Mexico City Bentleigh reviews
73 We picked up an order on a Friday evening. The staff were pleasant and the place had a cool vibe.
However the food left much to be desired. The tortillas were crumbly dry, the vegetables were done quite basically and the sauces lacked flavour. We have experienced much better Mexican food in food courts. So this unfortunately was a disappointment.
Great atmosphere, good food and drinks. Recently dined here and I had the vegan fajitas and sangria which was really nice. Would go again.
Good Mexican. On the more traditional side than modern and contemporary that you would expect but to be honest some times I crave a bit of old school and traditional Mexican.prices are reasonable also
Nice atmosphere, but the tortilla chips were not fresh, which to me is a critical part of a good Mexican restaurant.
Very disappointing, food was all fried and quite oily. Overall, we won't be returning, poor value for money.
Very tasty Mexican cuisine! Ordered a prawn burrito on the day. What a surprise to be served a burrito on a plate, deconstructed with rice, beans and salad served separate to perfectly seasoned grilled prawns in a soft tortilla wrap. Each component was cooked wonderfully, a delicious dish. Inspired drinks menu. Lively vibe, good for conversations and friendly staff.
*NOT WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE*
Attended the restaurant for a family members birthday - where she called up and asked if it was “wheelchair accessible” and was told that it was. When we arrived there was a step and when asked for a ramp they then said that they didn’t have one. Please do not make promises and then deny saying anything when people get there. Poor customer service and definitely will not be back. 15 paying customers were lost due to this.
Good mexican food reasonably priced sangria $9 a glass we enjoyed it very much. Handy in our neighborhood. Not something you could go to every week. Not as good as mamarsitas in the city. But we will return.
Loved the food and service. Probably give the paella a miss but the remaining dishes were all great. The fact that it was a full house on a Wednesday night is a good reflection of its popularity with the locals.
We ordered a few different meals, all incredibly underwhelming at high price for what is served. The enchilada combo deals are decent at least in terms of size, but everything else was too small. The taste was boring with nothing special. Meat was the highlight by far, but theres barely any in the food. Service was also quite average. Asked for water and didn't get it until we finished our meals.
The Sangria is a must, and the food is very fresh and tasty, great decor and friendly staff. Will be coming back again soon
The food was decent, but the service was second rate they forgot to serve our table for 40 minutes and also forgot drinks that we ordered but we got them eventually.
Not worth the hassle, if the food was great it would be.
The staff and chefs are all about a quick turn over not quality of product.
Arrive well before published closing time. Four of us arrived at 8: 40pm and were told it was closed despite several tables of people eating. Shame because it smelled nice.
Disappointing. Don't know if it was just a bad night or if this place is bad all the time.
Noisy, long wait for food. I got a beef burrito. Lacking, with soggy corn chips under an out-of-place salad, average flavours, almost bland, dry rice.
Sad face.
Food was ok however the woman running front of house was extremely rude. We had a reservation and arrived 10 mins early.she told us rudely we were too early and just wait somewhere. When we returned she rudely said "oh you're back, then waved to a table and said that's yours. " I won't be going back there especially considering how many more good restaurants there are so nearby.
Tasty food! The service was very friendly, but very slow. Meal took 40mins to come out, and we had to ask them to check on our drink order. Overall, pretty good for our local Mexican restaurant!
Food was ok but service was poor. As soon as we arrived we were told off for not informing them we were bringing a pram then we were told exactly how long we had the table for (and we were reminded of our time limit during the meal as well). Staff weren't friendly and quite short with us. It made us feel rushed and uncomfortable. Won't be going there again.
I went with my whole team, and we were served pretty quickly and all at the same time. The food was good, and the servings were generous.
We had our first visit to Mexico City on New Years eve, and had an early dinner. Our experience was very good. The food was very tasty and well presented. The drinks menu was excellent and we enjoyed Smokey Margaritas with dinner. The wait staff was attentive and friendly. We have since ordered from them thru a delivery service and will definitely be going to dinner at Mexico City again.
Great food, a sweet vibe let's you really immerse yourself in it, good place to bring your mates for a night out, start off with some delicious tacos or even my favourite the chimichangas, get some amazing cocktails to wash it down with then get a killer dessert. Although it is a little loud I enjoy a good atmosphere and everyone was enjoying themselves, some good tunes playing in the background. Just an all out stellar location.
