Waste of money! We are not going back this place. Food was way too salty and sashimi we ordered not fresh at all.
And my daughter found a piece of bone in salmon. How terrible!
It wasn't small piece and half length of my finger so it's very obvious!

The staff took the plate away eventhough I was still eating so I had to stop her to bring the plate bk to the table.
Completely spoiled family lunch out on Sunday.

It’s hard to put in words the experience without sounding rude, but I will try.
The food was extremely unpleasant, not fresh and some of the items were inedible.
The all you can eat option is very limited and nothing can’t be changed, even if you don’t eat Tuna or other items that they offer on the sushi platter.
The salmon tasted off and I’m not sure how they are allowed to even serve it to be honest.
The fried food was so oily, you could barely taste what was deep fried.
The staff were ok but really did not seem like they wanted to be there.
It was our first time at the restaurant and definitely the last time.

After coming back from Japan a few months back I was craving Japanese. The service was fairly good but the food was very delicious. It is good value I think as you can order as many dishes you like for about $40.

The food quality used to be great, but it was awful last week I visited. I ordered teriyaki chicken and beef, It was extremely salty and dry. Hopefully you guys can rethink how to improve food quality like before.

I recently had the pleasure of dining here, and it was a great experience.

This hidden gem offers an inviting atmosphere, an ambiance that exuded tranquility and elegance.

Each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor.

The melt-in-your-mouth sashimi simply transported my taste buds to new heights of delight. The tempura was light and crispy, perfectly complementing the succulent flavors of the seafood and vegetables.

However, the true star of the evening was the plum wine. It was truly exceptional. It had a delightful balance of sweetness with subtle undertones of plum. It was a divine accompaniment to the exquisite dishes, adding an extra layer of complexity to the overall dining experience.

Service at this Japanese restaurant was impeccable. The staff members were attentive and knowledgeable.

And don't forget to indulge in their remarkable plum wine—it's an experience you won't want to miss.

Good tasty food but portion size is significantly reduced every time we go. There is only a 0.5cmx0.5cm piece of octopus in the takoyaki now. The eggplant used to be 2 slices now it's one. The agedashi tofu used to be 4 big chunks now they are thinner. It's not turning out to be the good outing for the family that it used to be.

This is our favorite go to restaurant! Okami Fairfield has been our go to choice for nearly 4 years and we always walk away happy. Would definitely recommend this place to everyone!

My partner and myself were here last night, 19 February, 2023 for dinner. We came in as walk ins and was accommodated. The problem started right after we ordered.

1. My partner's entree which is agadeshi tofu was served first

2.3 new customers (family) came in and they were constantly served with foods while we're patiently waiting for our orders.

3. My partner had finished her entree and mine which is beef skewers had not yet been serve

4. Then they started serving my partner's main course which is chicken bento. That moment, my partner get really frustrated and asked them on why they can't serve the food all together. Not to mention that his done with his entree while I am still waiting for mine. The lady who approached us just asked us, " Do you want it now? " Which we immediately responded with "Of course! That's why it's called entree"

5. They then took my partner's main course back to the kitchen and we again waited for another 30 minutes. They came back with our main course but without the entree

6. We started eating and all of the vegetable side dishes are too salty! After 30 minutes (again), my beef skewers entree were served. I ordered for 2 sticks and was given 3 sticks!

7. The worst part was when I was eating my pork bento, I was at the same time chewing a hair! There was hair on my food! I immediately stopped and did not finish my food

Disgusted by this, we called one of the staff's attention and told her our experience and at the same time showed her the hair on the tissue which I took out from my mouth!

Although, she (the lady whose wearing a reading glass) offered us a discount prior to check out, we're disgusted by her response in which she said, "We don't know where the hair comes from but we're all short hair here and this is long hair"

Well, here's the thing:

First, I have short hair. My hair is above my shoulder. That obviously is a short hair

Secondly, you (the lady who attended us wearing a reading glass), the first lady who attended and had served my partner's entree and the lady in the kitchen have long hair. You're all wearing a pony tail and you knew that your hair is below shoulder length!

Thirdly, all of your kitchen staffs are supposedly wearing hair nets but nobody wears them. It's basic rule in the kitchen. You're serving food and needs to observe proper hygienes in preparing and serving food

Fourth, we can and have been eating at Marriott and whole heartedly can pay 500 aud in one seating. Hence, don't give us an impression that we're just after your more or less 20 bucks discount

Finally, Japan is recognized for cleanliness. Okami is a Japanese restaurant. Our expectation when we checked your place was high but was only disappointed by poor customer service, salty foods and hair on food.

The approach to resolve our complaints are beyond professionalism and disgusting

We'll definitely not recommend this restaurant to anyone! Luckily, we did not try the all you can eat promo. It's our first time to try Japanese and we're extremely disappointed with that experience

After so many years of coming to Okami Fairfield and always enjoying, this is the first time we have had a horrible experience. My family and I had a 7: 45pm seating, we ordered our drinks and two wine glasses (no wine just the glasses). After waiting over half an hour asking for our drinks nothing was arriving. Drinks finally arrived after about 45 minutes. They started serving the food which wasn’t what we even ordered to begin with. For 4 people rather than receiving a few dishes at a time (like it used to be in the past), there would be one single dish every 15min per person.
The food isn’t the same, used to be very hot, now it’s cold. The portions are no where near what they used to be. I asked many times what was going on because it was taking an extremely long time for the food to arrive. They told me it’s because there is new staff in the kitchen. However it’s not the people in the kitchens responsibility to take the orders correctly so that’s not exactly their fault.
When I went to pay, feeling disappointed and ripped off, I asked for the manager, they told me the manager wasn’t there. Now I just got home and I had a look at the receipt, and I just saw that I got charged two times for the corkage, when it was only one bottle. Bad and very disappointing experience after so many years of always enjoying the food and experience here at Okami Fairfield.
Certainly not the Okami (Fairfield) we are used to and remember.

Lovely interior with tasty food, although the fee is quite expensive for all-you-can-eat, the food comes out slowly so you get filled up quick! Definitely recommend trying this place out.

Food very slow, paying extra for public hoilday? Can't under stand why service wasn't good, any why food is so slow coming to the table.

Dinner for 4 on a Friday where we wanted to order off menu and not the all you can eat. However we were given only the latter menus and had 3 staff within 5 minutes ask us are we ready to order. It was only when the table finally figured out their meals and I asked why no prices on menu when I was told we had the wrong menu and waitperson returned with correct menus and we started again.
The nigiri was good, salmon miso a bit watery but cooked ok. The teriyaki steak was tough and mostly inedible.
Clearly if you want quality Japanese and a less chain-based gluttonous approach maybe go elsewhere, e.g, across the road to Matsuya.

Serving what could only be described as "Japanese looking food", by what feels like a kitchen that only learned what Japanese food was by just looking at photos, to patrons whom seem to have no idea what real Japanese food is like. Yes there is food here, and it is edible, but that's about it. Absolutely zero authenticity. Matsuya is across the road, honestly just go there instead. Avoid this travesty.
