Meletos reviews
78Beautiful views, grounds, food and wine! A must if you have not been yet! Autumn was particularly a lovely time to visit!
My friends and I attended this venue and we treated ourselves to a 3-course menu. We all agreed the food was sensational and the service provided was to a high standard. The venue itself is aesthetically pleasing. I will definitely be returning in the near future!
One of my favourites. You can sit outside for a more casual setting or inside is a more formal restaurant/ bar. The calamari is superb. Can get busy on the weekend with long wait times but worth it.:)
LAMeletos
Overpriced, underwhelming food measured in minuscule portions and served by disinterested staff. Weakest cocktail I've ever had at an outrageous price. Freezing inside with half the customers wearing jackets to stay warm.
We left hungry, cold, and disappointed.
I’ve recently had 2 courses meal at Metelos and was impressed with the view there. Foods was good too. I really love the scallops highly recommended the dish to everyone. Would love to stay a night at The Farm if I have a chance too.
The place by itself so very beautiful but the restaurant have no idea what hospital to use. I can see from the photo that we can have food outside. When I arrive there I’ve been told you can only have coffee outside and more so ask for the menu And I was told there is no menu so I asked them what I can have outside as we have a dog with us.they mentioned cheese platter.
I asked him what sort of cheese can I have a look. They said there is no menu you just have to order and then you come inside and take a food and then you can go outside. Like really. The person I spoke to looks like the restaurant manager. I’m CDC I know much more hospitality than the staff or a manager. You drive from far away just to get the experience and that was the worst experience I can ever have in that winery. Very very bad hospitality.
We did a walk in and they made room for us even though they were fully booked, food was great service spot on and the grounds a picturesque
I got the wine and dine package and stayed in the Farmhouse and had dinner in Meletos. I got food poisoning from the fish. I had the scallop starter and barramundi main course. I woke up at about 1am and spent the rest of the night in the bathroom. Not the nicest way to spend our first year anniversary. I said it to reception the next morning and they directed me to the kitchen as it's a separate area. The waitress asked the chef who said the fish came in fresh and they had no other complaints. I honestly don't think the fish was cooked properly. I did think at the time of eating the barramundi it seemed a bit clear but it had sauce on it and didn't think anything of it. I felt like they just fobbed me off. After spending almost $700 for one night, they could have at least offered to take off the price of the wine from dinner. My stomach was off for a few days afterwards so I know it was food poisoning. My partner had no issues at all but they had the chicken. The location and farmhouse is amazing and so beautiful. Just a shame this had to happen. It wasn't how we expected to spend our anniversary.
Very very slow service. Don't go here hungry!
Very noisy environment.
The food was not as good as expected, given the high price of meals.
Could not recommend.
Almost faultless experience dining for lunch. They accommodated our group including our 7month old with ease.
Our waiter was extremely personable and knowledgeable (didn't catch his name).
The food was exisquite and beautifully presented. The only fault was, despite being delicious, the eggplant main was a little underwhelming compared to the meat and fish dishes.
We didn't feel rushed despite there being a group after us.
Very popular place and rightly so.
Just had Mother's Day lunch - absolutely fabulous! Wonderful service and delightful meal. I took a photo of entrees (goat cheese with truffle honey and sourdough was fantastic) but main and dessert were spectacular as well.
This is one of the most breathtaking places to visit in the Yara Valley. Beautiful ivy covered buildings, stunning gardens (that reminded me of The Secret Garden), a gorgeous dinning Hall in a glass room. Their outdoor eating area is reminiscent of a Sicilian garden, perfect for a wedding overlooking the vineyards. Even on an overcast autumn day this place was heaven.
I recently had a birthday lunch at Meletos and it was such a lovely day. The food was amazing and they catered to all our dietary needs with no problems. The drinks were also excellent! The gardens and scenery surrounding the restaurant are perfect for photos, definitely need to have an explore around if you go. Couldn't recommend higher for an event!
Had a $500 voucher that was to expire in December 2020. I had emailed Meletos whilst we were still in lockdown - they said they'd extend it until Jan. So as soon as accommodation was open to bookings, we managed to book not long before expiry - room and meal package. Despite the gorgeous views and raging reviews, our stay and experience here was completely opposite. Amateur, uninterested and incompetent staff. Back and forth with emails (initiated from them regarding where we would be seated for the "restaurant"). Arrived at their make-do seating (post COVID lockdown catch up I guess). We were seated but it took a good 20-30min before being offered menus or any water/drinks, or rather we had to physically find the waiter for it. We were just sitting there staring, spaced apart from other diners but it wasn't like it was busy. Dishes were ridiculously tiny, sharing meant it was a sliver of a piece of veggie each. Presentation was like getting something from the pantry and just having heated up in the microwave. Dishes took forever to come out (an hour between entree and main) and when the night finally ended (close to 10pm) we were left starving, not even enough for a child! Restaurant staff had no clue what was being served which was very pathetic. We'd expected much better of a fine dining restaurant and the prices it charges. Clearly we weren't the only unimpressed couple on the night. We were just within earshot of a couple who obviously had dietary requirements, as they commented they had emailed and was emailed back that an alternative would be arranged. The same staff just said what was on the menu tonight and offered no apology nor fixing up of the issue. Following our stay, Meletos asked how our experience was. We reported and it was acknowledged and they asked to provide best time for management to call and discuss within the week. Times provided but alas, a month later, hear nothing. Stars only given because of the views but would not be returning. We feel horrible our friends' gift to us was wasted like this.
Not sure if it was just an off night. Had a group booking so it was a set menu. Waitress seemed very new/ inexperienced, to the point where entrees came out and she forgot to give us plates. Food was nice, nothing spectacular. The highlight was the pork shoulder. Desert was a average, im not sure if they were made in house but i would avoid the petite fours. The cheese board went down well though.
Had a great time with a group of friends.set menu was great but very disappointed by the selection of desserts.didn’t expect them to serve boxed chocolates and cheese platter when they were charging $80.00 pp.
Service and food was good.
Overall a great experience.
Underwhelmed! Had high expectations but a bit let down by the food. We have two young kids (4 & 2) kids meal was $45 and basically was plate of chips with smallest piece of fish with some salad leaves. Expected a healthy and substantial meal for the price.
The main adult meals were okay again underwhelmed from our expectation.
The food was fantastic but on a cold autumn day being seated at near the front door was unpleasant. A simple re arranging of entering via the brew house could have solved the problem and even generated sales for beer. Alternatively a wind break could be installed at the entrance. Recommend avoiding being seated anywhere near the the front door on a less that perfect weather day. Would hate to be here in winter. The food deserves a better dining experience.
Great place with really good food & stunning views! Disappointed with the desserts, why can't you serve better or a variety of desserts in a bigger group when we are paying the same amount$ per person as in a smaller group. We were served with dark chocolate balls and cheese boards (which we had in the start as well). Worth a thought!
The only reason I'm giving a rwo is rhe ambiance. Otherwise there is nothing that would relate these guys to the hospitality industry! Long waiting time, a very rude recrption and no table service whatsoever, e.g. Tables feel icky. One of the sun shades (umbrellas just fell due to wind - I feel so safe right now). Not sure if dining in would have been any different.
