Mexico City Bentleigh

The meals were delicious, with a fabulous atmosphere. Quick service - our family of 4 thoroughly enjoyed our experience.

Excellent food and service. Highly recommended. Pity I live a bit far away! Would definitely make a weekly visit. Thanks for the experience and the jalapeño Margherita! LOVEEEE IT!

Absolutely outstanding food and service!

As soon as you walk through the door at Mexico City in Bentleigh you are treated like family. The owners are pretty much always there and even the junior staff are friendly, outgoing and attentive.

The food was incredible. Taco's, Burritos and the Chimichanga (deep fried burrito) were outstanding. Perfectly cooked and so much flavour!

The Prawn Paella was also a fave and the Prawns were cooked to perfection.

Will be going back!

Orders were wrong, service is poor, food was cold, place is noisy and wait staff don’t seem to know what they are doing. Was here 5 years ago and it’s got worse now. Definitely would not recommend…

You gals are the best! The service was absolutely amazing. From the minute my sis and I walked in we were greeted with so many smiles. Possibly the best service I've ever gotten in a restaurant. You go gals, you are doing fecking fab!

Mexico City in Bentleigh is a ok Mexican Restaurant, however, there is definitely a lot of room for improvement, especially with so many good Mexican Restaurants around, I wouldn't say that Mexico City serves authentic Mexican food, but rather a Aussie take on it, unfortunately the Tortillas are just bought ones as well as the salsa and condiments, unfortunately there were no hard shell Tacos available as well. I feel like if they made their own shells they wouldn't run out ‍️ the prices are very reasonable and the staff are lovely but I can't say that I'd Recommend Mexico City Taco unfortunately.

Whenever I bite into the crunchy shell of a taco or melt in your mouth enchiladas from Mexico City Bentleigh, the flavours takes me straight back home to California. MCB food is always good, consistent, and leaves you happy. The flavours are spot on, great crafted guacamole, everything tastes fresh and leaves you happy.

The food was fine, but it was not guacamole at all, you can't call guacamole a smashed Avocado without even salt. I loved the black beans and I wanted to try hard shell tacos but the girl said that they run out of hard shells.it means they are from the supermarket or somewhere, not made at the restaurant, a bit disappointed.

Best Tex mex in Melbourne. Consistently good food.

We’ve been coming here for years, this was the worst experience at any restaurant ever!
This is what happened to us:
1. Reserved for our table to celebrate mums birthday with 2 high chairs (Restaurant only has 2)
2. Arrive and one high chair is in use
3. Made nacho orders for entrees. One of 3 plates arrive. Staff confused and put half order to arrive with mains.
4. Took 20 minutes and raising it twice for other nachos dishes to arrive.
5.30 minutes after entrees were finished, plates were cleared. We requested mains be bought out quickly at we have 2 babies who are due to go to bed.
6. Staff clarified mains order (2 hours after ordering)
7. Another 10-15 mins later the mains arrive 2 of the dishes were wrong
8. One was also meant to be chicken and beef combo, they put the order through as one beef and one chicken, meaning two plates arrived.
9. Because of the extra plate and not clearing empty items from the table a burning hot plate was placed in front of a 9 month old, not warning of plate temperature. Our baby reached for the plate and burnt their hand
10. Wait staff bring ice for baby, no apology
11. Another of the mains was ordered with sides that never arrives. When brought to staff's attention. They argued that the dish doesn't come with them, we had to remind them that we ordered additional sides.
12. Staff came to ask how the night was going, we said we were not enjoying our experience, they asked if we'd like anything on the house, we said no because honestly we couldn't wait to get out of there.
13. Half the table had to leave because their babies were way past best time and starting to lose it. We couldn’t stay to have birthday cake with our mum.

It’s so disappointing to see such terrible service at what used to be a great restaurant.

I need to mention that the entire time we saw Uber east deliveries leaving every few minutes.

All concerns were raised when we paid the bill, there had been no apology from the staff until this point. The apology provided wasn’t satisfactory and felt insincere.

We will not be heading back…. Beyond disappointed

Great friendly atmosphere. Staff are attentive and provide great service. The quality of the food is very good with plenty of variety.

I rarely give out 5 stars. But this place by far deserves it. Always amazing food, good drinks and vibrant staff. Definitely a bentleigh gem.

We have been here a couple of times before and recently came back for my partner's birthday. Always great service and awesome staff with fast meal turnaround! Never have to wait too long for any service there:) We look forward to coming back

Food is tasty, nothing spectacular though. Portion sizes are on the smaller side so I'd highly recommend sharing an entree.and I'm not a big eater.

So disappointed I wasted $70 for a family night. Ordered through Uber eats, food was soggy and cold, like it had been re heated 10 times, literally inedible. No filling in the chicken burrito. Will never order again lesson learnt. Salsa was a typical jar salsa. Nothing authentic.

We often go to this place and it always gives us great vibes, outstanding service, friendly staff, good food and great drinks, a complete package we love this place, must recommended. Thank you for looking after us every time.

Quality Mexican cuisine food with a selection of tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and much more.

The venue is colourfully decorated with amusing quips all around, and the staff are very friendly.

Overall the prices are moderate, and the Margaritas are colourful, though average.

Worth a dine in, especially if you're in the area.
