to be fair we booked again tonight, Very disappointing the service was worse, Still had to wait an hour after ordering our Parma's and even though our booking was at 6pm so annoying watching other customers that come in after us get thier meals while still waiting. Finally meal comes, Sorry but Luke warm tiny Parma's waiting so long for, Last time we'll be booking for a meal here.

Friendly staff, delicious large meals at reasonable prices. Beautiful bistro. Would return if we were back in Wangaratta.

Great local pub! We stopped in on our way through from Melbourne and the food was great and the staff were so lovely and helpful. Fantastic country hospitality!

Had a wonderful night the service was amazing. A big shout out to Matty the chef our meals were just superb. Absolutely great all round given the circumstances of being short staffed. Amazing job to everyone

I've decided to give this 5 stars as we enjoyed our visit. We had an early dinner on Saturday night. The staff on the night were friendly and attentive. It was a relaxed atmosphere. The senior's meal is good value. The dishes looked delicious as they were taken to their respective tables. However, I could not finish my meal, but I enjoyed my order. The price was reasonable for the two types of meals and beer. I would go back here again.

Called in for lunch today with two friends and I was greeted with a very friendly and helpful lady. We ordered a Parma, carbonara and salt/pepper squid. ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL. COOKED PERFECTand it came out fast too. Staff are wonderful. We look forward to going back soon

Big menu & big meals, GF & vego options. Not too noisy as floor is mostly carpet. Tables spaced apart well, not cramped.

Had dinner here on 21st January 2022. Meal was beautiful, highly recommend this pub for a meal. Our main concern was the lack of concern or compliancy in regards to wearing masks by staff members. We were greeted by a staff member without a mask at all, we had masks on as this is a public health order and we choose to protect ourselves and others. The young fellow then asked to see our vaccination status (somewhat contradictive if he is choosing not to comply with wearing a mask). The staff were all very nice, but unfortunately have no regard for the safety of patrons in regard to health orders. Staff do not know if patrons are vulnerable. Of the 4 staff members we had contact with last night 1 only wore his mask correctly and that was the young man serving drinks, so kudos to you young man, thank you.

Nice place with a good menu. They have specials on during the week, and you can become a member for more great rewards. The food is excellent and I have rearely had a bad dish from here. There is good bar service here with friendly staff, with TAB. At the back of the hotel there are some poker machines and a smoking area. You can book rooms to stay over, I have not been in one though. All round a wonderful place to visit for a meal and drinks.

Even through Covid the staff always make you feel welcome and the service is second to none, great menu selections beautifully prepared, not to be missed

Was on my own with my dog, these guys made me welcome on the front tables, I explained that Kenny, my dog, barks if I'm out of site, so I got full on table service, great service and meals!

We ordered 2 glasses of wine which took over 15 minutes to arrive, pork belly was nice, had sticky date pudding which arrived eventually but it was cold (think they forgot to put it in the microwave to heat it up as the “sauce” was still solid on top),
