Metro Hobbies reviews
81Great service, friendly and knowledgeable staff always prepared to talk and give advice. I will be going back
I really like Metro Hobbies. As a plastic scale modeler, I find they have a great range to choose from, competitive prices and knowledgeable staff. Highly recommended.
I get the majority of my models from here, they range from Lego to model planes and gunpla. They also sell a variety of tools and paints (lots of paints). Lovely service as well.
The service from Peter was impeccable with buying my granddaughters lightning McQueen scalectrix set
Some issues with responding to emails when querying products.must be Covid. Special mention of the assistance from Ross and the crew who were most patient in providing advice and assistance. To be fair, most Hobby stores that I have contacted seem to struggle answering emails. My thanks to Ross for his time and customer service.
Just found this shop today on Bourke Street in Melbourne CBD. Never knew it existed until today. Great selection of choice for an individuals hobby needs. Especially love the lego section.
During my 2 week visit to Melbourne July 2019 just walking down Burke St mall I came across this Hobby shop had a look and I was absolutely amazed with there stock they have in the shop then I came back and brought a flashing unit for the leval crossing and brought also a diecast 1.76 scale model W Cass tram. Fantastic shop I would highly recommend and also well worth a visit.
Wide variety of puzzles and projects to choose from. The staff was very friendly and incredibly knowledgeable
Good range of products!
The pricecheck scanners are a nice addition. Once I realised they were there
All round good people to deal with, well knowledged and keen to help. Good stock variety for various budgets
Ordered online on a Thursday night and recieved the parcel on a Saturday afternoon. Whole online process was easy and got all the notifications. Good options online as well!
Huge selection, they have all the Valejo paints which is a huge plus for me - there my go to place for paints.
A place for straight advice. Pay for your Remote Control dream vehicle and walk out the door. If you get stuck just pick up the phone.
You might buy online, then;
No wondering whats going on your Credit Card, waiting for delivery, chasing redelivery and often no help on the phone.
You do then math.

I went here for airbrush and paint stuff and they had everything I needed ALL the staff were knowledgeable about their ranges of paint as well which was a plus.
One of Melbournes better hobby shops. Great advice from staff. My one stop shop for most of my model needs. Thanks metro hobbies. See you soon.
I'm not into these kind of hobbies, I visited for Schleich animals and little Siku vehicles. They have a nice selection of Schleich animals, this is the only place I've seen them in the CBD. Worth a visit if you want some realistic toys/miniatures for your kids, rather than the usual stuff out there.
After an issue with an artesania latina kit missing a couple of parts (box was still wrapped in original plastic, most likely an issue by the manufacturer) the staff went above and beyond to provide me with a replacement. I cant believe how amazing they were in helping me with this. Sarah and Lauren are amazing at their jobs and i am happy to say that i will continue purchasing from this store in the future as they have an amazing selection and some of the best customer service i have ever encountered!
New store doesn't seem as large as the old one. Very convenient for the Pancake Parlour though.
An excellent store demolished to make way for the underground metro upgrades. They still have a store in Box Hill, selling everything from Lego to Revell.
