Nasi Lemak House reviews
67Food was good. Atmosphere needs to be worked on. I wasn't very pleased with the interior. Mouldy and dirty, so I am not sure if I would go again and order food there.
Went here with a group of friends for dinner and the counter staff got part of our order wrong. We politely asked if we could return the dishes we didn’t order and instead have what we asked for, the staff member wouldn’t even make eye contact and clearly wanted us to feel like we were being a nuisance. They came out again and showed us our receipt - they had definitely got our order wrong - so we again asked politely to have what we ordered, and again the staff member treated us with such disdainful passive aggression. Looked annoyed, no eye contact and clearly thought we were wrong. We had been nothing other than polite and thankful and they treated us so poorly. This establishment should either treat their workers so that they’re not constantly in a bad mood or ask them not to treat their customers like rubbish. Food was fine but nothing special.
Food is tasty, a bit on pricey side. Place is small inside if you want to evade the weather and plan to go with kids. Would be okay for takeaways if you are happy with pricing.
I ordered the nasi lemak with beef rendang. The cook on the beef had the texture of leather. The dryness of the beef suggested that it had been boiled and then dropped into the sauce that lacked thickness. I won’t be back.
Delicious food, quick service.
My friends and I chose to dine here very randomly, without knowing much about the restaurant prior.
I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious the Char Kuay Teow and Teh Tarik were!
Perhaps the only thing stopping me from giving 5 stars is the serving of food in plastic / cardboard boxes and drinks such as hot tea in takeaway coffee cups; perhaps a more environmentally friendly approach could be considered!
Melbournes worst laksa. Very light on vegetables and the tofu was miniscule. So disappointing, and super expensive (I ordered with extra tofu and it was $19.08) really tight arse ingredients, a bit watery not great on flavour but the lack of anything other than noodles was bad. 2 points for service and seating. Wish I'd photographed it.
Tried the Nasi Lemak with Rendang and another one with Curry Chicken. Sambal was good but has to pay extra $1 for that. Curry chicken was more like Curry Kapitan but not quite what I like. Rendang was better but no 'heat' at all. Coconut rice is passable.
Literally only 5 calamari rings and some soggy salad leaves for $9? ! Will definitely not go back again
The service was poor and they mixed up the order.
Vegetarian Laksa was nice (7️⃣/)
Seafood Kway Teow (6️⃣/) tasty but very oily
Teh Tarik (1️⃣/) Luke warm, no Tarik at all. Quite horrible. Tidak sedap I could get far better the Tarik from a supermarket sachet.
For the price, I think they need to improve service and quality.
That fried chicken burger is an absolute monster! Loved every bit of it and will be coming back for seconds next week! Highly recommend!
Very good sambal. Beef rendang tender and creamy. But rice too little, need more to eat with sambal. Would be better if can top it up with a fried egg.
Just had laksa and rendang beef. Really below average food. The rendang beef was lacking flavour and beef was not soft, was hard and chewy. First and last visit
I dream about the nasi lemak here. Had lunch here again after a long time, did not disappoint. Incredibly good, service always great.
My go to place for Malaysian cuisine, reasonably priced, quick service makes it a great place to grab a good dinner or lunch. Highly recommend nasi lemak, nasi Goreng and chicken laksa
Definitely the best sambal I have had. Have been going here for years, one of my top recommendations
Yum! Delicious lunch of chicken curry and chicken laksa. Really tasty, good portions and great value. Will be back for sure:)
The service is exceptional. Taste and quality of the food is exemplary. Staff is friendly and coping. Really had a great experience.
Total disaster. Ordered a day before for delivery to arrive at 5pm the next day. However, Doodey (delivery platform) sent us 3 text messages throughout the day, each time postponing the delivery, first 2: 10pm or 1 hour after, then 4pm and then 5: 52pm. Not surprising, the food arrived cold but not only that, both orders of nasi lemak (traditional original - most popular) did not come with chilli sambal after all the wait. When we called up Nasi Lemak House, Anika advised that chilli sambal is an option on their Nasi Lemak House website. However on their delivery website, Doodey, there are 3 options for customer to choose for nasi lemak; 1) Traditional Original 2) Shrimp 3) Sweet Chilli. Clearly there is a mismatch between the 2 platforms in which the Doodey platform did not translate the order correctly to Nasi Lemak House which had caused the wrong order. Anika claimed she would contact her manager Elaine but could not deliver the Sambel Chilli sauce which was missing in the order. When there was no reply from her, we called again and she said that they could not deliver today but another day. Very frustrating when we were past our dinner time on Fathers' Day. Fortunately Hassan from Doodey called and at first offered to deliver the Sambal Chilli sauce on our next order another day. He has good customer service skills as when we said that we were not confident with making our next order again, he offered full refund of the 2 nasi lemak order straightaway. He also explained the reason why the food arrived stone cold was because of the distance which is around 10km. So do not order home delivery if you live far away like 10km. Enough said. Will we order the next time? Definitely not because they are better ones out there.
Definitely need to add this place to your favourite list. The nasi lemak and teh tarik is a must try. The place is small though but the outside seating right next to a tree sure brought back some memories.minus the chill breeze! Just a tad bit pricey but wouldn’t stop me from going back
If you're looking for an authentic nasi lemak, this is it. The sambal is spicy but so good! Teh tarik is excellent too. Will be back!
