Nasi Lemak House reviews
67Had the traditional Nasi Lemak and Teh Tarik. Nice sambal, crispy fried chicken, with a half boiled egg. The sambal and chicken is quite tasty and it’s not too expensive. The seating space inside is very limited, it’s more of a takeaway joint.
Wasn't expecting just a drumstick for my nasi lemak. For the same price and an actual quarter of a chicken, Elizabeth Street's Malaysian options are better value (eg. Sarawak Kitchen / Laksa House)
I really love the chicken laksa here! There's a cute assortment of choices from the menu and one of my go-to when I miss having Malaysian food!
Awesome sambal in Nasi Lemak (better than Papa rich) with scrumptious fried chicken. Sambal is authentic enough to bring years to your eyes. Super Spicy chicken curry laksa (please order mild or non spicy! Please don't say SPICY! Or you will regret it!). Almost close to home.compared to all the laksa served in Melbourne, this one had a kelantan or petaling Jaya feel. Soupy texture and yummy chicken. Noodle choice option could have been offered. Will come back and try others in the near future. Char kuey Teow is okay for me.but it doesn't have the Malaysian style as the flat rice noodles was fat and not the thin kind. Taste wise is okay.overall, good when you miss home food. Price Wise a tad pricey. But you are paying for the portion and service here.
The “chicken wings box”, after a 15 minute wait, turned out to be three small pieces of chicken wings hidden in lettuce for $7.90. There’s a KFC one block down. Nuff said.
Walked in for dinner on Friday night and despite their poster on best Nasi lemak in town the nasi was not that great and my partner got a Laksa which also was not that great for the price
Food is decent, but pricey for the portion. E.g.: $9.80 for just a bowl of rice, ikan bilis, half an egg, 2 slices of cucumber and sambal chilli. The prawn in the Char Keuy Teow tasted funny (maybe just today) The Laksa is nice though.
