Paris Go Bistro

Fabulous French restaurant. I hadn't been here before but will definitely come again. Food and service were just great and it had an atmosphere of being in Paris. All the wait staff speak French.

Highly recommend this chic little French bistro for anyone looking for a special celebration or a treat to end the year.

Here's what we had:

Starters -

Ravioli
We will eat anything w/ a creamy basil sauce & this is no exception. Filled with goat's cheese, the sauce here was the real highlight and one that we couldn't get enough of.

Escargot
Perfectly cooked snail nestled atop a portobello mushroom, this starter encapsulated the whole experience - surprising, tender, & flavorful.

Pork Pate
Served w/ a side of cornichon & cocktail onions, we picked a pate that was deliberately a little different and great to try but not our favorite compared to the classic chicken liver variety.

Mains -
Lamb Special w/ Risotto
Incredibly tender, rich, & quite possibly some of the best lamb we’ve had, this dish was perfectly paired w/ a mushroom risotto that was at once earthy & aromatic.

Blue Cheese Chicken & Mash
If you love blue cheese, this is the dish for you; succulent chicken breast with blue cheese layered within, the plate was as rich as you imagine it to be & paired w/ mash that was as creamy and buttery as everything else.

Veal Rack w/ Truffle Mash
Herbaceous, tender, & medium; the veal racks were cooked to a perfect medium and the red wine sauce was to die for. That said, if we had one complaint it would be the inclusion of capers throughout the mash which we could've done without.

Snapper w/ Fennel
Buttery, flaky, & beautifully tangy; this snapper blew us away w/ its smooth butter sauce & silky fish. And if you're worried that the butter sauce might be indulgent, the lemon juice cuts through in a way that only it can to create a surprisingly balanced dish.

All good and very satisfactory. Food is excellent. Only possible area of complaint being the tables for a little close. Having said that I will down a dine there again, however I would note that their corkage charge seems a little high.

Lovely food and great service, but very loud inside and difficult to hear the conversation at our table.

We had a great time, sharing the starters, oysters and cured meats with pate etc. I had steak tartare while other guests had fish, lamb and beef cheek, superb. Already has plan to return.

Can HIGHLY recommend as it NEVER disappoints. Very authentic menu. Always seems like we are back in France whenever we come here. My wife is French and LOVES this place!
We ordered items from the Menu Du Jour (Specials Board) and they were all SO tasty. Excellent drinks list. Very attentive service from the waiting staff as well. FORMIDABLE!

Went there with groups of friends to celebrate his birthday. Satisfied. Vibrant ambience, great services, food was delightful. Gabriel showed up to say happy birthday. It was very nice. Definitely will go back there again.

Food was exceptional. Service was good. Restaurant was full which meant it was really noisy & very hard to hear my dining companions. Why do restaurants insist on having so many hard surfaces? I had the king george whiting dumplings which were melt in the mouth. The veal rack special for my main. Both were excellent.

I had dinner here today, the food was so delicious, and the wine you recommended was fantastic.
Especially, Hugo's service makes dinner even more. It made it worthwhile. Thanks to his help, I was able to have a good experience at my first French restaurant.
I'll visit again next time

Great food and service - noisy and busy bistro. If you're looking for somewhere dark, quiet and romantic, this place might not suit. If youre looking for hustle and bustle with great food and service, thus place is IT!

It was so delicious and the staff was friendly. In particular, the manager, Hugo, was very kind and I like wine, so he recommended it as a delicious wine. I tried it and it was really delicious and it was a choice I have no regrets. Thank you for helping us make a really happy trip to Australia.

I went without expectations, but there was an actual French manager named Hugo at the French restaurant! He had a very good understanding of French food and wine, and he kindly explained and responded so I was able to enjoy a pleasant meal! When I went on a trip to France, I received a lot of help from French people, and even then, I remembered that the food was better than the one I ate in France.:) I want to come back to Australia again because I remember this!

They take too long to get your food, other than that everything was good

It wasn’t an amazing dining experience due to a large boisterous party & an hour wait between courses, but it’s still some of the best French food I’ve ever had, so I’d still recommend it. Just be prepared to wait and maybe bring some earplugs.

Five of us came to Paris Go Bistro in Carlton on a Tuesday evening for dinner. The service was quite disappointing, as I saw several eyerolls from one waiter in particular, and they all appeared quite impatient and irritated. We ordered a wide selection of food (pictures attached), including the escargot, lamb, fish, chips, salad etc. I must say the food was very delicious but whether or not it was worth $400 for 5 people is up for debate. Thank you to Paris Go Bistro for a fine dining experience! 3/5 stars:)

Friendly staff and gorgeous food. I think I’ve found a new favourite restaurant.

As photographed, we ordered the Poivron Farcies au Beurre Blank (Roasted Capsicum filled with Mushroom Risotto) and the Mussels for entree which were both delicious.
For our mains we ordered the Boeuf Bourguignon (that is to die for!), the Salmon (with Scallops), Salade de Betteraves au Chevre (Beetroot Salad) and Frities (Fries) that was more than enough for two people and without fault, it was all amazing.
For desert was the Crème Brûlée which by far has been the best I’ve had in Melbourne (and I’ve been everywhere) with a light a fluffy slice of their Duo de Mousses au Chocolate (white and dark chocolate mousse).
