Paris Go Bistro reviews
80 Ambience – 8/10
Nice décor, good spacing between tables and clean.
Friendliness – 8/10
Attentive and friendly wait staff.
Entrée ordered –
Escargots à la forestiére – 7/10
These are served without the shell. Flavour is good and not too oily.
Caille a la Marocaine (GFO) – 9/10
Grilled quail was amazing! Nice flavour coming from the spices. Very tender too.
Mains ordered –
Boeuf Bourguignon – 6/10
The beef was very average. Tender but lacks flavour. It depends on the just way too much for flavour. Mash was OK.
Agneau du Jour – 6/10
Lamb of the day with risotto. The lamb was cooked better than the beef. More flavour in it.
Dessert ordered –
Crème brulèe – 8/10
Nice generous portion. Cream was fantastic, smooth and not grainy at all.
Tarte aux pommes Hot thin pastry apple tart served with ice cream – 8/10
Another delicious dessert for a winter’s day. Pastry was nice and the apple was well cooked.
Thoughly enjoyed our evening at Paris Go Bistro. The staff (Nora & Hugo) treated us to the best of service, we felt so special. The food was amazing, cooked to perfection. Thank you Paris Go Bistro, we will be back!:)
BEST Frenchie cuisine in Lygon Street & the entire Carlton. Dishes are authentic, fresh & very tasty. Malaysian Lady Owner is friendly & helpful. Chef is hospitable & creative. Ambience is clean, cozy & comfy. Price is reasonably affordable. Dined here many times in 2012 to 2015.
Die die must try. Dont try, dont cry.
A decent ambience comprising casual Parisian setup but overpriced for what we got. Escargots were from a can and the coq au vin was a bit disappointing. Best dish was probably the baked deboned snapper. Two course dinner with wine at $70-80pp.
Highly recommended to everyone! You won’t be disappointed with all the food and staff here.
The waiter Hugo is really amazing! Definitely come back again!
Went here on a Sunday night with my Fiancé. It was busy however we got quiet table near the bar. We had two French waiters which were an absolute delight. They made recommendations and well versed with the menu. The French Onion soup was exquisite and a must have!
The food is phenomenal! The french onion soup is probably the best I’ve had outside France. And the whole setting and ambience is oh so Paris too.
This French bistro did not disappoint. They offer an excellent selection of dishes, from oysters through soups, charcuterie and classic French mains. The specials are seasonal driven. The wine list is sizeable and finely tuned. Plenty of locally sourced and French vino. The dessert menu also inspired. I had oysters (served three ways), the coq au vin (so tender) and apple tart. I envied the creme brûlée my friend had! And want to go back again to work my way through other dishes.
It was a beautiful experience. The food and flavours are beyond compare. The wine that went with each delicious morsel was pared perfectly. It is quite simply one of the best meals I’ve ever had in Melbourne (Tartare was incredible).
To have the staff be so friendly and engaged in our experience was simply an added bonus.highly recommended
There's an absolutely fantastic atmosphere here.
My wife and had lunch at Paris Go Bistro for the first time, it will certainly not be the last time. We highly recommend this establishment for any special occasion but as well as for a casual lunch with someone special. The menu is varied and the wine and spirit list comprehensive. Service was faultless and friendly.
Classic and unpretentious, definitely a Melbourne institution for French food.
A trifecta of excellent food, superb service and great ambience.
I recommend the steak tartare, duck confit and poulet du jour, yummmm!
Highly recommend.
The food was delicious, the service was excellent and it had a lovely ambience. Definitely recommend for special occasions.
Very nice place with a lively ambience and very good food.
Service was kind and helpful. Most of them are french and their accent adds a good vibe to the mood.
BYO was a good option because even though we brought our wine, the bill was a bit over what we had expected.
Fabulous French food, excellent wine selection, great service.a Must every time I visit Melbourne.
I forgot how much food you eat at a French table haha. Loved everything about our experience at Paris Go Bistro.
Had some escargots and assiette froide (pâté, deli meat) as entrées. Then, duck confit for him and fish with scallops for me. We returned completely clean plates. The duck was tender and the sauce amazing. The fish perfectly cooked and served with yummy greens. We even treated ourselves with desserts: tarte au citron and profiteroles. Un délice!
I loved it at Paris go Bistro. Amazing attentive garcons, fine taste and generous portions. The wine was just perfect. We had the duck confit for entree! What a great start
Excellent French food in a chic setting. Been my go to for French food. It's a classic and has been around for over 20yrs!
A Carlton/Melbourne, institution. 20+ years they've been serving excellent French cuisine. Tables, well spaced, accompanied by very professional servers. Don't take my word, for it, try it yourself.
Great dining experience post iso! Lovely staff that were helpful with choosing great wines, and the food was amazing for the price!
It's been three days since I was served this steak tartare and my goodness I cannot stop thinking about it. Words really cannot describe how mouth wateringly delicious this was. Literally everything was made to perfection - the tartare had a beautiful mix of all the greatest ingredients and the meat was so fresh, the ratio of onions and pickles to meat was perfectly balanced. Let's not forget the condiments, well I certainly won't and can't as the salad dressing was tasty and the amount was perfect and the chilli oil is nothing that I've ever had before it's light for an oil and had an amazing kick to it. Whoever was responsible for this steak tartare deserves at least a complete week of paid leave - please! I intend to be back on Friday night or the weekend so requesting a day of paid week that doesn't land on the day I come back would be selfish given he/she really deserves it but I trust that the quality of ParisGo and their staff. Thank you so much - It's been a while since I've written a review but this meal was too memorable to forget about. Well done!
