Nasi Lemak House reviews
67Finally able to enjoy my Nasi Lemak with their vego option. Great sambal and also other than Nasi Lemak, their Char Kway Teow also tasted really good. Never disapoint in my every visit.
Ordered chicken fried rice from Uber. It is super disgusting.took about 1 hour to arrive and the fried rice is so dry and oily, especially the fried egg on top of rice. I am writing this review at 4am.sitting on the toilet.
Good taste. Just a little more curry in the portions would also make it right and great value for me.
Good value Nasi Lemak. Their Beef Rendang and Chicken curry versions are the better ones to try. Three types of sambal on offer to suit a variety of tastes and spice levels.
Wasn't the best Malay food I've had, I ordered the mee goreng and it was very saucy and not that good and my friend ordered the nasi lemak but overall the serving size was very generous and I would come back here but order something else
I just ordered Uber Eats, the delivery took over an hour and it was delivered stone cold. Never ordering from here again.
Was amazing at the start when I first discovered it. Sadly, Meal sizes have slowly become smaller since.
Dasyat sedap nyer. Serious kalah local taste. But don't convert the price to Malaysian Ringgit. U will get heart attacks
Lots of 5 stars reviews, but why?
Came here for lunch on the weekend, and was disappointed.
I ordered the Char Kuay Teow, one of those old favourites that many people order.
What I got was very salty, the chicken used in the dish was dry and over cooked, and so much MSG that I was left chugging water all afternoon.
Not again for me.
Great food, the chicken laksa and the char kway teow always taste really good and have great flavour. Caution, the medium spicy flavour was actually reasonably spicy. If you are going during the uni term at lunch you will usually have to wait for a bit of time. It looks like they cook everything fresh (ish) and sometimes you could be waiting for us to 30mins but its worth it!
Food here has become a bit hit and miss. I've been going here for around 15 years. Lately though I've had some bad experiences which is unfortunate (undercooked Rice or soggy Rice). Occasionally though the food is great. Perhaps depends on who is cooking on the day
Not much meat in most of dishes. If you find any piece of meat, it is covered in skin and fat. Won’t be back sorry: (
Not sure what all the fuss is about over the Nasi Lemak. It’s a fried chicken drumstick w rice, peanuts and dried anchovies.the sambal is tasty and spicy though.
Serves Halal meat.
Had heard quite alot about the Malaysian street hawker restaurant. The place is small & overflows during the peak hour. Make sure you reach before time and grab a seat.
I tried the Fried chicken Nasi Lemak with traditional Sambal as an add-on. The coconut rice was absolutely a pleasure to have, but the overall dish wasn't that impressive experience. Just something new to try with a pocket friendly budget.
I've been going to the Nasi Lemak House for >10 years. It is an absolute institution for Malaysian food lovers studying in the University of Melbourne.
I've graduated for many years now and will always pop in when I am in the area.
Aside from their signature Nasi Lemak, their fried calamari is to die for.
Watch out their sauce is authentically HOT!
The best. My most favourite. Regularly come here sometimes up to 3 times a week. They don't muck around when it comes to spice this place is the real deal. Don't understand the fandom or preferance for Laksa King at all. My favourite is the seafood laksa from here!
Had bought the Char kuey Teow, wasnt great at all, not even close to the best as shown on the poster they had. Prawns and calamari were cold and some aspects were abit off. Price is well higher than other similar store who actually produce better food. Did not feel comfortable eating it so i asked for a take away, cashier wanted to charge me 50 cents and did not give the container untill i had handed over 50 cents. Would not recommend going there at all.
Here you can enjoy one of the best nasi lemak in melbourne. The price was reasonable and most important the food was delicous and in big portion. The staff, Kamarul also was very friendly.
Really authentic Malaysian flavours. I'll recommend the traditional nasi lemak with the spicy sambal and the chicken curry laksa. I've tried the nasi goreng and honestly didn't really like it.haha. I'll say stick with the classics.
Food is fine though a little expensive compared to similar establishments (hope this is because they are paying their staff legal wages and benefits). Loud club music is irritating and the lack of toilets is absurd, if not illegal
