Pfeiffer Wines

Used to be one of our favourite wineries to visit when we came to Rutherglen.
However, their organisation (or complete lack thereof) at Taste of Rutherglen left much to be desired. Other wineries were making an effort to move people through a tasting process in a COVID safe manner, whether seated (as soon as a table cleared, people were sat) or socially distanced standing. At Pfeiffer, they said no to a taste of anything unless you had a booking - whether or not you had your armband or tasting glass. This was when the tasting area was completely empty. No attempt to allow attendees to taste when there was clear availability.
Additionally, we had booked a table on the bridge in the evening, expecting there to be a bar/tasting area and to be near the band. We ended up leaving after not very long as all you got was a seat - no amenities close, and the band a long distance away.
When we arrived there wasn't even any proper food available.
Did not live up to the promotional materials.

We had such a great experience at Pfeiffers. Sideen patiently walked us through the plethora of amazing wines (as well as some really interesting history) and we ended up staying there for almost two hours. We loved so many of the wines and it definitely is a can’t-miss when visiting Rutherglen. Loved seeing the turtles in the creek as well!

We had a great time today tasting your lovley wines and enjoying a cheese platter by the river we brought 15 bottles to take home to enjoy thanks for a great day we loved it.

The place is great. I loved feeding the turtles.they are so cute. But you'll need good aim or the fish will eat the food. Cordial is there for the kids. And according to parents
the wine is great (I'm only 14!)

A must see winery in the Rutherglen region. Huge selection of wines.
It was great to meet Jen Pfeiffer the winemaker after previously enjoying many of her wines through Naked Wines.
Thoroughly enjoyed our time here sampling the many varieties.
Be sure to take a walk through the winery over the bridge to the vineyard out the back and look out for the many turtles in the river below the bridge

Truly memorable experience. Spent the afternoon with a tasting and cheese board. The wines would easily be the best in the region (hands down) and the service was fun, personable and educational. Many thanks to Kylie and Robyn for sharing your knowledge and passion for your wines and area and for such a wonderful afternoon. I will definitely be back!

Book a tasting off their website, maybe add a cheese platter, and prepare to have your tastebuds tickled. To my taste its the bigger bodied wines and the fortified wines that are the standouts.

Brilliant experience and wines. If you only visit one winery in the region make it Pfieffers! Fantastic warm hospitality. Incredible choice of wines, great value wine club (if that’s your thing) and top it all off with a picnic on the bridge. We were treated like kings and left very happy.

We stopped here on a whim, and was so impressed! This winery has by far the widest range, and so many great wines. We didn’t feel as though we were limited to what wines we could or could not try, and the service was fab. Highly recommend.

Absolutely lovely winery in the heart of Rutherglen's wine region. The staff are very welcoming and the opportunity to enjoy a private glass of wine on the old bridge across the river is not to be missed. Well worth a visit.

Beautiful winery and stunning grounds including the bridge across the river. We had a wonderful few hours enjoying the wines over queen’s birthday weekend. Chris was a wonderful host taking the time go through all the wines we tasted. Can’t speak highly enough of the Pfeiffer team. We have since joined the wine club and eagerly look forward to our delivery’s of their fantastic wines. Highly recommended.

Great location for a picnic, right on the river. Enjoyed the picnic hamper with the local shiraz. Highlighted by wine tasting before & after.particularly the fortifieds!
