78 If the rating was based purely on the food it would be 5/5, the food was amazing! The young gentleman who took us to our table was also very friendly and pleasant.
However, the lady serving, which was on a Wednesday night, was quite the opposite. Rather disappointing when you’re paying a lot of money. Just unpleasant, rude and judgemental.
Enjoy delicious lunch at “The Cafe” with your friends and family. Always better to make a reservation in advance. Don’t forget to visit “The Providore” to shop house baked sourdough, house made sauce, local produce, home wares and much more!
Beautiful building and atmosphere.
Unfortunately the staff were inattentive, causing significant delays to our orders. Food presentation was awesome but flavours within each dish classed, therefore did not warrant the price tag.
Had such a wonderful time here. The food is superb, especially enjoyed the beetroot with halloumi and hummus, as well as the beef cheek. You can also pop over to the little brewery adjoined to the place to grab a drink or four. It can get crowded but we were happy to sit outside because you get such a nice view. To make everything better, the service was impeccable. Highly recommend!
This place is actually a two for one, with Napoleon and Detour brewery set up on site you can get great food, a glass of wine or a pint of your favourite cider or beer. Napoleon ciders are some of the best in the Yarra valley with their apple & pear blend being one of my favourites. Do book in advance if you are planning a weekend visit to avoid disappointment.

We waited 1.5 h to be seated but it was so worth the wait. The location is beautiful, in front of a vineyard. The food is really well presented and full of flavor. We ordered the croquettes, the gnocchi and the snapper. I truly recommend this restaurant but try to book in advance, when possible.
We are tourists they have beautiful scenery but we were told off that we can’t take photos cause it’s private property. We were having lunch at the restaurant but couldn’t take away the food which gone to waste
Amazing place! The staff are awesome and the food is yummilicios! I especially love the pork belly, cooked to perfection.
Discovered a new fruit today, Crab Apples! I nearly mistook it for a cherry.
We had more than 4 people and they forced us to do a set menu for $65pp. The food was shared and portion was insufficient for the group of us. Not worth the money.
Went to lunch this Saturday with a group of 6 people. The sharing menu was not worth the $65pp price tag. Portions were measly and the food was average, hardly a meal. To be honest, the fact that you are forced to have this sharing menu if you have a group larger than 4 is a cash grab and they dictate the portions. Would not come back
Good service, delightful setting, yum food everything you need. Was surprised to see it full for mid week lunch. Testament to the all round quality. Oh and they have a brewery and providers store too. Perfect.
What's not to love? Even if you turn up without a booking, they can take your phone number and text you when a table opens up. You are free to have a drink at the bar or roam the grounds. Always happy to visit here. Food is always on point.
Amazing place located in Yarra Valley. (Approx 2 hours from Melbourne). Advance booking is recommended especially when you come in a group of people. Delightful spot for lunch or dinner. Loved everything about it, the food, ambiance, service. However, the food is quite pricey. Definitely a place to go.
The food I have ordered; main dish chicken and side French fries. Both of them were extremely salty, beyond all doubts chef must have put unimaginable amount of salt for grill chicken and French fries. The salt hit the tongue very sharp and did not disappear what so ever. I cannot come up with any other place offer saltiest food like this. We really wished to have the great time in yarra valley which is almost questionable after having the saltiest food in the world and feeling sick on drive way home.
A disappointing experience yesterday. When we rang few days before, we were told that a reservation could not be taken and we could just walk in. I even make another call before driving one hour to the restaurant. The waitress could've mentioned estimated waiting time, but nope. Driving one hour to there, get told it's gonna be at least two hours waiting time.
Is this a way of making sure you have free tables if the reservations don't turn up? Or thats the way to get more customers even its out of your capacity?
The old door view is nice, but food and drinks are average, it's not worth of 3 hours waiting. They are many restaurants in this area can do so much better in term of customer service and food quality
The girl who pick up calls had no customer service skills, tried to book a table and got told they cant put our name down. But we can just come in to the restaurant and they would accommodate us as soon as they can.
Come in to the restaurant, get told its gonna be one hour wait at least?
Seriously, why cant u tell me over the phone its gonna be at least one hour wait before we are taking a trip? This is terrible way to bring more business to your restaurant. If thats the way to encourage people come to your restaurant when you are flat out busy, its unacceptable.
Went for Saturday lunch. Good menu and fantastic service especially as it was very busy. Kitchen and front area staff are obviously well organised. It is noisy, so not the place for a romantic get together but overall excellent. Oh, I'd highly recommend booking ahead.
A beautiful cafe with big wide windows, overlooking the vineyards. Italian inspired cuisine. We popped by after our Airbnb host recommended it. Reasonably priced too. Must go!
