Paris Go Bistro reviews
80Great french cuisine, service is always professional, food is always on point. A regular for us. A must try for anyone.
Best, unassuming French Bistro around. Always fresh, consistent great quality food. Great French wine selection too!
Our family has been going to Paris Go regularly for over 20 years.
We have never been disappointed.
Gaby and his staff are always willing to go that little bit further to make each visit memorable.
Great French food and atmosphere. I love the fillet steak bearnaise washed down with a good Bordeaux.
We celebrated another special family occasion last night and I wanted to thank you very much, we had a wonderful time. Our meals were amazing, the service excellent and as you know we always return to celebrate and have done so for nearly a decade. We look forward to seeing you again very soon for another March birthday!
Great food & good choices. For a small restaurant, they have an extensive menu. My entree selection was excellent - pate, pickles, cured trout, etc. Main course of pork fillet, great, too. The winelist is impressive for such a small place. They let ypu BYO wine - a great plus in my book. Great food & excellent service for a moderate price. Go!
Like a French kiss - down under! First class flight to Paris and back, only i didn't want to leave! This is a charming and charismatic restaurant that makes you feel like you're in France. It is welcoming, and uniquely designed and laid out, and is made more authentic with the French waiters who literally sound like they're reading poetry whilst tending to you and your guests.
Now let's talk about the menu. I tried so many things (because my eyes are bigger than my stomach) from the starter menu and in addition to this, a main. If not for my limited stomach space, i could have kept going until i fell into a food coma. I'm no food critic, but as each dish was brought out all i could think of was my limited French vocabulary OOOOOH-LA-LA!
My taste buds were taken on a magical journey with each dish. I had the mixed oysters, a ravioli, a platter comprising of cold meats and bread, red onion camembert pastry, salad, and then for the grand finale, the filet bearnaise cooked to absolute perfection. The portions were generous, the flavours and textures were there and at one point i wiped the plate clean with my crusty baguette but really i wanted to lick it clean! Everything was exceptional!
Take my advice, go here and experience a piece of France in Carlton!
Great little place. Apparently it's been there forever, but I've only just found my way there. Sure it's all sorts of busy, getting food isn't the quickest process and I'm sure you need to book to ecen look at a table. But really, you're not going to end up here for a quick bite.
The food is amazing, the staff are super nice and the decor is exactly what I want. It's not over the top, it knows exactly what it is and does it well.
Give it a crack if you're looking for somewhere super nice for a night.
If you want rude front of house service cone here. This was our second time back only because food is delicious. Both male and female service staff need a lesson in front of house service. They'd be the rudist people around. Shame as restaurant food us excellent.
Won't be going back because of staff, only chef and his skills.
Have been coming here for fantastic french food for over 10 years for special occasions with my family. Never had a bad meal, The service is amazing, The french accents will make you swoon and the food is spectacular, Escargot, french onion soup, Quail and in my opinion the best Eye Filet Mignon with Bearnaise sauce and frites you will ever have. (pictures below 28/10/19) Melts in your mouth and so will you heart. And awesome creme brûlée Worth every cent.
Absolutely stunning. Each bite is a sensation. You won't be disappointed if you love French cuisine.
It was a very busy Sunday night and the sole waiter did a fantastic job. The food was superb. Perfectly cooked, delicious generous serves. We took some friends for their 50th and they were delighted with the whole food, service and ambience.
Excellent French menu. A bit pricey but worth it. Sevice was very good and nice to see byo is alive and well!
Loved the ambience. Went on a Tuesday night, so not too crowded or busy. Lovely wait staff and fantastic food and menu. Will come again!
My go to French restaurant. Always fantastic high quality food. And they take liven for payment, so i get a discount.bonus.
Excellent as usual especially with decent waiter Hugo Nora who we've had before is quiet rude and doesn't compliment restaurant with manner.
Despite being really excited for this place, we left feeling underwhelmed and disappointed. The service was excellent, but the food was below average. I had the soup for entree which was bland and cold. The beef bourguignon lacked flavor and wasn’t saucy as you would expect. The beef was tasteless and dry. My partner had the mussels for entree which were great and confit lamb for her main which was bland and dry. For an expensive restaurant, we expected a lot more. Such a shame considering we live just up the road from the restaurant. Won’t be returning.
Oh my!
Table for four so tried 4 entrees and 4 mains. And can not say which was most preferred! The food, service and atmosphere are all simply perfect!
2 courses is enough - even for a large appetite. Next visit I am having dessert - crepe Suzette!
As locals that have been to the restaurant many times we were really disappointed last Friday to be sat at a table adjacent to the bar and had our meal interrupted by at least 6 food delivery guys swinging around big backpacks and helmets. Its a very expensive meal to be dealing with that and we wont be returning.
My advice would be to Paris Go that they remove the table or the takeaway option and to patrons to be specific about where you want your table to be - otherwise save your money and go and eat Pizza on Lygon Street.
Great food, delicate fish. Mr wife had snapper and Uni had barramundi. The snapper had a wonderful buttery and wine sauce that was mopped up with lots of fresh bread. The barramundi comes with perfect scallops on a cauliflower puree that is excellent. The salad with a French blue vein cheese was nice, but I would have liked more cheese for$18. $41 a plate is high, $13 corkage is excessive. My wife's creme brulae was perfect and my pair Tartatin was great except for the crust was dense. $18 each id's still rather high. BUT the food is so good I'll be back. We have eaten here a couple times before and I lovef the beef bourginon, and we have never been disappointed. We had my wife's 50th function here and you rent out the entire place on a weekend as long as you have a minimum of 20 guests. They can do a set menu and they will include corkage and 3 courses at a descent price. Well worth it.
